Close to our campground, an Airstream rally is taking place.
Today, they have an open door to the public from 2 to 4.
The interior of two of the Airstream motorhome. I cannot remember
the exact years, but I think the one on the left is around 1980 and on
the right, 1988.
Another view of the participants of the rally.
The interior of one of the newer Airstream
I was surprised to see an old
"2
CV" from Citroën. They were popular in France many years
ago. They made from 1948 to 1990.
Our neighbor has the oldest Airstream at the rally, a 1959.
Airstream owner are very passionate about Airstream. It was
interesting.

It has been a few days since I went for a bike ride. Back in the
saddle this morning.
The last time I biked this way was August 19 and the fields were not
this golden color.
While it is still early in the morning, I start cleaning up the forward
compartment. I may put in another set of drawers.
Let me introduce Sherley, she is our neighbor and she has Alzheimer.
While her husband was packing and getting ready to leave, Sherley came
for a visit and watched me cleaning up the basement.
After lunch we started the construction of a "pantry" with the left
over wood from the TV stand we bought a while back.
We cut, we drilled holes and screwed stuff together.
TADA!
We think it looks pretty good. We only need some stain to cover
up the cuts.
We are very happy with the result.
Another warm evening so why not have a fire?
It was a pretty busy day.
Tuesday September 3, 2013
Our friend Sean from Cold Lake is here for a few days for a visit.
We are so happy to see him. We spend the evening by the fire
reminiscing about our camping trip in Cold Lake.
Wednesday September 4, 2013
This morning, I am giving a tour of the city to Sean.
Moose Jaw not being very big, we still have time to visit the
Western Development
Museum before lunch.
I had seen this museum in 2010, but it is such a good museum, I wanted
to do it again.
Only one photo, this old trailer...
Back at the motorhome, we spent the afternoon talking about our lives
since we left Cold Lake in 2010 and some of the plans we both have for
the future.
We had a nice raclette for dinner.
It was a lot of fun to see Sean again after four years.
He has to
leave early tomorrow morning to drive back to Cold Lake.
See you later Sean. It was good to have you with us for a few
days.
Our path will cross again...
Thursday September 5, 2013
The hot and humid weather is back with us. We mostly read and
tried not to move too much.
Once again, it is so hot, the birds have to keep their mouth open to
cool off.
Across the road from the campground, a festival is taking place.
The Moon Harvest festival has lots a music and food.
It is way too hot to stay in
the sun.
Sean left early this morning.
Safe travel Sean, see you soon.
Friday September 6, 2013
Last night, we got an email from Jérémy. He finally knows when,
him and his family
will be coming to Moose Jaw.
It should be between October 24 and November 1.
They even have the address of the PMQ they will move in.
Jérémy asked us to take some photos of the house for them.
First thing I did this morning, I went out to take photos of their new
residence in Moose Jaw.
Here is one photo of the PMQ they will be living in. It is really
nice and newly renovated.
With Jérémy and his little family not coming to Moose Jaw for another 5
or 6 weeks, we are moving to Regina to wait for them.
Here is why.
River Park campground has many sites, but only 7 with
full services. Since the heat wave started, we have been losing
power regularly for no reasons. Even with the power at 30 amps,
we lose power when I used the fridge (8 amps) and the TV (1
amp). The reason is that seven sites having 30 amps each should
have 210 amps coming in
the distribution panel, but only 100 amps comes in!
The management is aware of this, but it will be fixed when the
camping season is over this fall.
We are out of here and moving to Regina where the power is 30 amps...
Here I am slowly packing for our departure tomorrow morning.
The manager came to let me know the "why" it is the way it is with the
power.
She offers us a week of camping for free next year.
We will see!
Only the full service sites were having power problems. I have to
be honest, it is still a very nice park.
Saturday September 7, 2013
A last few things to do before we are ready to leave.
We are using the seatbelt to secure the new TV stand while we are
traveling.
Au revoir Moose Jaw!
We saw many old cars driving towards Moose Jaw because a parade will
take place with lots of old cars.
Once across Regina, we have to take this gravel road for about .5 km.
We took the car from behind the motorhome to prevent more sand and dust
on the car.
Our "
new home"
for the next week or so.
The campground community room is located in an old school house.
Here is the story of the school house.
The pool is heated to 27 C, or 82 F.
The owners have a good idea to keep the price low, $33.60. You
only pay if you use the pool, $2 per day per person.
Our site.
Here comes our first change to the TV stand. We move the
satellite receiver up to a small shelf and move the headphones forward
to improve reception.
It is so good to have a site with reliable power.
Sunday September 8, 2013
Michèle found a few yard sales in Regina.
Off we go, but first we have to wash the car from all the sand and dust.
Camouflaged little truck! Can you see it?
Here i am cooking some bacon and breakfast sausages for my next few
weeks breakfast.
An easy day!
Monday September 9, 2013
A gray sky today, but it is still +21 C.
Our backyard!
We are short a few items to completely finish our past projects.
I am talking about the coax cable for the new location of the TV and
for the little "widgets" that keeps door close for our new pantry.
Why not hit the Thrift Stores and Home Depot for those things.
We were successful and got everything we needed.
Tomorrow, I will work on those.
Tuesday September 10, 2013
First thing I did after breakfast was to install the "widgets" to keep
the door closed on our pantry.
Next thing to do is the routing of the coax cable from the satellite
control box to the satellite receiver.
The top arrow points to where I had to drill a hole for the cable to
come down by the driver side post (middle arrow).
The bottom arrow shows where the cable comes out, under the dash.
Now I only have to pass it under the left hand console, by the wall.
It went very well.
Here the cover of the post is installed, you cannot see the cable
anymore.
The cable going behind the console, along the wall.
The cable comes out by the slide and carry on to the satellite receiver.
We are very happy with the results.
Shortly after lunch I went for a bike ride. It was a good 21 kilometers.
A snowbank?
No, I am by the skating rink.
OK! I promise I will not show you anymore of my haircuts.
A nice fire and some serious reading the rest of the afternoon.
A
Pitaya,
or a dragon fruit. This is the first time we try it. It is
good!
We finish the day with another fire...
Wednesday September 11, 2013
We are off to White Butte Trail Recreation Site and hike a few tails.
The trails are mostly flat with a few "hills" about 3 or 4 meters
high.
Michèle is spoiling me with some "crêpe" for lunch, hummm!
It is not that cold inside, but when you read a good book on a
Lazy-Boy,
chances are, you will fall asleep and a blanket is nice...
I am getting dinner ready.
A very good day.
Thursday September 12, 2013
We find the TV a little low when we are reclining on the
Lazy-Boys.
I am moving it up about 4 inches.
On the left, the TV sitting higher and on the right, where it was.
Hummmm! Maybe a 46 inch TV would look good in here?
I am listening to Harry Potter while watching a nice campfire.
This afternoon, I was at the pool for a few hours. Is this the
last time in 2013 in Canada?
Daytime temperatures are warm, but as soon as the sun goes down, it
cools off quickly.
Friday September 13, 2013
I took a nice bike ride of 12 km this morning. I came across this
bird of prey watching his territory or maybe he is waiting for a
"fresh"
roadkill?
I spent some time in the pool again today. With the nice warm
weather we have, we had a nice fire this evening.
When I took those photos, I did not know how they would turn out, not
bad!
Saturday September 14, 2013
In the afternoon, I started to pack for our move tomorrow.
We are moving closer to Regina, actually in the city limits of Regina.
With what we have left for firewood, we have one last big fire tonight.
less that 2 hours between these two photos.
Moving day tomorrow.
Sunday September 15, 2013
Time to hit the road and leave behind the nice little campground.
Here we are and here we are gone!
Undeliverable how close this guy follows me, right in the dust!
As I said, we are within the city limits.
Our "new" home for a while. We are on site B12, Here I come.
Some branches are very low, a few are even touching the roof. I
cannot get a good satellite reception.
Here comes "Lumber Jack" Denis! I took many branches off and now
we have good reception for the TV and no risk of a tear on the roof.
Time for some groceries shopping this afternoon.
We are at less then 3 kilometers from Walmart and other grocery stores.
I am going to show you some of the campground.
Here is the view from the front windows.
Our site looking north.
Looking south from our site.
The arrow indicate the Transcanada highway and a transport truck going
by!
The red arrow indicates from where I took the photos.
This is the entrance of the campground.
I will have more photos of the campground in a few days.
This campground is mostly for workers, here is an example...
The internet is free, but after dinner, it slows right down because
more of the workers are on it.
Until next time.
Life is good...
