Back at Rolland's place for the afternoon and evening.
First, we hit the flea market.
The rest of the afternoon is spent in the shade.
We have quite a few good laugh...
Diner is at Baton Rouge. It was OK.
Back at the motorhome, we take some more crazy photos...
Sunday June 2, 2013
Getting up is very hard!
After lunch, we visit my sister Christianne. She has her new
apartment, very nice apartment.
In the middle of the afternoon, we go to the long-term care center
where my mother is living now.
A few family photo.
Michèle and Benoit supervising a kiss from my Mom.
The staff really look after Mom. The employees are very
good. Mom is very happy in this hospital, she has alzheimer.
After the visit with my Mom, we take Benoit back to the Laval metro
station.
A very good day. I am very happy with the long-term care center
where my Mom
is now living. I am also very happy with where my sister lives
and to top it all,
we had Benoit with us this weekend.
Monday and Tuesday, June 3 and 4, 2013
Monday, we spend some time with my sister Christianne. I install
a
wireless keyboard and mouse on her computer. I switch the two DVR
from the kitchen and the living room.
Tuesday, we are off to a blind store. We want to see how much it
would cost to repair one of ours blind.
First, we stop at this little burger place for lunch.
Here is Michèle's poutine...
Our search is not very successful, nobody wants to do the repair!
One of the person we talked to, gave us some string to do the repair
ourselves.
Here is the blind we have to repair. We have to replace the
string because they are worn out.
We checked some video on U-tube and decide to do the repair.
The best place to do the repair is on the bed.
The repair is actually very easy.
Our time in St-Jérome is very limited, this evening we visit my uncle
André and aunt
Gisèle.
Wednesday June 5, 2013
Diner at Estelle and Robert.
A very good "pork fillet à la Guillaume", a recipe from their son
Guillaume.
Thank you Estelle and Robert for a very good meal and a great evening.
Thursday June 6, 2013
After a good lunch at my sister Estelle, we are off to visit my mother
at the long-term care center for the last time before we leave.
On the right hand photo, from L to R. Christianne, me, Estelle and
mother sitting down.
After visiting my mom, it is late afternoon and we are at Rolland and
Suzie's place for the last time before we leave.
Only one week in St-Jérôme is way too short.
We did not have time to visit all the people we wanted.
Friday June 7, 2013
This morning we are on the road again. This time, we are heading
to St-Ignace-de-Loyola at Patrice and Manon.
A big accident on the opposite side and it is causing quite a back up.
We have to leave the motorhome in Repentigny and take the car to go in
Montréal to pick up Benoit at the metro Radisson.
He is spending the weekend with us at Patrice and Manon's place.
Back at the motorhome, Benoit picks up his lunch at MacDonald and I
hook up the car to the motorhome.
Michèle taking a nap while Benoit is sitting up front.
Ahhhhh!
Another good meal prepared by Manon.
Rock explaining some subtleties of the French grammars.
Catherine and Patrice, he can't believe his eyes...
Benoit and Rock.
A good game of "Bang".
Benoit is the first one to sleep in the new fifth-wheel Patrice and
Manon bought.
A busy day!
Saturday June 8, 2013
Cloudy day, we spent the day relaxing. Benoit took a bike ride
and took some photos.
So pretty!
Watching a lot of TV today...
Sunday June 9, 2013
The racing team! OK, we are just casual bikers...
Benoit has to go back to Montréal.
Patrice and Manon fifth wheel.
Once back from Montréal, me and Patrice tryout two satellite antenna
with the fifth wheel. After a few tries we have signal.
We are tired now, we have to rest!
Chubby, the monster!
Monday June 10, 2013
It is hot and muggy today. With this nice day I decide to clean
the basement.
While I do this, Patrice and Manon are cleaning up their tackle box for
there fishing trip next week.
Once everything is repacked properly, I have lots of room available.
After lunch, being done with the basement, I tackle washing the
motorhome.
It is +25 C with the humidity it feels like +29 C.
Once the roof is done, I take a dip in the pool to cool off.
The pool is some cold, only +19 C. Brrrrr! It does cool me
off do!
I am the first one in the pool in 2013, Catherine is the second one.
The sun sure feels good!
The motorhome really needed it. I had to take a few dips in the
pool to cool off because of the heat...
Tuesday June 11, 2013
The rain started at 2 am and has not let up yet.
Most of the day is spent inside watching TV.
Chubby the dog, being very active right now!
Looking out the back door.
Looking out the front windows.
I use this time to work on my next update for the web page.
We payed some card game with Patrice and Manon and the kids, we had a
great time.
Wednesday June 12, 2013
As you may have noticed, the "weather" and the "Where are we now?"
is gone.
It is too hard to keep up while we are traveling. I will post
them back once our pace has slowed down.
We are currently between Berthierville, Québec and Moose Jaw,
Saskatchewan.
Back to the blog.
The day starts with fixing the renovations we did to our entrance
steps. The vertical tiles came un-glued.
Manon gave me some kind of industrial glue to use. They will not
come off
for a long time...
With only a few days left before we leave for Regina, I have some stuff
that needs to be done ASAP.
Like the cleaning of the air filter for the motorhome engine.
To get it out, I have to work half the time inside, under the bed and
pull it out from inside. The red arrow is indicating the air
filter unit.
I blow air into the air filter to clean it up some. A great deal
of dust
and sand comes out. This is the first time I do this for this air
filter. I do not know if it will make it last longer or not.
While I am working like crazy, Patrice, Manon and
Michèle are enjoying a beer, in the shade, in the garage. LOL!
Just a crazy photo!
Manon enjoying a "beer".
We are playing games tonight. The first one is poker. I am
not playing.
The look of an ex-poker player.
After a few hands of poker, we continue with the game "On Connait La
Chanson".
Too long to explain other than it resembles karaoke.
Valérie is the game host.
The lady's team.
And the very relaxed men's team
The lady's beat the hell out of us. I have to say, my
sister-in-law, Manon, was very good tonight.
Thursday June 13, 2013
Not much today other than we shopped in Trois-Rivières.
Before shopping, we all ate at the buffet "Le Sieur de
Laviolette". Very good.
Me and Patrice did a little shopping and left, but the girls stayed and
did a lot more shopping.
Friday June 14, 2013
Some of the purchases I did are for an oil change for our car.
Both of us are a little surprised by the oil filter, it is a cartridge
type.
Patrice has some more shopping to do in Joliette.
Before we leave, we are treated to a lunch by Manon and Patrice at the
restaurant "La Belle
Province".
A poutine for Michèle and a giros with fries for me. It was good!
We are back home by late afternoon. Catherine is getting her hair
cut short. She is giving her hair to an organization that will
make wigs for kids
in hospitals. What a nice gesture from a young woman.
With long hair ...
... too late ...
... can't go back now ...
Geneviève is now making it all look pretty. Of course we are
supervising!
Super cute!
Manon is not giving her hair but she goes under the scissors too.
We had a good time today!
Saturday June 15, 2013
This morning, Manon and Michèle are doing some last minute shopping for
Manon and
Patrice's fishing trip.
Me, I start to pack stuff for our trip to Moose Jaw. First, the
bicycles go inside the car since we have more then 3200 kilometer to
travel to moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. I do one last survey inside
the
garage to make sure we are not forgetting anything.
Patrice is preparing his stuff for his fishing trip.
Just before lunch, we switch the 5th wheel and motorhome
location. The 5th wheel is back by the garage.
I also use this time to change the oil on the motorhome's generator.
For diner, I cook the shrimps Pete and June gave us. They are
very good. Thanks Pete and June.
Once again, while I work hard, they...
This is our last day with Manon and Patrice's family. We will
miss you guys!
Tomorrow we hit the road to Moose Jaw.
Until next time.
Life is good...
