Lets start with...
Happy New Year!
Did not do much today... Maybe just some recovering from last night New
Year Party...
Bingo season is upon us!
We did not win any games, but our friend June did, all $25 worth.
Wednesday January 2, 2013
I had an appointment to get my car alignments check this morning. I
took
a little walk while waiting and saw this bird of pray nest up a light
pole!
The temperature is 27 C (80 F) and the water in the pool is at 29 C (84
F).
Happy
Birthday Benoit!
25 years old already!
Un-believable how time flies.
A Tequila shooter for you, our favorite youngest son!
Michèle spent the evening at the club house playing cards.
Myself, I stayed home and worked on the next web page update.
Thursday January 3, 2013
This morning, I have worked on our motorhome problems. Mainly the
lack of wipers and no fan for the AC (truck).
One of the fuse was replaced by a regular fuse when it should have been
a breaker fuse. I changed it for the right kind, but still no
wipers or fan. Is the circuit board bad?
Before i took it apart I took a photo of all the wiring connection to
it.
Not as easy as it seems to get to the fuse box. it is located way to
the right.
Once the circuit board was removed, I inspected it and could not find
anything bad with it.
Re-installation!
Next step is to look under the dash ans look for something disconnected
or bad.
I could not find the problems. I took an appointment at the
dealership and they can have a look at it and fix it.
Daniel and Sylvie are leaving, they are to go to Alabama to get their
motorhome fixed so we went to say good bye before they left.
Tonight was the RV park pot luck dinner. Always good food and
great company.
Friday January 4, 2013
Free breakfast at the community hall.
We did not do much the rest of the day, but were busy all day!
Saturday January 5, 2013
The weather is nice and cool, we went to the Flea Market with Pete and
June. Michèle made some purchases for Gabriel.
Sunday January 6, 2013
This morning, I had to cook all the potatoes before they turned
bad. I made mash potatoes. Most of it went to the freezer.
I got up to 27 C (80 F) in the afternoon.
In the pool we went!
They have a problem controlling the water temperature of the
pool. It was at 32 C (89 F).
We were in the pool for over an hour!
Sunday night is shuffleboard night. WE made it to the
semi-finales. The last game was played under a light rain.
Another retiree's hard day...
Monday January 7, 2013
Not a good day weather wise. Only +15 C with grey skies and light
rain every now and than.
We went to see the movie "Django".
This was not the movie I expected! We really enjoyed it and like
most American movies, lots of blood and gun shots.
Back at home, reading, watching TV was the big thing today. With
my Ipod Touch I can even play along with a TV game show from home.
Neat!
A boring day that still turned out to be fun!
Tuesday January 8, 2013
Sunny skies and warm (hot) weather are back for many days!
I started my day with a 16 km (10 M) bike ride. Now with a 95%
humidity level, it was not as much fun as it could have been. Boy
am I damp!
I went to the pool a couple of times today. By 2:30 pm we went
across the street to Carole and Maurice for a get together for Carole's
birthday. She just turned 22 years old with many years experience.
A good turn out!
7:30 pm and we were at bingo. I did not win any Bingo, but
Michèle won $15.00. This gave us a profit of $3.00.
WOW! It was lots of fun with our friends.
Tomorrow will probably be a beach walking day.
Wednesday, Thursday January 9 and 10, 2013
Wednesday was beach day, first time since we got here in Largo.
We are not beach people, more like pool people.
But still, we did go for a very good, long walk.
The path from the parking lot to the beach.
Good thing we came early in the morning to the beach because it sure
warmed up quickly. We even got to see some dolphins swimming by.
On our way back from the beach, we stopped at this buffet place for
lunch.
It is not a Chinese place, it is southern style buffet.
Lets just say the food was barely average and so was the service.
We will not go back there for sure.
Thursday, we did not do much, mostly pool, bike riding and reading, but
no photos!
Friday January 11, 2013
We had a big day in front of us.
Today we had an appointment at the Lazy Days RV service center,
for them to have a look at our problems with the wipers and heater fan.
We left the campground at 7:15 am, right at rush hour. Let me
tell you, traffic lights are super long here in Florida.
The sun was slowly creeping up over Tampa bay.
We were traveling through Tampa during rush hour. It still
went pretty good, no major traffic jam.
Here we come to Lazy Days service center. They even have a
control boot to
make sure nobody leaves without paying.
While the technician was troubleshooting our motorhome, we headed to
the
local mall.
What a big mouse!
I love to drive under trees like that.
The technician found the circuit breaker circuit board was
defective. They had to order a new one. We told him to
order the part and put everything back together. I would change
the
circuit board myself.
The dealership automatically charges 2 hours of time regardless how
long
it really takes. They charge $125.00 per hours.
We had a surprise, the bill was only $200.00 and not $240.00 as
expected. They credited us $40.00 because there was a little
miscommunication and we had to wait a little longer then we should have
had. OK with us!
Motorhome is back together and we are off to our RV park.
St-Petersburg in the distance.
This morning we had the sun in our face and we now have the sun in our
face again as we drove home.
We made it home and got all set-up just before dark.
Even if it has taken the whole day, we were very happy with our
experience at the Tampa Lazy Days.
Saturday January 12, 2013
I have got to buy some 50/50 tickets. Will we win this time?
We even participated in the RV park football pool for the quarter final
of the
NFL.
We spent the afternoon at "
Derby Lane" stadium for Greyhound racing with our
friends Keith and Isabelle.
Showing the dogs before each race.
A view of the whole race track.
We only lost $22.00, but we did have a lot of fun.
I really like dog racing.
Sunday, Monday January 13 and 14, 2013
While Michèle was watching a football game, I did some "pool time".
Across the street, we have Maurice and Carole on the left, Keith and
Isabelle in the 5th wheel.
Michèle watching the football game.
Michèle won $5.00 at the football pool, me? Nothing!
Pretty sunset.
Monday was an uneventful day, mostly reading, pool time and a little
shopping.
Monday evening is poker at the rec hall and Michèle won $18.00.
We are rich!
Tuesday January 15, 2013
They had a stained glass class at the rec hall, I decided to try it.
Some photos of the RV park.
This was our group taking the class. On the right, the project
we had to do.
Jerry was our "teacher". Here we were hard at work.
Isabelle working hard, we had a good time with lots of laughter.
Michèle spent some time in the pool. Outside temperature was 28
C, water temperature was at 32 C.
It was not as easy as it looked. I was not paying attention to my
soldering gun and I inadvertently burnt a hole in the sand bucket.
Ouppssss!
Of course, I had to help out a little. Jerry has the patience of
a monk!
My project completed. I really enjoyed doing stained glass.
We ended the day at Bingo with June, Michèle won again, $10.00.
We always start our "winter" season with a wallet of $50.00 for the
games at RV parks. We do this just to see if we come out ahead or
at a loss. Good news, we now have a little over $85.00 in the
wallet. Mostly due to Michèle's skill, not mine!
Until next time.
Life is good...
