Today, we are travelling north-East to Cold Lake with a stop in
Bonnyville to visit Benoit.
The pace will be a little slower for the next few days.
For some, it is already slower...
During our travel, we come across the little hamlet of Brosseau.
My brother Rolland spent a summer in 1968 at our uncle's farm.
Out west, the roads are very straight.
Our first stop is at Benoit's house, once again, a good time with family.
Cold Lake, here we come... Of course, got to have flying jets.
After we got home, we just relaxed...

The schedule for today.
First on the list, Cold Lake north and the marina. A visit to the base and the
hangar where me and Michèle work. To finish, the aircraft display on
base.
Let's start with Cold Lake north and the marina. A view of the
lake.
A big, wild and scary fish. A baby northern pike measuring 6 inches.
Taking the sun...
We finish the visit with a nice cool ice-cream.
Next on the list, the hangar where we work. I work on the second
floor of this hangar.
In the hangar's stairwell, we have some murals showing the life on an
Air Base.
It was very informative. We can
see teaching runs in the family.
This is where I spend most of my working days.
My new students!
The next two photos are about the simulator we use to teach the
apprentices how to fix the CF-18. We are very impressed, specially
Marilyne, she really enjoyed the simulator.
The "Top Gun" photos.
The entrance of the base.
This is a DC-4, also known as a Dakota. This particular one is
"Pinocchio". It is fitted with a CF-104 radar and was used as a
training platform for the navigator. I was the pilot for about 20
minutes in 1978 of this aircraft. This does not make you any younger
Denis hi hi hi.
A "T-bird" of CT-33.
A CF-101 Voodoo.
And a CF-104.
The first aircraft we worked on in our career, the CF-5.
A CF-18 taxiing by.
And we finish the day relaxing in the shade. It is a warm day.
