Benoit is coming to visit us for two days.
We pick him up at the métro Montmorency in Laval.

It is always good to see him.

And we sure talked a lot!

Rolland and Suzie invited us for supper tonight. Their two daughters, Karole and Dominique, with their spouses and kids are here too.
Darn! I forgot to take photos until when they were leaving.

Thank you, Rolland and Suzie for a good meal and the good company.

Saturday, October 2, 2021

It is a rainy day. We stay inside with Benoit.

Sunday, October 3, 2021

We drove Benoit back to his apartment in Montreal this morning.
Once back at the campground, Estelle and Christianne came over for a visit. Why not take this time to have one last campfire.

Kristin sent us more beautiful photos of her and Natasha. A big thank you to Kristin for sending us photos.

The plan is to leave on Wednesday. We will be heading to Jannie and Jan's place.

Monday, October 4, 2021

We are on our way to Rolland and Suzie's place. Fall has arrived, the leaves are changing.

We are taking the "back way" to get to my brother's place. We are driving through the old Prévost and Shawbridge.

Shawbridge' bridge. The original bridge was built over the Rivière du Nord by William Shaw (1805-1894).

Rolland and Suzie.

We were there just to pick up the items we left for storage. Back at the campground, Estelle and Christianne came over for a visit before supper. We even had a campfire.

This is our last day here before we leave tomorrow for Trenton, Ontario.
Beer is very expensive in Ontario. I asked my sister if she would not mind going with me to Costco and buy beer. I do not have a card, but she does.
Our car with the purchases.
One case in the trunk.

Two cases in the front.

And five cases on the back seat.

Remember, our car becomes a trailer when towed behind the MH. The cases in the front were moved to the MH.
All this weight did not affect our gas consumption on the MH.

I do not remember who we were talking to, but we seem happy.

Rolland and Suzie came over for supper and the evening. We had lots of fun.

We are having a great day for travelling weather-wise. Sunny and hardly any wind.
We left the campground by 9 am.

We took our usual route. Highway 15 south, Highway 50 west to Hawkesbury, Ontario
This way, we bypass Montreal altogether. Fall is really here.

Near Hawkesbury.

Coming in Hawkesbury, Ontario.

Next, we take highway 417 west for about 30ish kilometres.

Boy! Do we look serious or what!

Some secondary roads to highway 401 west toward Trenton.

We got our last gas at the Trenton Canadian Tire.
Since our last fill-up in Saint-Georges-de-Beauce, we drove to Saint-Jérôme and then to Trenton, Ontario.
We travelled 794 km, used 264 litres of gas for an average of 33.29 L/100 km or 8.48 miles/gallon.

We are finally at our next home. This photo is from last year. We do not have the Pontiac G5 anymore.

Natasha and her hat, she loves them.

We are going to get into a routine now, like having a beer with Jannie and Jan after work.

Thursday, October 7, 2021

I must have had some catching up on my sleep because I slept for eleven hours and a half.
Jan does not wait long to put me to work. He left the lawnmower by the MH at lunchtime! I do not mind cutting the grass.

Natasha loves her new colouring table.

About a week ago, our water pump in the MH died. I am replacing it today. I checked out the prices on Amazon.ca and the local RV store. It turns out the price was the same, so we bought it at Steve Sweet RV.
The pump is located behind the black panel.

For once, what needs to be replaced in the RV is easily accessible.

It is replaced in no time at all.

Done! I will leave the panel off for a few days to check on possible leaks.

We will be using the water from the freshwater tank for a few days to test the water pump.

What do you do after a busy day? You have a beer.
Jannie received over a dozen of corn on the cubs for free. She is putting them on for supper. All we have to do is bring our meal. Patricia and Andrew came over too.

One thing is for sure, Natasha loves food.

Another good day.

Saturday, October 9, 2021

No sun is shining today. The wind is blowing strong today.
It is time to take the docks out of the water. The wind helps and hinders the job. The seasonal campers are helping, so am I.

Once the docks are unhooked, they are floated to the boat launch where Jan picks them up with the tractor.

Shortly after ten thirty, we are all done.

We got done just in time. The rain came and stayed for the rest of the day.

Sunday, October 10, 2021

Not much planned for today.

We took a short walk. We are surrounded by cornfields.

It was a day to catch up on our recorded tv shows.

Monday, October 11, 2021

On this Thanksgiving day, we are with Jannie and Jan for supper.
Patricia, Andrew, Dean and Millie are with us too.

As always, Jannie prepared a very good meal.

We are very lucky to have good friends like them.

But! Sometimes we go crazy. We had a great time.

Thank you, Jannie and Jan for a very good meal and evening.

Our friends Lynn and Robert contacted us a few days ago. They told us they were coming to this area after they picked up their new Airstream trailer in London, Ontario. They decided to stop at North Shore for two nights.
They spoiled us with a good supper.

They already had a 23 foot Airstream. They just upgraded to a 25 foot 2021.
Congratulation on your new purchase.

Wednesday, October 13, 2021

It turns out to be a gray day. We took Lynn and Robert to the County and visited two wineries. There are over 30 wineries in the County.

The first one is Sandbanks Estate Winery.

Because of the COVID, we had our tasting outside.

Ready to taste.

For $ 10, we could taste 5 different wines.

We enjoyed the wines we tried.
They still had grapes on the vines. Maybe for ice wine!

Our second stop was at Karlo Estates.

Ready for more wine.

The main entrance.

The tasting room.

The wines were good, but we preferred the one from Sandbanks. It is a personnel choice.

Back at the campground, we had a nice campfire.

Lynn et Robert's new Airstream trailer.
We really like the floor plan of this trailer.

The days are getting shorter. The darkness arrives quickly.

Once again, we have pizza for supper.

Lynn and Robert will be leaving tomorrow morning. We are very happy they decided to stop for a few days. We will have to find time to visit longer next time we visit.

It is an easy day. We discovered our paperwork for our second vaccine from Saskatchewan is not filled out properly.  I had to make a few phone calls to fix the issues. We all know how fast the government machine moves! First, I called someone in Saskatchewan Health. I gave her our email so she could send all the info needed to fix the problem. She said she will send the info right away. Never got the email! So I left a message at another area on the government website. Now we wait!

Big surprise! I got an email at the end of the day. It is from the second place I left the message. It does not give the info I want, but where to call to get it. I am told to leave a message. She will call back quickly. Yeah right!

Friday, October 15, 2021

I am waiting for someone to call me back "quickly".
Surprise! I get a call at the end of the morning.

The second surprise of the day, she has the info we need. All I have to do now is pay the fees. To do that, I had to call another number and pay the fee. Third surprise! Someone answer on the first ring!!! Everything goes according to plan. I thank them many times. All we need to do now is wait for the letters with the right paperwork to come to our mailbox. Then I will be able to register our second vaccine in Ontario.

This past summer, Jannie and Jan received their Canadian Citizenship. We were in Saskatchewan for this happy moment.
We bought them a small token to remember this big step in their lives.

They did not expect it.

This is what we got for them. A kind of book with all the coins of 2021.

As I was cooking supper, I played with the camera.

Michele too has fun but from inside.

Until next time.

Life is good...
