Happy Canada Day.

Jérémy and I went to pick up the MH from the storage compound on base. We will be going camping Wednesday afternoon at Wakamow. We have in the driveway to load it... In a timely fashion, as per the rules... (We are slow!)

Some photos of the morning.

We had to go to Canadian Tire. As we were driving out of the military housing, we saw this deer. He is a little confused.

Because of the hot weather we are having lately, I placed the portable A/C in the MH.

Because it is portable, we need an exit for the hot exhaust.

We also need a bucket to catch the water that is created while cooling off the ambient air.

Relaxing in front of the TV before bedtime for Natasha.

Another relaxing morning.

And then we have lots of action...

Jeremy, Gabriel, Natasha and I went to A&W for a good breakfast.

Once back home, I installed some reflective shade in the windshield and side windows. This will help control the heat coming in from the windows.

Natasha loves her water table. She also loves getting close to us when she is all wet...

After Natasha's nap in the afternoon, Jeremy, Gabriel, Natasha and I went to the splash park on base.

Natasha loves it! She keeps an eye on her big brother and does the same thing.

It will be hot later this week.
But the flower bed is coming along nicely.

I finally located the sticker for North Shore RV Park and placed it on the car's window. I already have on on the MH.

It is +26° C. + humidity. The kids are playing at the splash park.

There is nothing like a good snack after playing in the water.

Gabriel asked us if he could listen to TV in the MH. Sure, why not.

Everybody is up early this morning.

Today is the day I change the oil on the generator and the MH's engine.

I start with the generator. It had not had an oil change since 2019 and after more than 46 hours of use. I did not change the oil in 2020 because I did not have a place to do it. The MH was going to be stored for the winter. The pandemic has turned everything upside down. So today is the say.

Next comes the MH's engine. The first photo shows the dipstick. The second photo shows the filler cap where we add the new oil. There is not a lot of room above.

Jeremy and Gabriel having fun.

Is Natasha talented like her aunt Erin?

She loves grand maman's house.

Right after supper, Jeremy and Gabriel went fishing on Thunder Creek in Wakamow.
Jeremy did not think they would catch anything, but Gabriel caught a small pike!

A proud dad with his daughter.

Natasha loves books. We hope she keeps that attitude later on in life.

There is nothing like TV and a snack before bedtime.

Wednesday, July 7, 2021

Natasha at daycare. She had to sit in every locker.

Gabriel is getting run over by a slow-moving RC truck.

We are camping at River Park Campground in Wakamow. We will be here until July 14. Last year, the city made many upgrades. Almost all the sites have sewer connections now.
This is our site, site 41.

The view from the other side of the river.

The 30 amp plug-in is pretty high. It is because the campground is often flooded in the spring.
I had to use bungees to keep from coming unplugged and support my EPO.

Jeremy came over for a visit after supper. They played with Gabriel's RC car. Gabriel is learning about the maintenance of the RC car.

Grand-papa is also keeping an eye on the action.

I forgot to take photos of the RC car as it zips along.
A boy relaxing.

Gabriel also loves reading.

Some more photos of the afternoon.

We are having a hot day. It is + 33° C with the humidity.
Gabriel's cooling off in the MH.

It is burger night at the MH.

Gabriel's bed. He helped with the assembly.

I almost forgot. Audrey and John came over for a while during the afternoon. I also forgot to take photos.

Thursday, July 8, 2021

It went up to + 35° C with the humidity in the afternoon.
We are on our way to catch some minnows and other critters at the dock.

Gabriel and the almost famous wooden bear in the campground.

A special lunch with cheese bread.

Gabriel is having fun with his toys while I replace the brake pads on both bikes.

Jeremy brought Gabriel's bike.

We love them.

Gabriel.

Friday, July 9, 2021

Ouch, another day with + 36° C with the humidity, not fun. We are not spending much time outdoors.

Grand-maman and Gabriel also went fishing for minnows and critters.

Off to a different place to fish.

The great fisherman and woman coming back with lots of fish.

Gabriel went to the other side of the river to play at the other playground. He is a big boy now.

When he got back, we had some cold stuff. He, an ice cream cone and I, a Mr. Freeze

We played a few games of Uno.

Kristin dropped by after she picked up Natasha at daycare.

We enjoy a good supper.

Saturday, July 10, 2021

Jeremy and Gabriel are off fishing in Buffalo Pound for carps.
I enjoy a good coffee after they left. The temperature is cool this morning.

The carps are bitting this morning.

There is always time to catch a frog or two.

Gabriel is telling us a fishing story... They came back just before lunch. It is getting hot right now.

It is so hot in the afternoon, we went back to the house. Gabriel uses this time to play with some friends while Michele and I play with Natasha. Jeremy and Kristin went to do some shopping.

We came back to the MH after supper. Gabriel stayed at the house because he is going fishing tomorrow morning, again. Michele will look after Natasha.

Sunday, July 11, 2021

Michele arrived at the house at 6.45. They all left t 7 o'clock.
The fishing is good this morning. They even caught two carps at the same time.

Nice size too.

And two more.

Kristin is with them. She has no luck fishing, but she still enjoys the sun.

While they were fishing, Michele had a good time with Natasha. As for me, I stayed home like a good boy.

It was a good week.

Monday, July 12, 2021

Gabriel starts his week at fun camp today. It is at the Yara Centre in Moose Jaw. He cannot wait. Kristin found this week of day camp and got Gabriel registered. The day camp is about holidays. Here are some of the holidays they will celebrate. Valentine St-Patrick day, Canada Day, etc. Thanks, Kristin, this is a great idea.

Day one. Yara is an international fertilizer company that has a mine nearby. They donate lots of monies for stuff like the Yara Centre.

A little history about the name Yara. The name Yara stems from an old runic symbol and the word “jardar” in the old Norse language of the Vikings. It means a good harvest — a good year. The image of the Viking ship that’s been a part of our logo for almost 100 years represents our heritage and our endless quest for knowledge.

Since it is just Michele and me, I decided to cook my breakfast sausages on the new grill on the BBQ. It works great.

It is a hot day (+35° C). They have planned most of the activities indoors.
Gabriel comes out at the end of the day pretty tired, but happy.

Back at the campground, time for the cold ice cream.

Jeremy and Natasha came for a visit before supper. It is the first time Natasha spends some time inside the MH.

One happy boy.

Tuesday, July 13, 2021

He is ready for another day.

Gabriel is eating the same thing as me for breakfast, one egg and two sausages.

Today's holiday is Halloween. Gabriel is dressed as a police officer.

Ready to protect and serve.

In the lobby of the Yara Centre is a message board. This message was on it.

This was another busy day for Gabriel. He is tired.

What? Crepes for supper! My mom made those for me. Now Michele makes them for Gabriel and me. He loves them.

Another visit from Jeremy and Natasha. Kristin takes this time for either gym or playing Baseball.

Nothing like a daddy as a cushion.

Danielle, Gabriel's mom, asked Gabriel to write a diary about his time with his dad. This way, he remembers what happened during his stay. Good idea.

Wednesday, July 14, 2021

He is a happy boy when he wakes up.

Today's day camp is at the Kinsmen Sportsplex.

This is the inside of the Sportsplex.

And a rink.

They played floor hockey in the morning and went to the pool in the afternoon.
He loved his day.

Back at the campground, Jeremy has the fishing rods all set up for fishing.
The chances of catching a fish here are pretty slim. It is almost a swamp.

Fishing is hard...

Kristin came for a visit with Natasha before supper.

What is this?

Gabriel and Jeremy are having fun with the RC cars.

Natasha is eating the leftover crepes. She does not have a sweet tooth yet.

Kristin and Natasha left before supper.
We had chicken wrapped in bacon for supper.

At the same time...

There is nothing like a good snack and a little TV before bedtime.

Thursday, July 15, 2021

Another beautiful and hot morning. What a view from the back of the MH.

Today they have a bouncy castle and a slide.

A new message on the board.

With Gabriel at the day camp, we get the MH ready for traveling.

We will be home in less than 15 minutes.

With the MH all set up in the driveway, I finish the installation of the pool. It is another hot day (35° C).

When Gabriel is back home, we went in the pool, but the water is still pretty cold.

Until next time.

Life is good...
