This is Gabriel's family in Alberta. Shannon,Jaden, Danielle, Gabriel's mom, and Gabriel.

This morning I finished the brake lights on the car, well, surprise! I had to do some changess, but in the end, everything is working fine. I will install them permanently when we get to Moose Jaw. I also check the water level in the coach batteries.

Some of the photos Jeremy and Kristin sent us.
What a cat they have...

Natasha loves colouring.

But at the end of the day, we got some not-so-good news from Jeremy and Kristin.
The daycare where Natasha goes has one employee who is anti-vax. Guess what? She tested positive for COVID-19! Go figure.
Now all the kids in the daycare have to self isolate for 14 days... That also means the parents of those kids also have to self-isolate for 14 days. All this because one person does not believe in vaccines based on what she read on FB. That means Kristin who is a respiratory technician cannot go to work in the hospital because of that person. The other respiratory technicians will have to work harder because of that!!! As for us, we are NOT leaving this Thursday, but maybe on Monday... OK, enough said.

Natasha got her first test for COVID today. Kristin told us Natasha did very good with the big q-tips. She got a treat for being a trooper.

Since we will not be leaving Thursday, why not help Jan build another deck!

I have learned a lot from Jan while helping him.

This is at the end of the first day.

The result of Natasha's first test is back. It is negative, yes!
One more test needs to be done on Monday. Maybe we will be leaving for Saskatchewan on Thursday?
Natasha dancing in the pool.

At the end of the second day, we are almost done except for the front steps. We would be done if it was not for the rain this morning.

The artist.

Michele did this poncho with crochet. She is good. Now, Michele wants to crochet another one, the same colour, but for Natasha. She does not have enough yarn to finish it. And we cannot go into the stores to buy that because of COVID.

In just under an hour, we are done with the steps for the deck. I am very happy to have helped build this deck and the one before. I now have experience. It does not mean I am very good, just that I can wing it better... Jan is a good teacher.

Jannie has invited all of us for lunch. We are having pulled pork, very good.

No people food for Charger and Diesel.

Why take a photo of the robotic vacuum?

Last evening while the robot was vacuuming, it clipped a bottle of wine. The bottle of red wine fell on the ground and broke! Talk about a drunken robot!

I am cutting grass at Jannie and Jan's place this morning.

With the grass cut, I give them a hand planting...

... cedar fence. Just this many gives a depth perspective to the big yard, nice.

We also pre-dug some holes to plant trees later.

It was a good morning.

It was a hot day today. We are under a "Special Air Quality advisory".
I spend most of the day working on my blog for the next update.
And a nice sunset.

Monday, June 7, 2021

Natasha got her second COVID-19 test today. We should know the results in a day or two. But, while talking to Kristin, we learned that Moose Jaw did not have an outbreak in the daycare or town. So chances of Natasha having COVID are slim to none. We decided to leave tomorrow morning.
Ain't she cute?

Patricia came with Andrew to say goodbye. We are having homemade pizza with Jannie and Jan.Thank you so much for all you did for us. You are truly good friends.
We will miss you this summer, but we will be back in September or October before we leave for Arizona. (At least we hope to leave for Arizona.)

They even gave me a diploma for deck building. Too funny!

Time to get on the road. I have to get rid of a few things before we leave.

Time to say goodbye to Jannie, Patricia and Jan. It is with a little tear in the eye that we leave them.

On the road again...♪♪♪

Our destination is Walmart in New Liskeard. The rain starts just as we got on the 401.

We do not drive for very long on the 401. We turned north towards North Bay.

We encounter some road construction and some very nice sceneries.

We are very happy to be back on the road.

It is a hot day and even hotter in the parking lot of Walmart, +29° C.

The road we took today.

Jeremy told us that Natasha is anxious to see us...

We already knew this Walmart is noisy because of its location.  From early in the morning to late a night, lots of trucks stop for the signal lights. I will have to find a better place in this area.

Wednesday, June 9, 2021

Jeremy caught this carp yesterday. It weighs 13 pounds.

We cannot wait to see her.

When we left the Walmart, we only drove 300 meters and stopped for gasoline.

Michele is keeping an eye on things.

When we got back on the road, a few hours later we saw this poor young bear, dead on the side of the road. We saw another, but alive this time.

More road construction.

The road is really nice when suddenly, BANG!

Three big transport trucks come the other way. One of them throws a stone on the windshield.
A few kilometres later, I use a glass cutting tool to try to stop the crack from growing.

We made a quick stop for gasoline in Hearst.

Road construction and this one made a mess of the MH.

We made it to Longlac, our stop for the night.
I have seen these trucks a few times today. They are Toyota's, but not a model we currently have here in Canada.

The upside-down "U" was a try with the glass cutter to keep the crack from growing. It is always 50/50 it will work. The crack went up to the top of the windshield.

When the stone hit the windshield, the glass inside broke and sent chards all over the dash.

It was a long day of driving for us. Good roads to drive on.

Since we are in Longlac, we decided to visit Pearl and André. Since we have one vaccine and they had two, we sat in the garage, two meters apart. We caught up on each other's life. It was good to see them again.

Pearl and André, stay safe.

She is one funny girl!

We are back on the road by 7 am.

The closed we get to Nipigon and Lake Superior, the more fog we have.

And of course, more road construction.

The road is mostly good and nice to drive on.

This is where we will spend the night. A truck inspection/weight station in Vermilion Bay.

This was another long driving day for us.

Surprise! More rain. The border between Manitoba and Ontario is "closed" to unnecessary travel because of COVID-19.
This is the checkpoint coming to Ontario. The police are checking everybody.

But as far as going to Manitoba, no checkpoint...

In Manitoba, we could see some nasty clouds in the distance.

Luck is on our side, every time we get close to nasty-looking clouds, they seem to be moving away. The rain is almost over. The wind is coming from the east. It is good for driving because it is "pushing" us. It helps with the gas millage.

I always taught Quebec had the worst road in Canada, but Manitoba is way worst.

One last gasoline stop in Winnipeg before we carry on to Moose Jaw.

With those dark clouds comes high winds. When the winds come from the south, it hits the MH sideways. It makes driving harder. The winds are at 30 km/h and wind gusting to 50+ km/h.

After about 10 km, we had to stop because the arm on the slide awning keeps hitting the wall because of the wind.

I am studying the problem and trying to find a quick solution.

Here is the problem, the purpose of the arm is to prevent the awning from unrolling as you are driving.
So to prevent the little arm from hitting the side, I used steel wire to maintain it in place. Once I get to Jeremy's place, I will fix it properly.

We spent the night in the small campground in the small town of Elkhorn, Manitoba.

Here is a little useful information. When you travel in the prairies, most if not all the small towns have a small campground. They are usually run by the town or the Lion Club. The one in Elkhorn has been the same price ($25) for three services for the last 6 years. Look for the campground signs or go near the sports field.

Natasha loves stuffies and dolls.

Moose Jaw, here we come.

Time to leave the Trans-Canada Highway.

Jeremy, Kristin and Natasha are in Regina and should be back in 20 - 30 minutes. We unhook the car.

I also remove the steel wire from the slide awning.

Finally reunited. It is so good to see them again.

Now, let us look at our spot.
Because of the way the house is, we are parked with the nose in. Almost touching the garage roof.

It is a shared driveway.

We are really close to the house.

If you remember, we bought a portable air conditioner a few months back.
It is hard at work right now.

The exhaust of the AC.

I am really happy with the way the car tracks behind the MH. We are still happy with the car.

Today was a shorter drive compare to the first few days of travelling.

OK, let this be a friendly warning. Now that we are here and until September, you will see mostly photos of Gabriel and Natasha, of course, some of Jeremy and Kristin.

Grand-maman is having a lot of fun with Natasha.

It is a beautiful and hot day. I am showing Natasha the pliers are dangerous.

Natasha is one happy little girl.

Jeremy and Kristin went fishing before supper.
We are looking after Natasha, an easy job. She wants to eat by herself, like the grown-ups. But the fingers are still easier.

A little help from grand-papa to finish eating.

Some cuddle time with grand-papa.

Natasha watches some TV before bedtime.

Monday, June 14, 2021

Just to let you know, some days will be grouped together since on normal days not much happen, just life.

But today is not a day like that, why?
We are in the waiting line for the walk-in vaccination clinic in town. It is open for age 60 and older. We are in line by seven-thirty.
It does not matter which province you are from in Canada, they will give you the vaccine.

In less than two hours, we are out the door with the vaccine in our arms.
Thank you, Saskatchewan.

Natasha is a little mischievous.

Tuesday and Wednesday, June 15 and 16, 2021

This is not like cutting grass at Jan's place...

The chef at work.

Natasha is a little tired.

Until next time.

Life is good...
