Brrr! It is chilly this morning. The grass is covered with frost.

We continue splitting firewood. There are only three of us, Jan, Patricia and I.
Jan's friend asked if he could have the cedar. We move the cedar to the left.

Jan is now picking up the wood, splitting it and loading the Kubota. Patricia and I drive the Kubota back and forth. We stack the firewood in the shed and come back for another load.

The shed is almost packed, but we are running out of time and light.

After supper, we skyped with Benoit. He is doing better.

Wednesday, November 17, 2021

We are back splitting firewood this morning. We want to get it done.
You can see the cedar we stacked for Jan's friend.

It may look like there is only a little wood left to split, but the big pieces actually take a long time to finish splitting.
There is a lot of firewood in those big logs.

We are done after about an hour.

And the shed is now packed. The firewood will dry over the winter.

It is a big shed. We think there are about five or six cords of firewood in there.

I noticed a squirrel coming out from under the MH. I wonder if he is building a stash of food around the engine compartment for the winter.

I look around the engine from the outside. Then I moved to the top of the engine by removing the doghouse cover inside the MH.
What do I see? A pine cone sitting on top of the engine.

I am glad I saw the squirrel going in there. Now I can move the MH, so he does not get in there again.

I talked to Jan. He said we can move the MH to his place right now.

On our way to Jannie and Jan's house

They are very kind to let us park the MH on their property.

To top it all off, we are invited for supper. We had chicken. It was good.

We had a lot of fun tonight.

Today, it is time to go for a car ride.
We are on our way to Cobourg, 50 km away.
As we were driving on highway 2, what did we see?

One of the fire trucks that Jan and I built last winter.

The downtown area of Cobourg is really nice. The town hall.

We drove around the back street of Cobourg for a bit. We came across this neighbourhood library.
It even has a kid's section!

Michel did some shopping in two thrift shops.
On our way back home, we took highway 401 and saw this white cloud in front of us. It is snow coming down.

Just after we got home, the rain started. It rained for the rest of the day.

It was a good day.

Friday to Sunday, November 19 to 21, 2021

Not much happened this weekend.
Here are a few photos we received from Kristin and Jeremy.

It has been cold in Moose Jaw in the past few weeks. Buffalo Pound Lake now has three to four inches of ice.
Jeremy told us he will be ice fishing next weekend.

Michele found a small sewing machine in Market Place. We got it for $25. It works very well.

Monday, November 22, 2021

I finally cleaned up the junk room.

We got some light snow today.

Tuesday, November 23, 2021

One of those days when not much happened.

Wednesday, November 24, 2021.

Natasha is a sick little girl. She has a hard time breathing.

If you remember, we bought a small sewing machine a few weeks ago.
Michele found a Christmas bed sheet at the thrift store. She is using it to make Christmas cushion covers.

She has never done this before.

The seamstress is at work.

Here it is! She even made a second one.

We really like our new (to us) sewing machine.

And what did I do?
Serious reading at the bar.

We have Jannie and Jan over for supper and games tonight.
For tonight, we have cheese fondue.

Thursday, November 25, 2021

This is Jan in the basement of our house. He is changing a condenser on the furnace. The furnace is working like new now.

A fox walked by in the afternoon.

Natasha is still not feeling well. That does not stop her from going outside with mom and dad.

Friday, November 26, 2021

Michele crocheted a nice toque. It is only missing a liner inside. It will be perfect.

Some of our Christmas decorations. Michelle found the snowman face on Market Place for free.

Saturday, November 27, 2021

Happy Birthday, Jeremy, our favourite oldest son!

Us.

We slowly decorate some more. The two big (red) snowmen came with the snowman face and were free.

We are invited to Patricia and Andrew's place for supper. It is to celebrate Jan's birthday.

Do not worry. We are all vaccinated and our "bubbles" are interconnected.

Surprise! It is also to celebrate Michelle's and Kylea's birthdays.

We had a good meal and lots of fun, thanks, Patricia and Andrew.

Sunday, November 28, 2021

The snowfall started in the middle of the night.
Michele sent this photo to Benoit, who lives in Montreal.

Benoit sent these photos back. He is babysitting a friend's cat (Remi).

Jeremy bought fishing pants and a coat for his birthday.

Even Natasha can go fishing with dad.

Jeremy bought this fishing tent last winter. This is Buffalo Pound Lake.

One of the big fish he caught.

Natasha and her first bicycle helmet.

But she is still sick. She is slowly getting better.

It snowed all day.

We are not talking about big flakes.

This is just a Sunday at home.

Monday and Tuesday, November 29 and 30, 2021.

Even if the forecast calls for rain on Thursday, I still clean in front of the garage.

It is so beautiful with all that white snow.

I am still full of energy. I decided to walk to the main highway and fill the potholes with snow to make it smoother for the driving.  The road is not maintained by the county. In the past, Jan has asked for a monetary contribution from the residents of the other five houses. The answer was a big no!!! So, Jan only maintains the road during the camping season. I would do the same.

When I got back home, I went to the front to check out the birds in the water. Can you see me behind Michele?

The geese are taking a break on the ice.

As for the swans, they prefer the open water.

This is where we are living this winter.

Until next time.

Life is good...
