Saturday and Sunday, January 16 and 17, 2021

Not much happen today and Sunday. Saturday, when we were coming back from Walmart, I noticed some truck tracks going by the closed fence into the RV Park. I texted Jan to let him know. As I suspected, it was him who drove into the Park.

By the end of the day Saturday, we had no snow left on the ground. The rain, coupled with a temperature of +5° C. made for fast melting snow.

Sunday was a quiet day at home. I went for a 5 km walk. Michele watched a few movies.

Natasha has a big cold. Poor little girl!

Michele is making some date squares. They are really good.

Happy Birthday, Natasha!

We had some snow overnight. Michele has her appointment at Helix in Belleville. She is getting new hearing aids.
Does it look pretty or what!

Because of COVID, Michele can only go in 2 minutes before her appointment. I cannot go in with her. So I have a Timmy in the car as I wait.

(Photo from Google Earth, no snow) Just waiting in the car listening to a podcast.

Michele come back with two new hearing aids for free. The manufacturer is replacing the one she had before because they were poorly manufactured. She will still be able to receive another pair from Veteran's Affair in a few months.

Natasha is feeling much better. She is having a small birthday cake because she will get a big one this weekend.

Natasha is already one year old. Unbelievable how fast time flies.

We miss her so much, cannot wait to go and see her and the family.

Today is the day I run the generator and the engine of the MH.
It is only -1° C. Everything works properly.

While everything is running, I check out the inside for leaks.

All is good with the MH.

It is a "one photo" day.
I prepared a pork roast and it was very good, but no photos of the finished product!

This morning, I am giving a hand to Jan to move the BBQ Shack outside of the shop. This is to make room for the lumber coming this afternoon for the construction of 6 fire trucks for playgrounds.
The is the lumber we have to stack. This will allow it to dry some.

The same lumber, but with three photos together.

All the lumber is now stacked in the corner. So they can dry out some.

This is Michele when she was looking at us moving the BBQ Shack from our home on the security cameras.

Michele is sorting the Barbies and keeping only the Best for Natasha. She bought the whole lot a few months ago.

She keeps the really nice one. She then slit the rest into three lots and put them up for sale on FB Market Place.

Kristin and Jeremy sent us the photo of the gift "we" bought for Natasha's Birthday. A toy chest with a board integrated.

Michele is preparing a cauliflower soup for the first time.

The soup is good.

Today, I am helping Jan with the construction of the 6 fire trucks.
This is the first one he built for the Park.

Jan belongs to the "Ontario Private Campground Association". He showed them the fire truck, as a joke, asked if any would want one. Many said yes! This is why he is building 6 of them.

When you have to build 6 of the same fire truck, you need a lot of similar parts.
Today I am cutting the wheels.
From a square piece of plywood.

With the help of a "jig", I cut the plywood in the form of a wheel.

We need 30 of them. We are not done with them either.

As for Jan, he is busy cutting pieces we will need at a later time.

I add two 2X8 pieces of lumber to the already cut wheel. They will be cut again later on.

All 30 of the wheels. They really need to dry out some more.

Jan continues to cut pieces we will need for the assembly of the trucks. The big boxes on the right are the chassis for the trucks. Against the door are the pieces waiting to be assembled on the chassis.

Jan cutting.

The pile of wood on the left has diminished quite a bit so far.

But the woodpile against the door has increased.

Supper is at Jannie and Jan's house tonight.

We had chicken Parmesan. It was good. After the meal, we played the game of Sjoelbak. It was one of my best nights playing the game. We are very lucky to have them in our "bubble" during the COVID.

Kristin and Jeremy celebrated Natasha's birthday today. Some of the photos Kristin took with her camera. She takes great photos.

It was a good week.

We have a lot of action in the RV Park this morning. Hydro One is here for the last step in the electrical upgrade of the RV Park. Fifty amps to most sites. The only thing left to do is connect the Park to the main electric line by the County Road 64.

Just to clarify, Jan and Patricia did all the electrical upgrade in the RV Park. Hydro One only had to inspect the work done by Jan and Patricia. And then, they had to tie in the Park to the mainline after they had run a new line to the Park. Everything was done according to code.

Somethings had to be double-checked.

They are removing all the old poles. All the new wiring is underground.

Jan and Patricia will find a use for the old poles.

By one in the afternoon, we had power back on in the Park and the house.
Jan, Jannie and Patricia are so happy to see this project finally completed.

Jeremy sent us this photo. This is the loaner car from Audi while they change the oil in his car. Nice!

It is noon. We can see the snow is coming from the Lake.

This is only 20 minutes later.

At one o'clock, I am going to help Jan with the construction of the fire trucks. This is a lot of snow in a short while.

We are starting the assembly of the frames.

At the end of the day, we have accomplished a lot.

This is the million dollars view!

My pretty Michele.

I am helping Jan all day today.
This is the result of our work at the end of the day.

Again, we have accomplished a lot of work.

Thursday, January 28, 2021

I am back with Jan today.
This is at lunchtime.

And at five o'clock.

Natasha, the explorer! Natasha loves her headlamp.

Some photos of Natasha at the Pomme d'Api daycare in Moose Jaw, SK.
Ice cubes, so much fun.

Why not some food on my head!

She has the artistic side of her aunt, Erin?

Michele got this photo from our Benoit.

And I? I spent the day at Jan's shop helping with the fire trucks. I am having fun. I am not good with wood. I do not measure wood. I do not cut wood. I only screw screws when assembling. I tell you, there are tons of screws in a fire truck. I am learning a lot with Jan.

They are looking more and more like a truck.

What is missing from the wall?

A nice rose!

Michele bought it from FB Market Place.

Saturday, January 30, 2021

We are not working on the fire trucks this weekend.
I am cooking bacon for tonight's meal. Jannie and Jan are coming over for supper.

We are having Swiss Cheese fondue with three types of breads, green apples, bacon, small potatoes, broccoli, mushroom and small tomatoes.

This is the first time we have a cheese fondue with something else than bread and potatoes. Apple and bacon is delicious.
We had a great evening.

Sunday, January 31, 2021

Last evening, late, we had this not so bright idea to have our picture taken, in our bathing suit, by the pool today.
Yes, that pool!

Regardless of our mental state at the time. We said we would do it, we did!
It is -7° C with a light wind from the Lake. On our way to the pool.

Who had this bright idea?

Jannie and Jan uploaded the photos to the North Shore RV Park Facebook page. It did not take long for the comments to appear.

We had quite a show this afternoon. Two foxes came and played in the front yard for half an hour. What show!

The photos are not very clear because the screens are in the windows.

We have leftover tonight, num, num.

It was a good week.

Until next time.

Life is good...
