We had another snowstorm last night. We got between 6 and 8 inches of new snow. It was the wind that made it worst.

This is the snowbank in front of the garage doors. It was too much for our car.
The tracks you see are from the Kubota RTV.

Here he comes! It is a good thing the Kubota RTV has four-wheel drive. Our road is not plowed by the county. It is a private road. One of the residents plow it. Patricia plows the driveway once she is done with all the other driveways. We have no problems with that. Jan came and picked me up to go back to his shop.

This is the stretch of road that is not plowed by the county (the red ligne). The blue line is our driveway.

The results after a day's work.

It is moving along very well.

Back to work.

I really enjoy doing this type of work. I am learning a lot.

Thursday, February 18, 2021

Michelle had the car today. She came to pick me up. At the same time, check out our progress.

Will we be all done tomorrow?

Natasha is a very independent little girl. She wants to eat her yogurt by herself...

She is too cute.

Kristin got her first vaccine today. Great!

We tried, but we could not get everything done by the end of the day.
The last parts to go on the fire trucks requires more work to complete.
It is the small details that slowed us down.

Tomorrow we should be done.

Saturday, February 20, 2021

We have a lot of hares here. We also have a lot of foxes.
One hare sunning himself.

At eleven-thirty, the 4 fire trucks are completed.

The four fire trucks are going to join the other 7  fire trucks in the backyard.

Just beautiful!
Jan and I are pretty proud of ourselves.
By the way, they are all sold. More may have to be built...

Now that the photo shoot is done, we can clean up the shop.
We also brought one fire truck to use as a reference if we build more fire trucks.

By two-thirty, we were all done.

Natasha is not very impressed by the snow or being outside.

You cannot really see it, but the snow was sparkling because of the sun.

Just us!

At the end of the afternoon, we skyped with Kristin, Jeremy and Natasha.

We have a quiet Sunday at home.
I still go out and run the generator on the MH for an hour. All is well.

Jannie and Jan came over for a Taco supper.
As usual, we had a good time with lots of laughter.

Today is a snow day, no school. I mean no work! It has been snowing, raining and snowing again, all night and day.
The driveway is full of snow, heavy snow. Patricia will not come to plow it until later in the afternoon.
We are not complaining. It is included in the rent.

I was supposed to go to the Service Ontario office today to change our registration of our "new to us" car, the Sonic, but not today.
Patricia came by to plow the driveway around supper time. Thanks, Patricia.

A forced day of rest.

I dropped off our car at a local garage so they could install the "baseplate" on the car. It is the piece between the car and the tow bar, from the MH. It allows us to tow our car behind the MH. They will do it tomorrow. In the meantime, Jan lets me borrow the RTV Kubota for lunch. Thanks Jan.

The lumber Jan has ordered for the next three fire trucks and one big "wrecker" (tow truck) arrived before lunch.
Once all the lumber was in the shop, we spend the afternoon cutting the pieces for the three fire trucks.
All the lumber is wet and frozen.

Natasha is cooking. She is making Pizza and chicken for supper.

It was a good day.

Wednesday, February 24, 2021

Jan and I spend the day assembling and cutting more lumber for the fire trucks. The trucks are coming along pretty fast.
The snow is melting. The geese are coming to shore and eat the grass.

The Sonic is ready. The baseplate is installed. Looks good. Thanks, Jannie and Jan.
I will do the wiring for the rear lights on the car when the weather warms up.

Since our "new to us" car is a 2018, we decided to get a rust prevention treatment at the local Krown shop. This is a photo from last summer.

This is where we are at the end of the day.

Natasha is having fun in her toy box.

Thursday, February 25, 2021

With only three fire trucks to build and the experience we acquired, it goes pretty fast. It also helps that we have a completed fire truck in the shop to refer to.

This is a box of "wheel nuts" for the wheels.

Natasha, the artist.

Michele was very lucky today. She got to observe a fox hunting a muskrat.

The muskrat escaped.

Friday, February 26, 2021

Things are moving along pretty fast. But we have learned that it is the details at the end that slows us down.

Just like before, I wrote our names and date plus COVID-19 on the back of a board. It was installed where nobody will see it. Only if someone is dismantling the truck.

Saturday, February 27, 2021

I only worked half a day today. We should be done building the three fire trucks on Monday morning.

This is Jeremy with his big catch.

Jeremy is taking a nap after fishing. Where is he?

Sunday, February 28, 2021

A day at home, almost.
Michele found some sandals for me on Market Place (FB). They are Columbia and new, for only $20.  You cannot go wrong, so off she goes to pick them up.

Until next time.

Life is good...
