We are done with the windows!

We had a good chat with our youngest son, Benoit.

We got two photos of Natasha. On the first, it is right after she got her first COVID vaccine. Not a happy girl.
On the second, she is home because she is sick, not because of COVID.

It is the Tamales Festival in the small town of Somerton, about 30 minutes from the campground.
We are going with our friends Gaétan, Michelle, Dennis and Gail.

Our crazy friends!

It took a few photos to have all of us in the picture.

Even if it is just open, it is packed.
What is this festival?
About forty food stands sell Tamales. You vote for the best place, they will be crowned the best for a year.

They have two stages set up at either end of the main street. The first one is for bands. The second is for local groups performing dances, music, etc.

What is a Tamale?
According to Wikipedia.
Tamale is an anglicized version of the Spanish word tamal (plural: tamales. Tamal comes from the Nahuatl tamalli. The English "tamale" is a back-formation of tamales, with English speakers interpreting the -e- as part of the stem, rather than part of the plural suffix -es.

Do we like Tamales? Not really.

But we still had fun with our friends.

Back home, we decorated our MH.

We forgot it was the Light Parade in the neighbourhood.
People from the area RV Parks and residential area decorate their side-by-side and drive around.
Sorry for the quality of the photos. It was pretty.

It was a busy day.

Sunday, December 18, 2022.

This is the Park Model our friends bought.

Today is paint day. Michele and I do the corners and hard to reach areas. Judith does the bulk of the painting.

Michele and the windows we cleaned.

Michele is hard at work.

We are almost done painting. Tomorrow we only have to give a second coat in the bedroom.

Natasha with Santa.

We had a good week.

Monday, December 19, 2022

We are back to painting.

Éric is hard at work.

We are done with the painting.

Tuesday, December 20, 2022.

This is a photo from Kristin's office in Comox, B.C.

We are not helping Éric and Judith today.
The new flooring is being installed.

Dennis, Gaétan and Éric are the installers.

The floor is very nice.

Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

We are moving sites today, goodbye site 135.

Before we get to our new site, we go to the propane filling station.

Michele uses that time to redecorate the MH.

After the propane station, we set up at our new site, number 104.
This is where we will place the 5th Wheel when we get it in March.

Across the street from us.

We are happy with our site. We are close to all the activities.

Later in the day, we skyped with our friends France and Michel.

It was a good day.

Thursday, December 22, 2022.

Michele is playing bean bag this morning.

As for me?
I help Éric.

I install the toilet and bathroom sink.

Éric is working on the wall where his TV will be mounted.

I will show you photos when it is completed.

WOW! A day without photos!

Saturday, December 24, 2022.

We do the Happy Hour on the patio with friends.

For Christmas Eve, we are invited to Gaétan and Michelle's place for a fondue.

You have to have a crazy photo.

We had a great time with our friends.

Sunday, December 25, 2022.

Merry Christmas to all!

Some photos of Natasha's Christmas.

She jumped so much on her new trampoline that she had to take a nap on it.

The RV Park has a Christmas supper for the campers.
Who do we go with?

The meal was excellent. Thank you, Western Sands RV Park and all the volunteers who cooked the meals.

With our belly full of good food, we stayed on the patio and the fire pits with other happy people.

It was a great Christmas.

Monday, December 26, 2022

The day after Christmas is always relaxed.

Tuesday, December 27, 2022.

We are going for another hike. This time it is the "Old Senator Loop" on the other side of the Colorado River, in California.
We are with our friends Gaétan and Michelle.

Let's go!

We are full of energy at the start of the hike.

The trail is not very hard, but keeping to the path is hard. Multiple trails crisscross the main pathway.

Our first stop will be at the oasis.

The oasis is dry...

Michelle is inspecting one of the many mines going into the mountain.

At times, it seems like we are on the moon.

You have lots of life in the Sonoran Desert.

A vertical mine shaft.

Lunch is at the actual Old Senator Mine site.

The desert always surprises us, this time with pink stones.

Can you see the donkey?

Here he is!
It is wild.

He does not like us being there.
Gaétan had to scare him away from the trail.

We can see the Colorado River.

We can see an RV Park by the dam.

This is where our future, new to us, 5th Wheel is at this time.
Can you see it?

Here she is!

The two must-have photos at the end of the hike.

This is the hike we did.
The purple line is the hike. The red arrow is where our 5th wheel is located.

Our hike was a little over 5 km.
It was a good hike.

It is bingo night. The lady calling the bingo has a very high-pitched voice. This makes my tinnitus go through the roof.
I had to leave at half-time.

Michele stayed and won one bingo. It was $21.

It was a good day.

Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

It was a day when not much happened.
Back in Comox, Gabriel has arrived at Jeremy and Kristin's house for the holiday.
Natasha loves her big brother.

All the snow has melted in Comox. The wind is blowing hard.

The whole family.

Even if it's a gloomy day, they still visited many places.

All the photos are from different days.
She stays close to her brother.

Another windy day in Comox.

On their way to Maple Lake.

They went to Mont Washington and did some snowshoeing.
Mount Washington is only about 45 minutes from their home.

Thursday, December 29, 2022.

The big event for today was playing Bean Bag.

Friday, December 30, 2022.

The big event for today was happy hour on the patio.

Saturday, December 31, 2022.

Humm, the last day of 2022.

Gaétan and Michelle have friends with an orange tree on their lot. They had too many oranges, so they gave us some.
They are very juicy and sweet. They have some grapefruit trees too.

Almost every evening, we have nice sunsets.

Party Time!
Jannie and Jan arrived two days ago. They are spending New Year's Eve with us.

The music was very good.

A lady from the Park did a little skit for us.

Our table of friends.

Jannie and Jan skyped with their daughter. Michelle keeps an eye on things.

It is midnight!
Happy New Year!

Everyone had bubbly wine, gave hugs to everyone and had fun.

We had so much food, good food.

We had a great evening with friends.

Until next year.

Life is good...
