1 to 15 September 2023   16 to 30 September 2023

Friday, September 1, 2023.

We are in Campbell River this morning. We tour the thrift shops.
We had lunch at the Seabreeze. We had fish & Chips. They were good.

It is not going well to fix the leaks.
The new kitchen faucet cost $49.
Two new valves and joiners by Sharkbites. It is fixed at a cost of $75, not including the faucet!!!

Kristin will be leaving us tomorrow morning at around 5 a.m. She will fly to Montreal and bus to Saint-Jean for her Officer Cadet Basic Training School. She will be there for about 3 months.
We are keeping Natasha with us for the night. Natasha does not realize Mommy is leaving for a while.
She has a big snack while watching a movie with grand-maman.

Saturday, September 2, 2023.

Kristin left early this morning.
Here she is in Calgary, waiting for her flight to Montreal.

Another normal morning for us.

Michele found a sofa that should fit in our trailer. The one we currently have is terrible.
We took Natasha with us to check it out. We checked it out. It will fit in our trailer.
We had to wait for Jeremy to get off work and get it with his trailer.

Natasha Loves to paint. Will she be like her Auntie Erin?

While Natasha was napping, Michele found a jug of moisture remover for free on Market Place. It would cost about $19 to buy it.

After Jeremy is done napping with Natasha, we remove the old sofa from the trailer.

And pick up the new (to us) sofa.

It fits perfectly in the trailer. It looks dirty in the photos, but it is clean and not worn.

Jeremy had a good idea. We went to the Comox Splash Park for supper.

Saturday is sleepover time for Natasha.

She watches the movie in a different position...

We play make-believe that we are sleeping...

Sunday, September 3, 2023.

This is who I saw when I stepped out of our room. She slept until 7:25.

Every now and then, Natasha has part of my breakfast.

She makes some funny faces at times.

Stepping in the snow with her Frozen shoes.

Jeremy and Natasha are working on a tie-dye T-shirt.

Jeremy made one big snack before bedtime.

Another good week.

Monday, September 4, 2023

Natasha Does not go to daycare because it is a holiday.
Here she is with her balance bike. She ran out of energy.

Later, she tried her regular bike and showed no interest in learning how to peddle.

She loves helping grand-maman with household chores.

After Natasha's nap, we all went to Mont Washington.
Mount Washington is 1,588 metres, or 5,210 feet high.

We are at Mount Washington Alpine Resort.
During the ski season, sometimes they have to plow under the chairlift because the snow is too high. On average, they receive about 10 meters of snow over the winter.

We are using the chairlift to go up to the top.
Natasha can come on the chairlift with adults.

This is where we are going.

Off we go!

Yep, they have a bra tree.

In some areas, it is pretty steep.

Natasha is not scared, but she holds on our hands.

It is hard to see in the picture, but they have many inukshuks in this area.

Jeremy and Natasha are building one. I asked Natasha if she could be one of the inukshuk.

When we came off the chairlift, Natasha saw this gentleman. She asked us what is Santa doing there.
We had a good laugh.

This stump seems to have the face of a lady in it.

The view.

We are higher than some clouds.

In the summer, the resort turns into a mountain bike heaven.

A father and daughter moment.

The gray gays are not afraid of people. They eat out of your hands.

It is time to go back down.

We are over 5,000 feet high.

Another low cloud.

The shoes are going down.

One of many mountain bike trails.

Natasha is trying to play badminton.

This is Tiberio. He is from Mexico City.

The coddler's.

It was a busy day.

Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

We are at our new doctor for our first appointment. It is to get to know each other and gather info on our health history. He was  surprised at our lack of major medical issues. We are not demanding patients. He seems nice. We will see him again in spring after we come back from Yuma.

Michele found this cape for Natasha.

Natasha loves to eat.

After supper, Jeremy, Natasha and grand-maman go to Fairy Lane.

Natasha brought a house and a few painted rocks.

She has good snacks.

We got a call from someone who would like to visit our MH.

Wednesday, September 6, 2023.

We arrive at the MH a little earlier to reconnect the batteries so we can open the slides.

After a few minutes with the people who came to view the MH. We realized they are not the type of people to own such a MH. The gentleman could hardly go up the stairs. It was even harder to go down. They are nice people, and we talked for a while. We do not think they will buy it.

We just got back from daycare with Natasha.

Natasha is making a card for her mommy. We will mail it tomorrow.

Natasha's supper.

She ate well. She loves the Jello.

Kristin sent us photos of her in her new uniform.

Natasha is with us in the trailer tonight. Jeremy starts to work before 7 tomorrow morning.

Thursday, September 7, 2023.

Natasha had a good night in the trailer. She loves her bed in the trailer.

Natasha is mailing her first letter to Mommy in Saint-Jean.

Jeremy started early again today, and we have Natasha with us again. We love it.

We are pretending to sleep to fool grand-maman.

Friday, September 8, 2023.

Jeremy is off until Monday morning.

Just before we took Natasha to daycare.

The daycare is about 200 m. from the house.

Jeremy is doing something special tonight. They are camping in the living room. They will watch a movie and the fireplace at the same time. Natasha is a big help in setting up the tent.

Saturday, September 9, 2023.

Natasha loved her camping night.

Jeremy, Natasha and I are in town for some shopping.
We had to stop at Cinnsational Bakery for some cinnamon buns.

Our friends, Jan and Jannie, are on their way to the Island.
They are near Dryden at the Wabigoon Lake RV Park.

She loves the electric scooter.

They have a Fair at the base gym.
Natasha loves fire trucks.

The firefighters had this set up to allow you to practice the steps for a safe exit from a house in case of fire.
Smoke included.

Inside the gym, they had boots with all kinds of clubs. They even had some games for the small kids.

Natasha is at the spa...

Grand-maman and Natasha went to the playground for a while.

Saturday night is the real sleepover time. Movie and snacks in grand-maman's bed.

We think she is starting a cold.

Jeremy went fishing at Maple Lake, but no fish.

Sunday, September 10, 2023.

Natasha had a good night's sleep. She even played a trick on me. Sometime after 7:10 a.m., I went to check her out.
Where is she? She hid under the blanket and scared me.

Poor Natasha has a stuffy nose because of all the smoke in the air. She may be starting a cold also.
We went for a walk at the Heritage Air Park near the house.

She had fun at home too.

Keeping up with the news.

Natasha went to the birthday party of one of her friends from daycare. She had a lot of fun.

Maybe too much fun!

Michele prepared some escargot (snails) as an entree. It was very good.

Jeremy always combed her hair differently after her bath.

Monday, September 11, 2023

Natasha's daycare uses the Brightwheel application to sign in and out the children. It is also used for communicating with parents, messages, and photos of the children activities.
Here is an example of a photo we receive.

Michele bought a mermaid tail for Natasha. Natasha loves mermaids.

Nothing beats watching a mermaid movie with a mermaid tail.

In the late afternoon, the sun hits the carpet in the living room. It reflects on the mermaid's tail, and it makes a light show on the ceiling.

Jeremy was supposed to work until 9 tonight.
Surprise! He came home while Natasha was in the bath. She is very happy.

She is showing off her mermaid tail to Daddy.

She has to make faces too!

She is not sleeping in the trailer tonight.

Michele and I were busy around the trailer today.

Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

It is the "Balloon Disco Dance Party" at the daycare.

They are introduced to the days of the week and the months of the year. Natasha loves daycare.

Regardless of the weather, they go outside and play.

We have an appointment at the garage tomorrow morning for the out-of-province inspection of the MH. We took it out of storage because it will be easier to drive to the garage in the morning.

It was a wet and gray day.

Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

Natasha slept in the trailer last night. Here she is at 7 in the morning.

I am at OK Tire first thing this morning for the inspection of the MH.

While they were working on the MH, I went to A&W for breakfast. The A&W is right next to the Sunwest RV Dealer. I decided to talk to them about a consignment sale for the MH. They seem interested in selling it for us. I will come back with Michele and talk to them some more before we decide.

The MH passed the inspection without any issues. The next step is to get the registration/plates from B.C. (British Colombia). The "issuer" is in a small strip mall. They physically have to look at the V.I.N. number to issue the registration/plates. I had to park the MH in the gravel parking lot. It is a good I am not stressed driving in a shopping mall parking lot with the MH. In less than 20 minutes the paperwork is all done.
We are now registered/plated in B.C.

Natasha loves ballet.

I even danced with her. I am not gifted in ballet, or at least not graceful.

Jeremy is off, and Natasha is happy.

Thursday, September 14, 2023.

After Jeremy dropped off Natasha at daycare, he left and picked up some friends to go mountain biking for the morning.

Since we were alone, I tackled the repair of the booth seat in the afternoon.
It was assembled with staples.
I took it apart and removed the staples.

I used screws to put it back together. It is much stronger now.

I took the opportunity to readjust the top piece. Next year, we will probably change the covering.

The next project is adding two shelves to this cabinet.

A while back, I bought a ticket for the show West Coast Chicago.
Michele is not coming with me. She does not care for this tribute band for Chicago.

I really enjoyed the show.

Friday, September 15, 2023.

We received the top part of the skylight we ordered a few weeks ago.
Today, I am replacing the old one with the new one.
We have a very small leak at the skylight. The old part is brittle.

It is easy to remove, but the old sealant is not easy to remove. It just takes time.

It is ready for the new top part.

I ordered it from Amazon.ca. Surprise, it came from Quebec.

Why black sealant? Simply because I had it on my hands and I had no other place to use it. At $15 per tube, you use the one you have first.
Nobody will see this from the ground anyway.

While I was up here, I installed the three vent covers.

This is what I installed on the roof today.

Since the white sealant tube is open, I added sealant to all the other parts I installed a few weeks ago.

When Natasha got back from daycare, she wanted to dance ballet. It was grand-maman's turn to dance with her.

I showed Natasha how to make hearts with the paper napkins. She did it almost by herself.

Because Jeremy is working this evening, we keep Natasha for the night, actually until Monday morning.
Natasha is not complaining.

I almost forgot we had to move the MH from one storage area to another across the street.
It turns out better for us.

Until next time.

Life is good...
