1 to 15 October 2023   16 to 31 October 2023

Sunday, October 1st, 2023.

Natasha and I are hiking at the Brooklyn Creek Park trail.
The trail is in the middle of a residential area, but it feels like you are in a forest.

Let's go!

In less than 10 metres in, we came across this nice buck. He was not nervous.

Sometimes I wonder what goes on inside a 3 year old kid.
She asked me if she could run from one side to the other many times? Sure, go girl!

The Brooklyn Creek from the bridge.

We had to stop for a snack.
Her definition of splitting in two is not 50/50, but rather 60/40 for her. She is funny.

She was not too sure about this.

Even Natasha noticed the trees were very tall.

This is the end of the trail. It is time to turn around.

The water level was higher after the last rains we had. Pink salmons went up the creek.

Natasha and I really liked this trail.

After a good nap with Daddy, Natasha and Jeremy placed the Halloween decorations in the house.

And outside too.

After this hard work, time to play.

And time to relax.

Jeremy tried Jannie's e-bike.

Monday, October 2, 2023

Jeremy is not working today. Natasha is at daycare.
It is supposed to rain all day today. This will stop Jeremy, Mike and Nicole from going riding.

This is one part of the trails they ride on. It is pretty neat. This photo is from the internet, not of Jeremy or his friends.

Natasha wants a fort so she can put all her subjects in it.

The queen is in her castle.

Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

Natasha is making a strawberry cake at daycare.

Jeremy is out mountain biking again this morning. He is working from noon to midnight.

I went to check out Jannie and Jan's MH this morning.
I tried the e-bike at the same time. It is an e-bike with fat tires.
I did 14.5 km with the e-bike. I am not sure if I like it or not. It is probably because of the fat tires.
It rides differently. More to follow.

We have a group of wasps at the back basement door.
I made a homemade wasp repellent. I hope it works.

Michele went shopping in the local thrift stores.

Wednesday, October 4, 2023.

We received a photo from Gabriel. He was at the hospital because of a possibly broken bone in his hand.

After supper, Natasha and grand-maman went to the playground near the house.

She's got a bubble bath eye.

Since Jeremy is working late today, Natasha is sleeping in the trailer with us.
It is story time.

She is now ready for the night. She has her mommy doll with her.

We will be dropping our MH at the dealership so they can sell it for us.
More info tomorrow.

Thursday, October 5, 2023.

Almost every day, we receive photos of Natasha from the daycare.

We are going to the RV dealer to drop off the MH.

Basically, they promise a fixed price coming to us for the MH when they sell it. Whatever they sell it above what we get, they keep.
They take care of all the paperwork and fix the little stuff on the MH. They seem very confident they will sell it.
I think they may have a few potential buyers.

I did have some butterflies in my stomach when I drove the MH to the RV dealer.
I realize it was the last time I was driving our MH.

After we picked up Natasha at daycare. We walked to the post office.
She is mailing a BIG letter to her mom. I have to say, the lady at the post office was very nice. She showed Natasha where the stamps needed to go on the envelope.

And the letter is off to mommy.

After supper, if time permits, Natasha and grand-maman go to the playground.

On our way back, we detoured by the ice rink and the snow in the back.
We are throwing snowballs at each other.
For a three years old little girl, she can throw a snowball pretty accurately.

Natasha is at the Nail Salon.

We are tricking grand-maman. We pretend to sleep.

Tomorrow, Jeremy will be off for three days.

Friday, October 6, 2023.

Another photo from the daycare.

Jeremy went fishing this morning. He caught his first cod. It is 30 inches long.

How to fillet a cod? Jeremy checked out the videos on YouTube.

We got to work on our bed base. It was breaking apart.

I have to change the piece of wood at the head of the bed and solidify the two pieces on either side.

The piece of lumber at the head of the bed should have been a 2X2, but they put two pieces of 1X2 screwed together.
To save money, they used very few screws, so it broke apart. I replaced it with a "real" 2x2 this time.

This is the view from under the bed with the bed base put together.

I added screws to the side pieces to solidify them.

In less than two hours, it was all done.

We received an Amazon package today.
I ordered a replacement screen for the bathroom vent. In five minutes, it was replaced.

Natasha loves forts.

We had a feast of cod for supper.

It is a special night for Natasha. She is sleeping with Daddy in the living room in the beach shelter.

It was a good day.

Saturday, October 7, 2023.

We are at the Strathcona Provincial Park this morning. We will be hiking a short trail.

A sign of time, no cigarette, vaping or pot smoking on the trails.

It is about time!

It is a very beautiful trail.
Get ready to look at many photos.

This is the trail we walked.

Natasha is still full of energy after the walk.

But once at home, she got tired.

Sunday, October 8, 2023.

Jeremy went mountain biking with his friends.
Natasha is very good with us.

We decided to go and check the arena to see if a hockey game was on. No luck for us.

We went back to the ice in the back of the arena. Natasha can throw really hard for a 3 year old.
She is pretty accurate too.

Back home, she helped grand-maman do some house cleaning.

She plays well by herself but likes it more if we are close to her.

Grilled cheese sandwiches are always a winner with kids.

She had a nap with grand-maman in the trailer. After that, she went biking with her dad.

She cuddles and she can play by herself, it changes all the time.

Monday, October 9, 2023.

Natasha's daycare is closed today. Jeremy is working from noon to midnight.
We had fun with Natasha.

Jeremy and Natasha do some pumpkin colouring.

Natasha will be sleeping in the trailer until Jeremy is off again.
Natasha went to Walmart with us. She was so good at the stores. Grand-maman bought her a small doll.
What a beautiful and bright PJ.

Tuesday, October 10, 2023.

The weather is not really good here, rain, winds all day.
Natasha at daycare.

I bought a new macerator pump on Amazon. It came early, which is good. Our tanks were full.
It runs on 12 volts DC. It even has an on/off switch. It has a flush connection.
It is working really good so far. It was money well spent (126$).

Natasha with her pigtail and with the pigtail removed.

She is a little grumpy at supper time. We are not sure why.

By the time she got to the trailer, she was fine.

Wednesday, October 11, 2023.

This morning, I went to check out Jannie and Jan's MH. I went with the e-bike
They are still in Ontario.

This looks better than a regular fence.

Thursday, October 12, 2023.

A photo from daycare.

After daycare, she does a lot of colouring.

Jeremy went mountain biking with friends this morning.
They are at the Mount Washington Alpine Resort.

On one of the trails, they came across this shack in the middle of nowhere.
When they noticed the head on the door, they went in.

Someone has "hunted" this shack for fun.

Friday, October 13, 2023.

Natasha's group at daycare went on a "spooky tour" in the neighbourhood. The kids loved it.

This is to show you how close the house is to the daycare.

The kids are having fun building a house.

Meanwhile, Michele does some sewing with our new (to us) Kenmore sewing machine.
We bought it from a thrift store for about $20. We had to buy a "foot" for $6 to make it functional.
It is working, no problems.

Natasha is quite hungry tonight.

I went to see a show with a Robin Williams impersonator.
This is the show...
The Ultimate Robin Williams Tribute Experience.

It is not the Robin Williams in the photo, but the impersonator.
The show was very good. Michele did not come to this show. He is not one of her favourites.

But Natasha was with grand-maman in the trailer.
Jeremy is working tonight.

Saturday, October 14, 2023.

Jeremy finished working past midnight.
Natasha and I went to play outside so Jeremy could sleep in a little longer.
She found this ribbon and loved running with it. The wind sure helped.

Back home, Natasha got into colouring.

She loves to give a hand to grand-maman.

After the nap, we went to the local McDonald's for a snack and some play time in the play place.

We had a McFlurry, it is always good.

She was back to colouring when we got home. This time, she is colouring in the BIG colouring book.

Since we are Saturday, it is the real "Sleepover" night. That means watching TV in bed with grand-maman, and snacks in bed.

Natasha is very easy to look after in the trailer. She is a good girl.

Sunday, October 15, 2023.

Because Jeremy works weird hours, he tries to spend as much time as possible with Natasha in the morning.

Natasha and stickers, a love story!

It is unbelievable how she loves sleeping.

I love napping too. Natasha loves waking us up.

It is time to play at the playground.

Around 3, we headed to the arena. The arena is about 5 minutes walk from the house.

I think it is her first time watching a hockey game.
She must have loved it. She told us she was going to play when she grows up.

Natasha informed us that tonight was a special night. She wanted to have supper in front of the TV. Sure, we said.

Because it is a special night, we have a chocolate fondue for dessert.

She is back in the trailer for the night. For the next two nights, she will be in the house because Jeremy is off.

Until next time.

Life is good...
