1 to 15 June 2023   16 to 30 June 2023

Thursday, June 1, 2023.

I started to wash the remainder of the MH early before it got too hot.
I usually wash the MH shortly after we arrive from our trip back from Yuma. This spring was on the cold side because of the wind coming off Lake Ontario.

We spent the afternoon in the small town of Cobourg.
Michele shopped in the many thrift stores. I went to Staples and bought a new laptop.

It is Thursday Pub Night at the campground. Michele did not come this time around. She is into crocheting and watching tennis on TV.

Friday, June 2, 2023.

Surprise! I am not cutting the grass at Jannie and Jan's place. This is their employee.

Michele and I went to two yard sales this morning.
We had lunch at the park once again. Thank you, Jannie, for the invitation.
It is a very hot day, +31° C.
I spent most of the day installing my software and moving files to the new laptop.

Natasha is playing with her friends at daycare.

Saturday, June 3, 2023.

We spent the morning at the Kenron Estate, a very nice mobile home park, and a yearly yard sale.
I spent more money than Michele!

It is not as hot as the last few days, but the wind blows hard.

It is the first time Natasha removes the shell from her hardboiled egg.

As a princess or a cat?

Sunday, June 4, 2023.

A day at the beach.

Natasha is helping her dad build a castle.

Natasha is a busy girl.

She even had a birthday party to attend.

She has so much fun.

Michele is crocheting and watching tennis on TV.

I am a tennis widow, so I nap.

We spent part of the afternoon with Jannie and Jan on the back patio.
Jannie even offered us dinner. A homemade pizza, sure!

The pizza oven is above 700° F. The pizza cooks in about 15 to 20 seconds.

It is a very good pizza.

Thank you, Jannie, for the good pizza.

We are still waiting for the test results. We are not leaving for Comox until then.

Monday, June 5, 2023

I called the doctor's office to inquire about Michele's ultrasound results. Kim, the secretary, found the results after some searching. She told me she put it in his basket with a note to get back to us soonest.

Natasha as a cat?

Jan is currently building two Adirondack/Muskoka chairs for the Park.
They are big.

Tuesday, June 6, 2023.

It was just a day at home.
We had shrimps we bought in Rocky Point, Mexico.

Wednesday, June 7, 2023.

Another day with smoke in the air. This time around, the smoke is from Quebec.

One spoiled little girl with her dad.

Last night, Jan asked me if I wanted to help build a deck with him. Sure! It is for a seasonal camper in the Park.  Jan, Andrew and I worked until 3 pm when a fourth joined us at the construction.
This is where we are at by 3pm.

I got a call from the doctor today. He explained what it was. He needs another ultrasound done in three months as a follow-up. We can leave for Comox in the next few days.

Thursday, June 8, 2023.

My pretty Michele showing off her new haircut.

You can tell Natasha is not a happy girl.

I worked on the deck with Jan all morning. We are not finished by noon, but Michele and I need to get ready to leave for Comox tomorrow. Mason came after lunch to help Jan finish the deck.
Doesn't it look good?

I really enjoy working with Jan. He taught me so much, thanks Jan.

Jan and Jannie invited us for dinner at Tomasso's in Trenton. The food is always good here.

On our way back to go to the Pub Night at the Park. We made a stop at the Park store. Patricia said I could get a hat and a T-shirt for free since I gave them a hand a few times. Very generous of them, thank you. After that, we did go to the Pub Night and had a few brews.

A good day. We are anxious to leave.

Friday, June 9, 2023.

Ready to go!

Jan could not be here this morning. He had an appointment in town. So we said goodbye last night. It is Jannie, Patricia and Andrew's turn to say goodbye. We will miss you guys.

Less than fifteen minutes after we left, we stopped at our first stop, Propane!

The road is good. We had no wind but some smoke.

It had to happen. We had a light rain for about 10 minutes, just enough to make the MH and car really dirty.

As I have said, we had no wind but smoky skies.

The nice place we see along the way.

Our first night is at Walmart in the Temiskaming Shores area,  more precisely, New Liskeard.

It was a good day on the road.

Saturday, June 10, 2023.

Our "campsite" for the night.

We left the Walmart by 7: 45. We had smoke all the way to Cochrane. After Cochrane, the wind picked up, but the smoke disappeared.

The things you see.

We fill the MH again in Cochrane's Canadian Tire. We made a quick stop at the Walmart in Kapuskacing.

Guess who is this? No, it is not Jannie and Jan's MH. It sure looks like the one they have.

One more fill-up for the MH in Hearst. This one is just a top up to make.
More stuff we see along the roads.

Our next home is in Longlac, but our friend Andy is not home at this time. He is visiting his family.

I think this trucker is happy to have made it to Longlac.

Another good day on the road.

Sunday, June 11, 2023.

This was our home for the night.

Northern Ontario is a boring drive with lots of trees. From this point on, all the water will flow to the Atlantic Ocean.

I do not know why, but we take photos of the same things every time we drive by!

Lots of trees, but over the next curve, you see this, WOW!

We made it to the big, little village of Nipigon.

We stopped just before Thunder Bay, at the Flying J, to fill the MH. After that, we should be good until Winnipeg.

The province of Manitoba and northwestern Ontario joined together to create the "Heart Of Canada Touring Route". I think it is a good thing.

The monster mosquito with his lunch.

We are spending the night at a truck scale near Vermillion Bay.
We had more bugs on the windshield today.

Our pretty Natasha having fun at the beach.

Monday, June 12, 2023

We left a little earlier than expected this morning. The people from MTO (Ministry of Transportation Ontario) came and asked us to leave because they were setting up a temporary scale inspection station. We were in the way.

We taught most of the road construction was done, but no, it is still going on in many places.

Goodbye Ontario, hello Manitoba.

Oh dear, they are finally fixing the main roads in Manitoba!
We are lucky. We have no winds and no smoke in the area. Great for driving.

We are back on a divided highway too. I am not driving faster, but it makes it easy for others to go around us.

Our first stop in Manitoba is at the Centre of Canada.

The famous red chairs of Park Canada.
Michele is doing the pose!

And me, taking it easy...

Good looking couple!

We are on our way to Winnipeg. Actually, more towards Île des Chênes, south of Winnipeg, to visit our Yuma friends Dennis and Gail.
They welcomed us with a nice hamburger supper and good conversation. It is good to see them again.

Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

Dennis and Gail. Dennis had a knee replacement about 5 weeks ago. He is doing very well and healing fast.
The good photo and the crazy photo.

Dennis cannot go up ladders yet, so I helped him install a solar panel on the roof of their new truck camper.

Another good supper with good friends.

We decided to buy an app. It is like a guide when you travel by car. You then connect via blue tooth to your car's radio. We can't wait to try it out tomorrow.

This one of the sections we purchased all dots are where information will be given. It is GPS driven. This section is from Lac Louise to Revelstoke.

Wednesday, June 14, 2-23.

We are leaving our friends Dennis and Gail this morning. We were on the site next to them.
We are on our way to Regina.

One more fill-up just outside of Winnipeg. It was time because I only had 25 litres left in the tank.

The Manitoba road in this area is not bad. The city of Winnipeg's roads are just horrible.
We still have smoke in the air.

From the Manitoba/Saskatchewan border to Regina, we listen to the new app, Tripvia Tours. We like it.

Getting to our next campground was not easy. We took the right exit and followed the signs to the campground, only to find one of the roads closed. So, after a 15 km detour to get to the other side of the closed road, we are in the campground.

Our friends Charles and Agnes are on a trip to British Colombia. They happen to be in Regina at the same time as us. They came over for supper and catching up on each other's lives.

Thank you, Charles and Agnes, for dropping by. I am sure we will reconnect in a short while.

Thursday, June 15, 2023.

Our campground and site near Regina. We were here once before.

We are invited to John and Audrey's for supper tonight.
But first, we stopped at a few thrift stores.

We stop at Minhas to purchase some refreshments.

We also stopped at Bianca Amor Liquidation Store.

Darn, we forgot to take some photos with John and Audrey.
Thank you for the good supper and good conversation.

Until next time.

Life is good...
