Friday, June 16, 2023.

We really enjoy the Tripvia Tours app.

We are back on the road by 7h 45. We have a lot of smoke. The wind is picking up.

Moose Jaw, this time we are not stopping here.

After Moose Jaw, the wind picked up some more with high wind gusts.

The things you see out west.

Time for more gas in Swift Current.

Our goal for today was to make it just before Calgary.

The wind and smoke are increasing a lot. The wind gusts are making it more difficult driving.

Goodbye, Saskatchewan.

Good day, Alberta.

We are going to stop at the Walmart in Medicine Hat after all. The wind gusts are at more than 50 km/h. It is no fun to drive a MH in this.

On the bright side, nothing beats an ice cream cone.

Saturday, June 17, 2023.

Our home last night.

After looking at the weather forecast last night, we decided to leave earlier this morning. We hope we will have less high winds early in the morning.
We hit the road by 6 o'clock.

I decided to take the road going through Calgary vice going around.

It was a bad decision. I did not realize it was not a highway.

But we see stuff!

Like the Winter Olympic Park of 1988.

We are finally out of Calgary, Banff, here we come.

Shortly after leaving Calgary, we started to see the Canadian Rockies.

Do not feed the animals by throwing garbage out.

Just some nice photos of the Rockies.

I have to look at the road every now and then.

More photos.

We enter Banff National Park.

My copilot.

We saw a few of those animal crossings.

Welcome to B-C.

Such nice sceneries.

A few places had construction going on.

I always find the Rockies beautiful.

We drove in a few of those snow sheds.

The bridge crosses the Columbia River in Revelstoke, looking west.

The same bridge looking east.

North and South

The things you see sometimes. People doing Yoga with their butts in the water!

More about the river

A small park had this wooden sculpture.

On the west side of the bridge, you have this large parking lot. You can stay here for up to 8 hours. Nobody checks, but do not stay more than one night.

Natasha went out with her parents for a hike.

I guess she is burned out after this hike.

Sunday, June 18, 2023.

We are back behind the wheel by 8 am.

A burn hive turned into a restaurant.

We are getting closer to Kamloops.

After Kamloops, we take highway #5, the Coquihalla, better known as "The Coke".
It is not fog you see. It is rain in the lower elevations and snow in the higher elevations.

We wonder what happens!

One more snow shed.

After the mountains, we enter the Fraser Valley, a farmland area.
He must sell a lot of corn!

Big raspberries!

Every province has a Highway of Heroes.

We spend the night at the Walmart in Tsawwassen. Tomorrow morning we take the ferry to Nanaimo.

Natasha is camping?

Beautiful photo.

Tomorrow we will arrive at Jeremy and Kristin's place.

Monday, June 19, 2023

It is 4 h 15 am and we are on our way to the ferry. The ferry is only 10 minutes away from the Walmart.
We are not quite awake yet!

We got on the ferry about one hour before departure. How much does it cost for a MH with a car?
About $ 392.00 one way.

It takes about 1 h 45 to get to Nanaimo, on the Island.

It is boring this early in the morning.

Ready to get off the ferry. It was a good crossing.

Getting off the ferry is pretty fast. In less than 3 minutes, we are on Highway 19 going north.

It is a highway, but with signal lights every now and then.
Nice camper made out of wood.

Highway 19 is between the mountains and the sea.

This is the museum at the base entrance. It is open to all.

It is 9 h 30 in the morning when we arrive at Jeremy and Kristin's place.

We all went to pick up Natasha at the daycare. She was so happy to see us.

After supper time, time to play in the playground.

Grand-maman gives Natasha's bath.

Kristin and Natasha just before bedtime.

We are very happy to be here.
Tomorrow the routine will start and it will be for the next 4 months.

Tuesday, June 20, 2023.

We are off to a good start, we forgot to take photos!
Now, get ready, for the next 4 months 98% of the photos will be about family life.
At least until November 1.

Wednesday, June 21, 2023.

Natasha is getting ready to go to daycare. She even wears her mom's shoes.

Natasha is a daddy's girl.

A nice afternoon when Natasha is back with us.

We are getting back to our "supper" routine. We cook Monday to Thursday. They cook from Friday to Sunday.
I am cooking asparagus wrapped in chicken.

It was OK.

The highlight for Natasha is snack time before bedtime.

Thursday, June 22, 2023.

It is just another day filled with simple happiness.

Friday, June 23, 2023.

We treat ourselves to lunch at a chinese restaurant for lunch.
It is OK.

Saturday, June 24, 2023.

Jeremy works on weird shifts. Like 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 3 off and back to 2 on...
So, Jeremy is working Friday to Sunday.

Close to the base, an outdoor market has those Amazon Bins. It is stuff people returned to Amazon and they sell it in bins on pallets.
Everything is $5 in the bins. Tomorrow, whatever is left will be $2.50 per item.
We did not buy anything.

It is a fun and pool afternoon kind of day.

Tonight Natasha is having a sleepover in the MH.
Natasha and grand-maman are watching a Disney movie.

Sunday, June 25, 2023.

Natasha slept until 8 am. Now from 6 am to 8 am, she was in grand-maman's harm, asleep.

Michele went back to the Amazon Bin sale and bought this Elf costume for $2.50.

It is another pool afternoon. It is my turn to be in the pool with Natasha.

After a good time in the pool, Michele brought the hats she bought a while back. They are lady's hats.

And a water gun fight., Always fun to do.

Monday, June 26, 2023

We are working on the shower leak this morning. The leak is in one of the corners. It is not a big deal, but it needs to be fixed.
I removed both sliding doors and Michele removed all the old sealant. Michele did a great job.

We will let it dry for a day before we put new sealant.

Jeremy suggested we go for a hike at the Trent Falls. Of course, I want to go.

After walking for about 15 minutes, we are at the falls

The last part was a little more difficult!

We saw two bra padding on the way down. I guess it scared the padding out of her bra when she came down this part of the trail.

It is just gorgeous.

It is quite the drop from the trail to the bottom of the falls. Jeremy.

I still cannot get over the height of the trees here on the Island.

Looking downriver.

It was not a long trail, but as I said, the last part was steep. I will have to buy hiking boots because running shoes are not good for this kind of trail.

Natasha with her princess's hair.

Look who had a good snack?

It was a good day.
I almost forgot. Kristin had an appointment with her doctor for Natasha. She asked the doctor if he would take us as patients. The doctor said yes! We are so happy to have a doctor. We will fill-out some documents and drop them off in a few days. Now we can start our official move to B.C. Thank you, Kristin.

Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

Michele cleans both shower doors before we put them back on. I sealed the bottom of the shower.
Now we let them dry and let the sealant cure for a day or two.

Natasha with her new nightgown.

It was a good day.

Wednesday, Jun 28, 2023.

The day started early for us. We arrive at the ServiceBC office at 8 h 30. The office opens at 9 am.
We got in and surprise, Michele is missing her birth certificate, darn! As for me, I did not need one. I got my driver's license changed over and got my application for my healthcare card started. We still have to get online to finish off the application for a healthcare card !?!? Not very efficient, isn't? By 9 h30 we are out of the office and went back home to get Michele's birth certificate. Back at the ServiceBC office, in less than 40 minutes, including waiting for a while, we are out of the office. All we need to do now is wait for our driver's permit and our healthcare card to come by post.

Since it is lunchtime, we have lunch at Costco.

After lunch, we completed our application for the doctor and took the forms back to the doctor's office.
Thank you again, Kristin, for asking your doctor if he would take us as patients.

Charles and Agnes came over for supper and stayed the evening talking. It was fun to see them again.

Thursday, June 29, 2023.

Charles and Agnes came over this morning. We toured the Air Park on base.

We took them to Ky Bay and had a light lunch.

They left after lunch and we went home. Have a good trip back to Quebec.

Natasha is full of energy today!

Friday, June 30, 2023.

Out for a ride and check out the Canada Day decorations.

We got this photo from our friends, Patricia, Jannie and Jan and the employee, Mason.
Every Friday, they have a meal together. Today was Taco Friday.

Jeremy and I went for a hike near Oyster River to check-out if the pink salmons are back yet.
We can see the mainland and the snow in the mountains. The salmons are not back yet.

This is one nice snack for a little girl.

Until next time.

Life is good...
