Monday, January 16, 2023.

We had an uneventful day.
We skyped with Jeremy and Natasha.

Tuesday, January 17, 2023.

Jan invited me for a side-by-side ride today. We will join Jannie and Michele at the BBQ place for lunch.
Jan really knows the area and the trails. We went to the Dome.
Here is a view of the valley with an old mine in the foreground.

The things you get to see when you leave the main roads.
Yes, it is a real cemetery.

Jannie and Michele arrived at the BBQ place at the same time as us. They, by the road, us, by the desert.
They are clean, but we are very dusty.

We are having lunch at Dirty South BBQ House.

The entrance.

We all had the Brisket Burger.

I can attest that they were excellent.

Now with a full stomach, we head back to Jannie and Jan's place.

We drove a little over 52 kilometres today.

Thank you very much, Jan, for taking me along.

Wednesday, January 18, 2023.

It is a gloomy day weather-wise today.
More photos from Comox.
On Vancouver Island, you do not need a snowsuit, you need a rain suit.

What a mischievous face she's got.

She is still young, and she still thinks vacuuming is fun.

She is playing hide-and-seek. If she cannot see you, you cannot see her, right?

Thursday, January 19, 2023.

Even with the sun shining, the air still has a coldness to it.
It is bean bag this morning.
Michele played very well this morning. As for me? Let's change the subject.

We had horse racing on the patio this afternoon.
We participate.

You go to the "betting window" to place your bet.
You can only bet on two horses maximum and only 50¢ per race.

The race has started. Horse number 5 is in the lead.

It was a pretty tight race after the first/last turn.

I won a total of two races. Michele won one. We had a total of 6 races.

We arrived with five dollars. We left with three dollars and twenty-five cents.
Even with our winnings.
We had a good time.

Friday, January 20, 2023.

We went to a few garage sales this morning.
When we got back, Michele made us a good breakfast.
The afternoon was spent reading and having a few beverages with friends.

Saturday, January 21, 2023.

About a week ago, Gaétan asked me if I could help cook pancakes with him for the Park breakfast? Sure, why not.
Here we are hard at work cooking tons of pancakes.

This is Michele's plate.

Our friends, Gail and Dennis.

I was in the last two or three to have breakfast. It was good.

Dennis and Gail invited us for a fish fry of Walleye for supper. They will have other friends at the fish fry too.

The walleye comes from Manitoba. It was caught by Gail and Dennis.
They cooked lots of fish. We ate a lot of fish.

The sun was still shining, but as it went down, it cooled quickly.

With our North Shore hoodies.

Our friends doing the "pose".

Gaétan and Michelle's friends are with us too. Denise and Michel.

Once again, we had a good evening and good food.
Thanks, Gail and Dennis.

Sunday, January 22, 2023.

We had a lazy day at home.

Monday, January 23, 2023

It is very windy and colder today.

We all decided to go and play a game of Jok-R-ummy in the game room.

After the game, we checked out a small band playing in the hall.
They came here before and played good music. This time they played gospel music. Not our cup of tea.

After supper, we went back to the game room to play some more games of Jok-R-ummy.

We had lots of fun.

Tuesday, January 24, 2023.

We are getting ready for our trip to Quartzsite tomorrow. We should be there until the end of January. After, we will move to Ajo and join our friends Jannie and Jan in February. At that point, we will come back to Yuma.
Our plans are written in sand, and it is windy at times.
So, for today, we will do laundry, shopping and packing.

We cannot miss bingo. No winnings for tonight.

Jeremy sent us a photo from when he went canoing on Maple Lake near Comox.

Wednesday, January 25, 2023.

We are on the move!
The gentleman you see in the second photo told me he does not help people when they are hooking up the car. Yet he keeps talking to me!

Our next stop is at the gas station to fill up the MH.
We had not filled the MH when we arrived, hoping the prices would go down. When we arrived here, gasoline was at $3.99 a gallon. It is now at $3.39 a gallon. We saved $40 by waiting.

We are driving north on highway 95. We are in the very fertile valley of the Gila and Colorado Rivers.

We drove along the Gila Mountains for a while.

After a quick stop at the Border Patrol Check Point and we continue our trip north.

Quartzsite, here we come!

We are staying at "La Posa North".

We are still a little close to highway 95, but we hardly hear the traffic. This is why we see more campers around us.
La Posa North is part of the "Bureau of Land Management" (BLM).
For the price of $40, you get a 14 days camping permit and for $180, your permit is good for 180 days. We took the 14 day one.
You park anywhere you want, and no services are provided where you are.

After we were all set up, we went to the RV Show. It is about one kilometre from where we are.
Under the big tent are all the vendors. All the RVs are on one side of the big tent.

A panoramic view behind the MH.

Over the next few days, we will go back to the RV Show and the many flea markets in Quartzsite.

Thursday, January 26, 2023.

We are back at the RV Show. Who do we meet at the Show? Our friends Michel and France!
We had a lot of catching up to do.

We were also waiting for one of our blinds to be repaired.
Surprise! They only changed the innerspring at for $40.

Two beautiful photos of Natasha.

Friday, January 27, 2023.

Where are we?
At the RV Show and the flea market. You can get just about everything you need here.

We also checked out some small travel trailers at the local dealer.

Back at the MH, I read outside until it got cold.
The view as I am reading.

We had a good day.

Saturday, January 28, 2023.

We are in a different flea market today.
We have two slides awning to get changed.
Shade Pro will come later today and measure them and come back tomorrow morning to change them.

We saw this cute little scooter in a parking lot.

I do some more reading outside.

I would say 90% of the sunsets are nice, here in Quartzsite.

We have a treat tonight. We have a Chinese fondue with two of the best sauces, the devil and a mushroom & Brandy.

It was very good.

Sunday, January 29, 2023.

The last two nights were cold. Michele and I are not enjoying them. We decided to go back to Yuma until the end of January.
At the same time, we received an email from David and Patricia, the people we buy the 5th wheel from, to see if we could take the 5th wheel earlier. This even works better for us. We will do all the paperwork tomorrow and decide on a date to pick up the MH.

Around eleven, Shade Pro showed up to change the awnings and see if he can repair the main awning.

One hour and a half later, the two slide awnings are replaced, and the main awning is fixed. All that for $400 US. Not bad at all.

Ken did a very good job. Thank you, Ken.

With this out of the way, it is time to head back to Yuma.

We are back on our site.

Tomorrow morning we will go to the bank and the registration office to complete the purchase of the 5th wheel.

Monday, January 30, 2023.

We are at the bank this morning to finalize the purchase of our 5th wheel.

Our next stop was at the registration office to transfer the title to Michele and I.
We are now the happy owners of a 5th wheel.

To celebrate, we had lunch at Linn's.

It was a good day.

Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

One more photo of Natasha.

Michele found a shed for sale close to our Park.
We went to check it out. We bought it.
We will pick it up tomorrow.

Until next time.

Life is good...
