The sun raise in the parking lot...

We are back on the road for the last day of our travel.
Some roads are divided highway and some and secondary roads.

And the last road, highway 401.

Another night at Walmart, this one in Trenton.
We only get our campsite tomorrow.

The day started with sunny skies to finish with rainy skies.
Another 426 km of driving.

We are almost home.
Usually, I enjoy the drive from Saskatchewan, but this time, I did not. Mostly due to a back ache and sore throat.
Some time life is like that!

Monday September 2, 2019

Our new home for the next few weeks.

Officially, this had been our last travel day before we got home.
One big 9.4 km of travel!

We are very happy to see Jannie, Patricia and Jan.
We slowly are getting settled.

Tuesday September 3, 2019

Lake Ontario's water level has dropped over the summer, but it is still very high for this time of year.
Here are some photos from the month of May and from now.
Today.

And last May.

Today and last May.

Today and last May.

On Thursday, I will give a hand to Jan to remove the last of the gravel that was shoring up the sand bags.

We did go to town to get some groceries, get the instruction sheet for the preparation for my medical appointment, pick up our mail from the UPS Store.  I also washed the car, boy it was dirty.

Wednesday September 4, 2019

I am at the Belleville hospital for my Myocardial Perfusion Test (Dipyridamole).
I will be at the hospital from 8.45 am until 1 pm. It is not a hard test.

It turned out they modified my test by switching from a drug induced work out to a thread mill work out. It is not as hard on the heart. The cardiologist and the nurses were wondering why I was getting this test. I do not know!!!
I will be seeing my cardiologist on September 17 for the results.

Thursday September 5, 2019

The weekend warriors are not in yet, so we can see the water.

Jan's new excavator was delivered this morning. The old one was getting tired.

Jan hard at work.

Michele is helping this morning. Jan fills the Kubotas with the gravel. I am the one who bring the Kubotas for Jan to fill. Michele takes the Kubotas from me and drives them to the back of the campground to dumps the gravel.
We started at around 1 pm and stopped at 4.30 pm. We did a lot of work this afternoon.
Michele loved driving the Kubotas and dumping the gravel.

This is the result of our afternoon of work. Jan will do some landscaping later on.

The lighter gravel you see is what Michele brought from the front of the campground.

There are only 15 to 20 feet of gravel left to remove. We will do it tomorrow morning.

We had a very good day.

Friday September 6, 2019

I was back at work this morning. This time we did not need Michele.
Jan again hard at work.

Me and my Kubota for the morning. We were done by lunch time.

As you probably remember, we want to change our sofa in the MH.
We are sofa shopped all afternoon at all the big furniture stores in the area.

The one in The Brick caught our eye. We will think about it over the next little while.

Some of the photo Michele took today. The monarchs are all over the front lawn of the office. And so are the frogs.

Jannie does a very nice job for the landscaping of the campground.

Saturday September 7, 2019

I basically spent the morning talking to people in the campground.

When I got back to the MH, Michele and I talked about the couch.
It is decided, we will get the couch from The Brick.

Shaw Direct has made some changes to their satellites and our automatic satellite antenna no longer finds them! I called the installer of our automatic antenna for a fix. I was told I would need to buy a new comptroller for $800 for the antenna to find the right satellite.
But! When the current comptroller finds the right satellite and it does not stop, all I have to do is stop the search mode on the comptroller and we have TV. The neighbors across the street have the same problem, but did not know about the easy solution. So I helped them get the satellite.

Sunday September 8, 2019

Michele got up early (for her) this morning. She wants to go to a yard sale with lots of baby stuff.
Here she is with her loot. All that for only $5.

I went out for a walk while she sorts out the clothing.

This is what I found when I got back...

I put the old sofa on line as a free sofa. At lunch time a lady from the campground texted me about it and took it.
We will give the chair and ottoman to Benoit when we get to Quebec in a few weeks.

We also learned a campers daughter was expecting a baby soon. So Michele goes through the clothing and what she does not choose, goes to this lady.

We are invited at Jannie and Jan's place for supper. Jannie has prepared some salmon for supper. Patricia was with us for the meal. As usual, the meal was great, the company was also great. Thanks Jannie and Jan.

Monday September 9, 2019

Yesterday, a seasonal camper had to move his "extension" out of the park.
They used the frame of an old fifth-wheel trailer. It is not made like a normal trailer. It needs the whole structure to be solid.
So it bent! Right in the middle of the road. Everybody is waiting to see the solution of this "adventure."

The other side of the extension. You can see the shape of the trailer it was against.

I am washing my work cloths. They were too dirty to wash in the park's washing machine.

Doing some socializing with the neighbors.

I forgot to mention, I talked to the cardiologist's secretary about changing my appointment (Sept. 17) to an earlier time if a cancellation took place. She will keep an eye out for that.

Another good day.

Tuesday September 10, 2019

I woke up to my phone ringing at 8 am.
It was to report that a cancellation took place and if I wanted, I could move my appointment to the 13th vice the 17th? YES!

Later on, I changed the "sliders" under our kitchen table's chairs. On the left, the old one and on the right, the new one.

During our trip back from Moose Jaw, we had a slight problem. The sewer hose came out of the storage tube it was in. The cap came undone. We almost lost a good sewer hose! I added a safety pin to the tube to prevent the accidental opening of the cap.

Michele made the suggestion that we go to the small town of Cobourg in the afternoon. This way she could shop some different thrift shops.

We had lunch at Capitan George Fish & Chips. The Fish & Chips were very good.

Four thrift shops almost next to each other! Michele is in heaven!

We got back just in time before the rain started. We had some windows open.

Wednesday September 11, 2019

A foggy morning.

Today we got our new sofa.

Jannie and Jan offered us the campground truck to bring the sofa from Belleville to the MH. How nice is that?

Jan gave me a hand to move the sofa in the MH. Thanks Jan, we really appreciate it.

Without getting into details, we got the protection kit for free.
I only have to give two coats to the sofa and it is protected from stains and other mishap.

The first coat is done, now we only have to wait for 3 to 4 hours for the next coat.

For the sofa to be installed properly in the slide of the MH, I had to change the positions of 2 of the 4 legs of the sofa.

The arrows show the old position of the legs. They have to be far back from the edge of the carpet.

In between the two coats, I took time to chat with our neighbors. They are starting the full timing life.

We are invited at Millie and Dean's place for supper. As usual, the food was very good and so was the company.

I had given the second coat to the sofa before we left for the meal. Since I still had some of the liquid left, I added a third coat to the sofa before we went to bed.

Thursday September 12, 2019

Time to place the sofa in its right place.
We still have to make a few modifications over the next few weeks to make it safer.

The fabric looks like suede, but it is actual fabric that looks like suede. That is what we wanted.

Thursday evening is Pub Night. We had a good time.

Friday September 13, 2019

Remember, my appointment with my cardiologist had been changed for today?
Well! It was an appointment to remember!
The cardiologist tells me all is good and we can go south for the winter. Great!
Then he tells me when I get my blood work done in the spring, I need to send him a copy and book an appointment. He gets up and walks out the door!!! I asked him why? He mumbles and keeps walking away!!! Michele and I are baffled! Maybe he does not like Friday the 13th? Maybe because I am the last of his patient? I guess we will see him next spring!

We are having some nice medallions for supper.

Overall, it was a good day. I am healthy and we can start planning our winter.

Saturday September 14, 2019

Today, is a special day. We are going to Toronto to visit Michele's sister Odette.
We start with a quick breakfast at MacDonald's, then we take the 401 to Toronto by 7.30 am. We should be at Odette's place by 10 am.

Well, that was the plan. The traffic is fast (115 km/h) and even Toronto is easy to go through (100 km/h).
We arrived at 9 am! Michele decides to shop the thrift shops in the area until 10 am.
This is where Odette, Alix and Hong lives.

The view from the 14th floor.

We had a good time with Odette.

Odette loves eating in restaurants. We took her to the Kebab 49 near where she lives.

This is a Greek restaurant. We are not familiar with Greek food.
My sandwich, very good!

Michele's wrap, also very good.

A different kind of wrap for Odette, also very good.

The tea was included at the end of the meal.

It was good to see Odette, Alix and Hong again.
The trip back was not as fast, once out of Toronto, the speed did increase to 120 km/h. We were not the fastest one on the road.

Sunday September 15, 2019

This is the "get ready for the trip" day. We will be going to Saint-Jérôme (QC) for a week.
I made sure the tires were properly inflated, the BBQ in the basement, the bikes on the car, etc, etc.
I had to add one last nut to one of the sofa's leg.

You always see something different in a campground.

Like this man shaving while looking in the window...

The plan for the next few weeks is to spend a week in Saint-Jérôme and visit my family. Move to Michele's brother's place, Patrice and Manon, for a while.

Until next time.

Life is good...
