Sunday December 1, 2019

We started the day with a walk in the flea market Val-Verde, next to the RV Park.

That is a lot of oranges in the truck.
Texas is the third largest producer of oranges in the U.S.

Once we were done with our walk, we went to the next flea market for more walking.
This time it is at the Mercadome flea market. The "indoor" part is open.
This is the renovated section.

They are slowly replacing the older part of the flea market.

There are still some old "streets" left. It looks like a bazaar from a James Bond movie.
We think this part has more "character" than the new section.

We walked over 5 km today.

No pool for us today. The wind is kind of cool.

Monday December 2, 2019

I received my first item from Amazon today.
The two clickers to open the gate at the RV Park. They both work.

Monday is bingo night at the RV Park. The lady in the "box" is the caller.

Julie joined us for the bingo. They do not look too happy!

Tuesday December 3, 2019

While we were at the pool today, many people mentioned Diego & Edith were singing at the club house. Since many are going, we decided to go too. Diego & Edith have a very good reputation in the Valley.

The club house was almost full.

I also got my second item from Amazon. The accumulator for our RV water system.

I will install it tomorrow.

Wednesday December 4, 2019

We went to the flea market next to the RV Park for another walk today.
It always impresses me to see the people selling lightly used clothing, boots, etc.

After we got back home, I start the installation of the accumulator.
I will place it behind the black panel you see, near the water pump.

This is where it will go.

Surprise! I have a small water leak at the inlet of the pump.
It turns out to be just a loose connection.

We will use the water from the tank to test the integrity of the system.
I can tell you that the pump noise in the MH is almost gone. This is a side benefit.

Today we also received out third item from Amazon, the vent fan.
It is broken! I cannot fix it.

So I sent an email to the seller stating the fact and less that two hours later I received the paperwork to send it back and that a replacement will be coming soon. WOW!

Michele did not come to the pool today, but I went.

Thursday and Friday 5 and 6 December, 2019

We had a quiet day at home, pool, biking and reading.

Friday is Michele's birthday!
Happy Birthday Michele!

As usual, Friday we got for our walk at the Mercadome flea market.
This is a one stop shopping for everything, they sell (in a pile) shoes, boots, pants, t-shirt. All this in one spot!

No pool for us today. Just lazying around the patio.

I forgot, I re-installed the black panels where the accumulator is. I waited a few days to make sure we had no leaks in the system.
All done.

As for the birthday cake, four different flavor cakes for Michele.

A small cold front came by overnight. When we woke up, it was only +12° C. But the sun is shinning and it is warming up.
Our plan for today? No idea!

But! Tonight we are going to a play at the Tower Theater. The play is "Playing Doctor".
This is the water tower, but the actual is located inside the original water tank located next to the water tower.
The ground level water tank was built in 1928 and used until 1938. In 1941 the new water tower was completed. The theater is located inside the ground water tank. The water tower is still in use today.

Here we are inside the water tank from 1928. We are about 100 people for this representation.

We are at the BIG H-E-B. It is a grocery store.
They cook chicken in a different way here!

After we got back home, we went to the pool, the outside pool. It is clear now!

Monday December 9, 2019

As with every Monday morning, Michele is at the local Thrift Stores.
As for me, I went to the community hall to get info on some of the upcoming shows coming in our park. Monday is also the day they play WII Bowling at the community hall. I ended up playing and signing up as a spare for the league. Right now it is only practice with the WII and I really liked it.

Once again the wind is blowing pretty hard, but it is warm and humid (30° C.).

Michele also bought some Tequila to do some shooters for her birthday (late).
She also found this Holiday box at the liquor store. I like those box. They give you a chance to taste different alcohol with-out spending lots of money.

We do this for Benoit, our youngest son. It is a tradition. We had to have 3 shooters before we got all the right photos.

Many schools in the Rio Grande Valley presents Christmas show. The have very good art programs.
One of the school comes to present a Christmas musical show. It is called Razz Ma Tazz. What does it mean?
Razz Ma Tazz only means a turbulent/noisy activity to attract attention. Like a show!

They are from grade 10 to 12.

It was a very nice show. They sang and danced very well. We liked it.

Some friends of our have Christmas lights at their site. Thanks Paul and Anita. Really nice.
So are the lights at the pool.

Today I also bought tickets for the Vipers game. The Vipers are the "school" team for the Houston Rockets professional basketball team.
We will be going with Julie and Jeff. The game is tomorrow evening.

Well! Another cold front is upon us.
This morning at 7:30 am the temperature was 22° C.
One hour thirty minutes later... Brrrr!
By tomorrow morning, it should be down to 8° C.

After lunch, we decide to go for a drive to Harbor Freight Tools.
I wanted lights like this. They were on special for only $2. We bought four of them.

In addition, I bought this cordless screwdriver. It was on for only $9.99 and with another 30 % off, it only cost me $6.

I had a free coupon for this measuring tape.

We are going to the Vipers Game with our friends Julie and Jeff.
This arena is brand new.

I do not have photos of the game because I was busy watching the game!
But! I got some photo of the Snake Charmers (Cheerleaders).

Even do we were at the top in the bleachers, we had a great view of the game.

We sure are not in Canada! The beer, 16 oz cans, are only $5.

The 50/50 ended up to be $2,145. WOW!

The Vipers won 128 vs 142 for the Iowa Wolves.

Since I watched the Raptors Game last spring, I understand Basketball a lot more. I really loved the game and this evening.
Julie and Jeff also liked the evening. It was a first for them in the Rio Grande Valley.

I forgot, for the $14 tickets we also got a "bubblehead" of one of the Vipers players.

Time to install some of the $2 lights I bought!

Thursday December 12, 2019

I am changing the rope on our solar cloth drier. The old rope was dried and rotten.

I received our replacement ceiling fan today.
Time to install it. It is an easy job. Luckily, 12 volts wiring was already available in the area.

Almost done.

The difference between this fan and the other two is that this one has a reverse. Now, not only can we push air out of the RV, we can now push air inside the RV. This allows the inside of the RV to cool faster.

We are playing pétanque tonight.

Friday December 13, 2019

Another hot day at the pool.
But, this morning we had the pre-patio sale in the RV Park.
I bought many items.
The two top items were $0.25. The pressure regulator was only $3 and the box of gloves $0.25.

$35 total for the three items. Just the power surge protector (left) cost $85 at the store.

We are going to the theater to see the play "Beauty and the Beast" this evening.
It is a one of the local high school.
On our way there, we saw thousands and thousands of birds perched on electrical wires. Impressive.

We are at the Sharyland Pioneer High School.
They practiced for over five months for this play.

The play was well done by the students.

At times, over 30 actors were on stage.

It was good and we loved it.

Saturday December 14, 2019

Another hot day and we are not complaining.

Michele and I went back at the Patio Sale in the Park. We did not buy much this time.
Yesterday I bought a bike seat for $2. I am replacing it now.

One of our friend had this set of drawers for sale. He just gave it to us. It will be replacing our old one.

I is way too hot to do this today. It is pool time again this afternoon.

I had breakfast at the restaurant El Mana in Pharr. It was OK.
We are having another day at 30° C. That means pool time again.

Friday we bought the magazine holder. I am splitting then in two.

Why? To make a holder for our phones and tablets while charging.
