Friday March 1, 2019

I had another breakfast with my friend Claude this morning.

Here is another little tip on save yourself problems and maybe some money.
In some RV Park you can screw you sewer hose tot he connector of the RV Park.  Other RV Park do not have that option.  You have to use a sewer hose seal rubber donut and slide you sewer hose elbow into it.  The seal I am talking about is here.

The potential for accident is quite high, meaning the elbow could come out of the rubber seal.  Imagine if you are dumping the sewer and the elbow comes out...

You can purchase things to keep you sewer hoses and elbow down, but they do cost money, like this pig for $25.

Or, you could use the heavy duty plastic bag from the wine box you just emptied.  You just need to fill the plastic bag about half way, lay it across the elbow and bleed out some water until you find the right "setting" for the bag to stay over the elbow.
Word of caution.
You still need to make sure you are being careful when dumping your gray/black waters.

There is always something to fix in an RV.  Like this trim on a wall next to the shower.

The nails holding it in place let go.

Two new nails later, it is firmly in place now.

We spent the rest of the day reading in the shade and in the sun.

Saturday March 2, 2019

Another 6 km bike ride tis morning.

At one of the local grocery stores, they have 9 roses for only $5.

Kistin and Jérémy are on their way to Canmore, Alberta, for some snowshoeing for a week.
First they stopped a few days, so they could see Jeremy's son, Gabriel, play hockey.
Here is Gabriel in action.

Our supper.  This is the recipe my sister-in-law gave us.  Chicken with Apricot jam and other stuff.  It is just delicious.

Sunday March 3, 2019

Our friends Rose, Barry and Betty come for a visit this morning.
It is always fun to see them.

We spent some time in the pool in the afternoon and did more reading outside.

Monday March 4, 2019

We went for the breakfast at the RV Park this morning.  It was OK for $5.

For the rest of the day, it was reading, taking it easy.
We are finally moving up in the temperature.

Our son, Jeremy and his girlfriend Kristin spent a few days in the Canadian Rockies snowshoeing.  They look so happy together.

A few minutes after we went to bed, we heard sirens coming in the RV Park.  Shortly after that we saw the flashing lights right by our doors!  It turns out to be the firetruck, and the ambulance was just a few RV up the road.  They took a lady in the ambulance.  She looked OK.

Tuesday March 5, 2019

We learned that the lady was taken to the local hospital, and she is doing fine.

I am out for a short bike ride this morning, about 6 km.
This is a funny looking tractor.

We also did go on the internet at the clubhouse.

After the clubhouse, we sat outside reading, me in the shade and Michele in the sun.

Today being Tuesday, it is bingo night.  We did not win anything.

Wednesday March 6, 2019

We should hit 29° C this afternoon.  We did some groceries shopping in the morning.
The pool is located right next tot he laundry room.  While we were doing laundry, we also went in the pool.

Thursday March 7, 2019

I spent most of the morning putting away all the stuff we had outside for our move tomorrow morning.
We did go around to say goodbye to a few of people.

Friday March 8, 2019

We are not leaving too early since we only have to travel 27 km to get to Western Sands RV Park.
Here I am getting on the driver seat.

We did not hook up the car to the MH since we are not traveling far.

It is really windy today and with the wind comes the dust in the air.
This dust really cuts down on visibility, look at the mountains.

We got to the RV Park way early (10:15 am), but our site was empty so we got in right after registration.

No photos of our new site.  I did not do the setup outside because of the high winds, tomorrow.
Michele is almost done getting the inside setup.

After we were done, we went for a beer with Gaétan and Michelle.

The lantern Michele bought a few weeks ago.  It is really nice.

Tomorrow I will do the outside setup if the wind dies down.

Saturday March 9, 2019

There is hardly any winds today, time to the outside setup for the next month.
Our site.

We got lucky, our site has an extension from the regular patio.  The extension is about 14 feet long.

We setup the outside TV.  Now that the weather is warming up, we will be able to watch TV outside.  Having said that, a cold front will pass over us until Wednesday and after the weather will warm up.

Another view of our site.

After all that hard work, time for a break.  Some reading with a cool beverage on our nice patio.

They have a supper at the clubhouse.  Meat loaf with the trimmings for $6, why no go?

Here is what we got for $6.  To top it off, they had so much left over, we went home with two more pieces of meat loaf.  BTW, the food was very good.

A good day even with the cool light breeze.

Sunday March 10, 2019

It is still a little cool outside today.  Michele suggested we go to the Arizona Market.
There was a lot of people today.

A T-Shirt we saw!

Monday March 11, 2019

Today was a cool with light rain all day.

While we only had light rain, the other end of the city had heavy rain.

Tuesday March 12, 2109.

We are having our last breakfast at the campground, and this is the last one for the season.

Our breakfast, not bad for only $3, and it was good.

A quick look around the RV Park.

In the afternoon, we went to the club house to try a new game. Beanbag baseball.
This is our team.

At home plate, hitting the ball, I mean tossing the beanbag...

Here I am on the first base. The board consist of nine holes. One is an home run, two are singles, two doubles, two triples and two outs. The big opening at the base is the foul ball.

We really enjoyed the game.
With the game over, we headed home for some serious reading.

Tuesday is bingo night. Michele did win a nice $22.

Wednesday March 13, 2019

Michele and I went for a bike ride this morning. We saw this cactus and with the rain we just had, it is starting to bloom.
The black pods are for the seeds.

On another branch, we saw some new pods starting.

Some are becoming new branches.

A nice and easy day and a few drinks with friends.

Thursday March 14, 2019

Early this morning, Michele went to the local Thrift Shop. She made some very good purchases. Six pieces of clothings for Gabriel for one dollar a piece.
After she got back home, we went to the Arizona Market to buy new wheel covers for the MH. They were $20 for two, not bad.

We also went for a dip in the pool during the afternoon, but the wind made it cool when you got out.

We bought this envelope a few days back not knowing how it would taste. Tonight is the night we try.

Hard at work. We changed the steak for some left over pork we had.

The verdict! We liked it. We are not used to eat kenoa, so the taste was different but good.

Friday March 15, 2019

Some of the trees in the desert are different, like this Foothills Palo Verde that has a green bark.  The green bark also does the photosynthesis.

Until next time.

Life is good...
