A friend of Patrice came over this morning to "mud" the bathroom.
He has a lot of experience and he is doing a very nice job. Patrice is
doing the clean-up after it is all done.
We will only have to do some light sanding in a few days.
With the mudding done in the morning, we attack the bathroom sinks. The
main bathroom one and the basement bathroom one.
We start with the main floor one. I ended-up doing all the plumbing.
We had a slight issue with the drain plumbing. Somehow it is out of
alignment with the new sink!
Back to the store and came back with a rubber "P" trap hose. It is just
wonderful and simple.
Tada! All done. (Almost)
Now, the basement bathroom sink.
We had no issue with this one. All done!
We only had a small leak that was quickly fixed.
Wednesday October 2, 2019
Patrice dropped his 4 wheelers at a local garage for an oil change.
We also quickly washed the truck.
We were busy, we moved the exercises equipment to one of the main floor
bedrooms.
A good day. The weather is on the cold side today.
Thursday October 3, 2019
We had frost on the car this morning.
We are on the way to Trois-Rivières to cut a few trees at Rock and
Christine's place. Michele is having fun...
This is the biggest tree we have to cut!
Patrice is very good with the chainsaw. We got done quickly.
Getting all the tree branches ready for transport. It will be
Christine's parent who will take care of that.
We did cut two more trees from the backyard, but they were rather small.
Friday October 4, 2019
Not much going on today. This morning I did the backup of all the
laptops to Benoit's backup hard drive and ours.
We leave on backup hard drive at Benoit's place and one at Jeremy's
place. We also have one with us on top of the laptops.
Manon and Patrice are going to Manon's sister in the Beauce for the
weekend. They are going to a comedy show.
Michele is busy watching tennis on TV.
As far as weather goes, we should get more frost in the next few days.
Saturday October 5, 2019
And yes! We got a nice white frost on the car and MH once again.
Just before lunch, we head to Montreal to Benoit's place for a visit.
Nice car.
Benoit's apartment is located on the second floor, but in the back of
the apartment building.
We can see Benoit by the door.
Théo, Marie-Jeanne and Roxanne came over for lunch.
We already knew Roxanne, but it was a pleasure to meet Marie-Jeanne and
Théo.
We left Benoit in late afternoon to get home before the heavy traffic
starts.
Flick is really missing Manon and Patrice!
We had a good day.
Sunday October 6, 2019
Weather wise, it was a weird day.
The morning was cold, but the afternoon was warmer.
We use this time to burn all the "bad" wood Patrice has behind the
garage.
Flick is with me all day. He is not used to being outside all day and
tied too!
Still, he is a very good dog.
I think he really misses Patrice and Manon.
Patrice and Manon got home late afternoon. They spent a few hours by
the fire too.
Monday October 7, 2019
Patrice is gone back to work. He is a truck driver.
My first task of the day is to secure the new sofa to the floor of the
slide. This is to prevent the sofa from flying around if we do have an
accident. When we drove from Trenton to here, the sofa was temporary
held down with the safety belts. I use three screws on each end to
secure the sofa to the floor of the slide. This is actually better than
the original sofa.
Meanwhile, Michele and Manon were cooking a spaghetti sauce and getting
some beets ready for canning. They were busy the rest of the day with
other stuff too! Two busy girls.
We were all busy today.
Tuesday October 8, 2019
Manon is back to work today and Patrice has not come back yet.
Michele and I are packing the steaks in two persons size bags. The
steaks were marinated in a three pepper sauce. We had bought two buckets
full of steaks. In each bag you have two huge steaks, we ended up with
24 bags (Four steaks are already eaten!).
Michele, does some house work to help Manon and the same for the MH.
As for me, I wash/clean the K&N air filter of the MH. It was not
that dirty, but I do it once a year. I also sanded the drywall joints
in the bathroom for Patrice.
I check the tire pressure of the tire on the MH. My compressor is
getting tired and making some weird noise. Not bad after more that 10
years. I will look for another/better one in the area.
Patrice came back from work right after lunch. He finishes the sanding and puts on a coat of paint where needed.
The leaves are a bright yellow, not like this photo.
A good day.
Wednesday October 9, 2019
Michele is watching tennis from the comfort of the bed this morning.
Patrice and I are working on the bathtub with the hope we will be
done with it today. Patrice is not working today. I told Patrice that I
will help, but not in measuring or cutting stuff. At this time I only
supervise.
Patrice did very good with the measuring and cutting.
The next step is to glue the back and sidewalls.
The job is done, or so we hope. We only have to wait for the glue to dry.
We did pretty good today, I think!
Thursday October 10, 2019
I learned something new today. The wall's corners are not necessarily at 90 degrees. That means this bathroom is not square!!!
The corner pieces are not sitting properly in the corners! That also
means that we have gaps in certain area of the corner pieces.
So! A little more glue...
We use pieces of woods to make sure the pressure is even and use a
spring loaded bar from a shower curtain rod to apply pressure on the
pieces of wood. Next we wait 24 hours for the glue to dry.
The weather is nice during the afternoon, time to clean up the basement of the MH.
Another good day.
Friday October 11, 2019
It is a beautiful day and I play with Flick.
Michele is getting the potatoes ready for the Shepperd Pie.
I spent most of the afternoon cleaning the batteries from the corrosion
I could see. I actually took the out (all 4 of them) to clean
everything real good. After more that two hours of work, it is done and
well done.
Patrice is back from work at around two o'clock and Manon is back home by 6ish.
Saturday October 12, 2019
We are on our way to Benoit's place in Montreal. He is spending one last weekend with us.
We made good time and the traffic was moving well.
After a good lunch, Patrice put us to work. We are removing the flooring in the basement.
It will go to the recycling center.
Benoit loves a campfire. He sure lites this one fast.
He is one happy boy with his campfire. What about the colours?
Catherine joined us a little later.
There is nothing like a cool afternoon by the campfire with a beer and family.
Halloween left overs.
Manon got off work by 4 and she too enjoys the campfire.
Michele and her feet!
For supper, we had Shepperd Pie and Quiche. I am holding Benoit because he was mischievous.
The proud parents with their favorite youngest son!
It seems like we are very hungry!
Michele is having some fun with the camera.
After the meal, it is always time to play some games, this time, it is dice!
Funny how it is, Michele is keeping score and she won!
A good day.
Sunday October 13, 2019
Manon is off work for the next three days. A she promised, she is cooking some waffles for us this morning.
And we are back to the campfire.
Michele is still having fun with the camera.
A father with is young son!
Family!
Benoit has to leave. Here we are saying our "Goodbye and see you next year".
The second photo looks like he is happy to see us go!
Back at Manon and Patrice, we are back to the campfire.
Michele and her feet again!
Patrice has put some stuff in the make to make different flame colours. The photo does not do a good job to show it.
WOW! What a week!
Monday October 14, 2019
Not many photos today, but we were still pretty busy.
One more frosty morning.
We finished removing the flooring in the basement and a few more small
things around the house.
Patrice made it back home early this morning. Manon et Patrice decided
to go with Remax for selling their house.
The real estate agent will be coming this evening for the paperwork.
Tuesday October 15, 2019
I am fixing one of our day/night shade from the MH. When the strings
wear out, the shade gets stuck and won't close or open.
We are laughing because I cannot string the string in the needle's hole!
Manon does not seem impressed.
I did it and did it very well.
I am putting the bikes in the car a little early because the forecast
since Wednesday and Thursday calls for rain. We will be going to
Niagara Falls after all. When I called the Kingston RV Park to
book a site, they told me that water will be turned off before the end
of the month and they have no places to fill the water tank if they
shut the water off. Not good! So I called the same RV Park in Niagara
Falls to book a site for the last two weeks of October. We are leaving
on Thursday because we will be stopping at Jannie and Jan's place for
one night.
We are winterizing the pool today.
Patrice at work...
Patrice keeps telling me to stop taking photos of him working. He has a
reputation to keep after all.
After the water level was dropped, we installed the net over the pool
to keep debris out of the pool for the winter.
Done!
With the pool all winterized, it is time to paint the bathroom.
The house is now ready for the photographer to come and take photos of
the house for the real estate agent.
