In a mobile home park near Trenton, they are having a park wide yard
sale. We are there by 8 am.
We even saw an old Ford Galaxie 500 for sale.
We did not find anything we wanted today.
When we got back home, the sun was shinning and it was warm.
With the water level being so high, a section of the sewer system had
to be shut off. Many of the seasonal campers have to go to the RV
Park washroom for business. A few of the campers came up with a
solution. They built a "Honey Wagon", so people could empty their
RVs used water tanks when they will be full. A good solution for
the time being.
As I said, a warm day at 20° C.
Sunday June 2, 2019
Jeremy is here for a few days fixing the Snowbirds airplane.
We will have him over a few times, if he can get away from work.
We are very happy to see him.
Monday June 3, 2019
Michele has an appointment at the physio this morning. She is almost pain free.
At one forty-five, I have an appointment for an ECG and an ultrasound
of my heart. I arrived 15 minutes early and surprise, I went in 10 minutes
later. Twenty minutes after that I was already out the door. WOW!
After we got back home, I help Jan adding a gravel "driveway'" to one site.
We only have one kubota to move the dirt today.
Break time!
Shortly after 4 pm we were done for the day.
We had a good day.
Tuesday June 4, 2019
A day without an appointments, wow!
The wind is coming from the lake and it is on the cool side.
Jannie take this time to plant flowers around the park.
Wyatt and I are driving the two Kubotas this morning. Jan is operating the mini-excavator to finish digging the "driveway".
With the first step completed, now is the time the large gravel comes in. Of course, the rain started at the same time.
Cute sight, several families of geese came into the tall flooded grass to feed.
I guess there was no good food there!
And we keep on working.
A job well done.
Another good day.
Wednesday June 5, 2019
It has been raining since yesterday, no outside work today for me.
Here we are solving the problems of the world.
It rains pretty hard at time today.
Thursday June 6, 2019
Michele has a new experience today. Massage therapy is added to the
physio. A few days ago, we went back to our family doctor to get a
prescription for massage. This way we can claim them with our insurance.
We did not have to actually see the doctor, just ask for it. A few days
later we picked up our prescription for the massage a the doctor's office.
Michele has her first massage today. It is 45 minutes long. The massotherapist warned Michele that she could have an increase in pain for a few days. It went well, but Michele had a lot more than just some pain.
After the massage/physio appointment, we dropped by the Veteran Office to
ask about the denial of orthopedic shoes for Michele. The lady we
talked to was just amazing. She made some inquiries and gave us
the right information to present for the claim.
The water is still going up, but not fast and very little. Apparently we are at the peak of the flooding.
The dike is still holding more than 27 inches of water.
We can barely see the gravel on the pier between the docks.
Michele is in a lot of pain, not good.
Friday June 7, 2019
It is my turn to have an appointment today.
My appointment is for a stress test at the cardiologist's office.
All went well. The cardiologist did not seem worried during the test, a good sign.
When I left, he told me "see you at your next appointment to review all the tests."
Water, water go away!
Today is also the time we have to move out of the RV Park. We are
moving out for three nights because the site was already rented when we
extended our stay. Jannie and Jan always accommodate us the best
they can. This time we are moving to their house for the three nights.
Our new site is at Jannie and Jan's house. The front of the house.
We are parked in the back with all the services, like water, electricity and sewer hook ups, wow!
We have a very nice site, thanks Jan and Jannie.
Michele and I watched the fourth basketball game between the Raptors and the Warriors.
The Raptors have won two games already and the Warriors only have won one game.
The Raptors won tonight, so it is now three to one for the games. They played a very good game.
Saturday June 8, 2019
Jan told me I could wash the MH if I wanted. Of course I want to.
Usually, I wash the MH when we arrive at the RV Park, but with all the
rain and flooding, we could not wash the MH at the RV Park.
The MH really needed it. Specially with the rust treatment that
was done to the MH, all the sides were coated with this "oil" and makes
a mess. It usually takes two to three wash before it is really
clean.
I took a little walk on the street Jannie and Jan lives.
We are only about one kilometer from the RV Park. Jannie mentioned
that they have hot dogs and hamburgers at the club house for lunch. We
are going. We were also told that a carp had moved up the flooded creek
to the ditch near the entrance of the Park. The carp must be at
least 24 inches long.
Every body line up for the food. The man behind the plate is Jan.
They had a very good turnout.
The afternoon is spent reading, naps and computer. It is a nice warm day with +25° C with the sun shinning.
We had a few beers with Jannie and Jan at the end of the day.
Sunday June 9, 2019
Last night, Jan mentioned that on Monday it is supposed to be raining
all day and that maybe we should move back the RV Park on Sunday after
all. Good idea.
This morning, I am just sitting in the sun, reading and watching birds.
Mean while, Michele is watching the tennis finals on TV.
We moved back to the RV Park after lunch.
We are invited for ribs for diner back at Jannie and Jan's house.
It was a very good meal, had a lot of fun as usual.
Monday, Tuesday June 11 and 11, 2019
Michele had two appointments on Monday, first it was the physio
followed
by the massage. Michele explained the massage lady that the last
massage was very hurtful. The lady giving the massage was a little
softer this time.
On Tuesday, I helped Jan with the addition of one more "driveway" for
one of the campsites.
Surprise! Millie and Dean decided to invite us, Jannie, Jan and
Patricia for supper.
We had a very good meal with good friends, lots of laughters.
Thanks you Millie and Dean for this very good meal and friendship.
Wednesday, Thursday June 12 and 13, 2019
Michele has another physio appointment on Wednesday. Her back is doing
much better.
Some bad weather is coming our way. The wind picked up and is
coming from the south-east, not good for the dike or the docks.
Before I went to bed, I had gone out to check the dike and the docks
just
to make sure they were holding. Jan did the same thing at 3:30
am. So far so good.
This is the dike on Thursday Morning. The dike is still strong, but
needed some reenforcement here and there. Jan is concerned with the
strong wind. Water from the waves is coming over the dike in some area,
but the water pumps are taking care of that water.
After Michele's massage on Thursday, by the way, it went very well,
we did a little grocery shopping. I even bought some smoked salmon,
hummm!
The wind finally died down Thursday evening. It still moved some
of the docks by about 15 feet. Being Thursday, it is also Pub Night.
It is also game six between the Raptors and the Warriors. It was a very
good game and the Raptors won, becoming the first Canadian team to win
the NBA.
Friday June 14, 2019
Today, the wind is back, but it is coming from the west, so no big
waves this time.
The docks look good, but...
The two arrows show some of the docks that were moved by the waves.
The one dock in the center has 8 cement anchors weighting about 200 #
each and the wind still managed to move it!
It is incredible the power of the wind and water.
One of the 5th wheel in the water. This one is not too bad.
A day without appointments, we stayed home.
Saturday June 15, 2019
The RV Park is celebrating Father's Day on Saturday.
Fathers had a free breakfast at the club house.
And Saturday night, they had chicken wings for $7 per pound.
The cooks at work.
The pickup window.
The wings were for takeout only, but the bar was open and we stayed at
the bar to eat our wings.
