We are back into town to pick up some more items we forgot to buy
yesterday.
Tonight we are invited at Jannie and Jan place for supper with
Patricia, their daughter, and Millie and Dean, good friends of Jannie
and Jan. We ate very good food, drank some good stuff and sure
had a lot of laughters. A tequila shot for my birthday!
Happy birthday to me, Happy birthday to me!!!

The water level in Lake Ontario is going up. The heavy rain and
snow melt are the cause of it, but also the fact that they cannot leave
more water down in the St-Lawrence because of the flood around
Montreal. So far, the water level is about a foot higher than
normal.
The weather forecast for the next week or so is rain, rain and
rain. They expect the water level will go up another foot if not
more.
For the afternoon, Michele wanted to visit the local Thrift Stores in
Belleville.
The prices in the Thrift stores are very good, but the prices in Value
Village are not, by a long shot.
Friday May 3, 2019
I had an appointment at Canadian Tire for a transmission oil change on
the car this morning. She really needed it!
The water level seems to be up some more today.
It was an indoor day with rain on the outside.
Saturday May 4, 2019
North Shore RV Park has asked campers to volunteer help in filling sand
bags and building a wall for today.
A lot of campers did show up. This is the "sand bagging
plant". I was here and so was Michele.
While the "sand bags plant" was working at full capacity, the "building
crew" were hard at work building the wall to prevent the water from
flooding the RV Park.
After a long day, WOW!
Patricia, Jannie and Jan provided us with a nice lunch with sandwiches,
donuts and beverages.
Thanks a lot for the nice meal.
Wow, what a day.
We had a nice sunset too!
Today we filled over 1,600 sand bags and built over 500 feet of "the
wall". Thanks everyone.

Yes, the water level is going up! The forecast for the water
level is up another 6 to 10 inches over the next two weeks.
Monday May 6, 2019
I think today will be a relaxing day at home.
And then something happened!
While I went looking at the water level at the docks, Jan asked me if I
wanted to drive the Kubota to move gravel to the dike? Sure I
said. We have two Kubotas going back and forth from the gravel
pile to the dike. Jan was at the dike to guide us on where to
dump the gravel.
Patricia is using the mini-excavator for the first time.
Father and daughter having a discussion about the next step.
Jannie coming back from her walk with Diesel.
Here I am with my race-kubota.
Jan is waiting for the next load of gravel.
We worked from 11 am until 7 pm with a lunch break, LOL!
It was not very hard work, it was fun.
Michele joined me on the last two run of gravel.
I had a very good day today. Just a boy in the sandbox with his toy.
Tuesday May 7, 2019
Michele has an appointment at Bioped to change her orthodontics in
her shoes. Tim was very good again. He even gave us a tour of
the shop where he fabricates the orthodontics. We will have to come
back next week for the fitting.
From Bioped, we drove Front Street and in by the Belleville town hall, a really nice-looking building.
Our next stop is at Bed Bath & Beyond for a pillow for me.
Lucky me, I find the right one. I also found a pair of eye cover
for me.
On our way home, we stopped at the local laundromat for... laundry!
We made it home by supper time. A good day.
Wednesday May 8, 2019
Easy morning, I slept very well with my new pillow.
Time to iron my many shirts.
It is with a belly full from lunch that we go for a walk in the RV Park, just to check out the flood/water level.
It went up another inch. A good thing the dike is already up,
because we would have more water in the RV Park. Many sites would
not be usable for campers.
I was an easy day at home. Mostly reading, surfing the net and a good nap on my new pillow.

What a surprise! A day of scattered rain!!!
Tonight we are going to the Brighton Barn Theater with Jannie and Jan.
Our first stop is at the Whistling Duck restaurant in Brighton for dinner.
Of course, it had to rain when we got to the theater!
This is the play we are here for. Chance being the name of the ghost!
Chance, the ghost, is the second from the left.
It was a comedy and it was great, lots of laughters.
This was a great evening with friends.
Friday May 10, 2019
We went shopping for a new sofa for the MH. We did not find one we liked yet.
Once back home, I went out to take some photos of the RV Park and the
flooding. Between yesterday and today, we received one and half
inch of rain. The water you see in the photos will be gone in a
day or two.
Just to give you an idea how high the water is. This photo was taken on May 4th.
And this one on May 10th.
So far the month of May has been the coldest and rainiest in decades.
Saturday May 11, 2019
We did some more sofa shopping this morning and nothing caugh our eyes yet.
They are celebrating Millie's birthday with a pot-luck dinner
today. Millie's is one of the oldest residents of this RV Park.
Millie was quite surprised when she arrived.
What a meal.
We had a large choice of food and it was all good.
We all had our fill from all the good food.
Millie with her family.
Millie just turned 70 years old.
She really appreciated the birthday party.
With the meal over, many of us went back to Millie and Dean's place for a drink.
Sunday May 12, 2019
More sand bags are required and many volunteer showed up again this morning to help.
Over 350 sand bags were filled on top of the other 1,600 that were filled on May 4th.
When I got there, they were all done, darn!
Patricia is giving a ride across the water to a few of the volunteers.
Patricia taking a photo of me taking a photo of her!
Surprise! More rain today, but it only lasted about two hours.
Monday May 13, 2019
Just like in Quebec, the weather here is not nice. It is cold,
miserable and rainy. This weather keeps us indoor most of the time.
The water level keeps going up with all the rain we received in the
last few weeks.
The ditch across the road is our gauge for water level. It is close to
be on the grass.
This is the same mobile home looking the other way. Can you see
our MH?
I did help putting more sand bags today. Another day indoor with rain
for a change!!!
Tuesday May 14, 2019
The water level for Lake Ontario is stating the lake will go up another
8 to 10 inches in the next 7 to 10 days.
Another few more inches and the pier will be under water.
This is the water level at the beginning of the gravel pier.
A view of the dike. We added two more layers of sand bags on the
right-hand side, near the cottages.
This is the part where we added more bags. When the wind is
blowing, this part of the dike is getting hammered by the waves.
Jan even dug a channel to allow better drainage to the pump.
This is one of the two pump running 24/7 to keep this part of the Park
some what dry. The pump is at the end of the yellow hose.
I did not even get to the deep end of the dike.
Because part of the dike is sitting on the gravel road, the water from
the lake is seeping easily under the dike.
The water level of the lake side from the picture above.
The other pump is also going 24/7.
Michele took a photo of me checking the water level.
Once again, we had rain most of the day. The maximum temperature we hit
today was a balmy +8° C.
Wednesday May 15, 2019
Jan asked us if we were busy today? No was our answer. He asked us
if we wanted to drive to Peterborough to pickup some parts for one of
his machineries? Sure we said. We even use the RV Park truck to get the
parts. We are on the road by 7 this morning. We are taking
the back roads to get there. The scenery is pretty and the
traffic is very light.
When we got to White's WearParts, we picked up the parts and drove back
to the RV Park.
We made it back to the Park by 9 h 30.
Andréa, Simon and Ariel welcomed the new addition to the family,
Ludovic.
This is Simon, Ariel, Grand Maman and Ludovic. Andréa is resting
after the delivery.
This afternoon I have an appointment with the eye doctor for the one
year follow up on my laser eye surgery.
All is good, but I may need a correction procedure next year.
