Last Wednesday, when we went for a bike ride, some "sand burs" got to
Michele's tire causing a flat tire in the back. I was sure I had
another tire inside the tire, but no. So, I left the old tube in the
tire and placed the new tube over the old tube to create an extra layer
of rubber between the outside and the good tube in the tire. This
should prevent further flat tires.
We have a concert on the patio this afternoon. It is a "Gospel & Country" concert, and the musicians are from the RV Park.
The lady in black is from Alberta, and she sings very well.
We only stayed 20 minutes because this is not music we really like.
After the concert, we headed back to Michele and Gaétan for a cocktail. Dennis and Gail dropped by and we had a lot of fun.
It was hot today, it is so nice. The forecast over the next few days is hot, in the 30s.
Sunday March 17, 2019
It is going to be hot today.
We still went out for a bike ride with Michelle and Gaétan in the
morning. We biked almost 9 km around the RV Parks and
neighborhoods.
After a good lunch, we met again at the pool for a few hours.
Today is the St-Patrick' day. We had a small parade in the RV Park.
Again, we finished the afternoon with a cocktail with friends.
Monday and Tuesday, March 18 and 19, 2019
Two hot days! We spent most of the day reading in the
shade. Also some time in the pool and had a happy hour with our
friends.
Monday evening I had a fire, but Tuesday evening as bingo.
This photo is a normal photo.
And this one is with the function "Super Vivid."
It was in the +30° C both days.
Wednesday March 20, 2019
We have quite a change in the temperature today, only +22° C and the same for the next two or three days.
We did not do much, mostly reading, riding the bikes.
Thursday March 21, 2019
Another easy morning. We had a visit from Barry, Rose and Bettie before lunch. It is always fun to see them.
I got an email letting me know our parcel from amazon had come in the RV Park post office.
About a week ago we ordered more allergies pills, at only $0.03 per pill compare to $0.15 in Canada, you cannot go wrong!
I also ordered some "on-off-on" switches for the ceiling fans. A project for later.
We did a little shopping in the afternoon.
Friday March 22, 2019
Another easy morning, a little biking, some talking with neighbors, a good morning.
A few weeks ago I bought some frozen crawfish for one of my lunch. I love crawfish!
Well, today is the day I eat them.
I chose to warm them up on the BBQ instead of in water that way it keeps them more seasoned.
The first batch.
Hummm, I love them!
Meanwhile, Michele was reading.
We spent some time at the pool. Here I am having a shower before getting in the pool.
A good day.
Saturday March 23, 2019
I did a nice bike ride of 6 km this morning. Michele went to the Goodwill during that time.
A nice long truck our friend Gaétan has seen in town.
It is the birthday of Lorie today. She is one of our neighbor and we are invited.
They actually come from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan!
As you can see, we were quite a few people there.
I am on the left, next to me is Wayne and Lorie.
Me! Michele decided not to come.
We had hamburgers and hot dogs for supper. I have learned
something today. Once you have cooked all the hamburger meat and
sausages, you put them in a pan filled with a can of Coke and a bottle
of BBQ sauce to keep the warm. I was expecting the meat to make
my hamburger bread all wet, but no, the meat was juicy, not drippy and
very tasty.
Wayne and Lorie.
I made it back home by 8.30.
Sunday March 24, 2019
Another 6 km bike ride this morning.
I saw this on the way back. Drag racing for RC cars. They
were just setting up, I will come back this afternoon for the race.
Well, after lunch, Michele, Gaétan and I went back to watch the race.
They sure go fast.
We spent about an hour at the pool in late afternoon.
Monday March 25, 2019
Our neighbor across the street has some problems with the brake on his 5th Wheel.
While trying to figure out what is the cause of the problem, his truck
batteries went dead. I saw and heard he could not start his
truck, so I went and gave him a boost. That was my morning.
After lunch, I went back to help Ron figure out what the problem with
his truck is. After giving the boost, they went for a long ride
with the
truck, but when they got home, his truck would not restart.
Together,
we troubleshot the problem and it turns out to be the alternator.
I gave him a hand to remove it. It is Ron working, not me.
Most of the car or trucks I have seen have the alternator in a hard to
get to place, but this one has an easy access, right on top of the
engine. In fifteen minutes the alternator is out and when Ron
flipped it around, black/gray dust fell out. The brushes inside
are done.
I gave Ron a ride to O'Reilly Auto Parts to get a new alternator.
Lucky Ron, they have a new one, not refurbished. On top of that,
the pulley is already on the alternator. Back to the truck, in
less that 15 minutes the new alternator is in and Ron started the
truck, we checked and the alternator is now charging. Ron and
Laura are very happy. They wanted to give me something for the
help, but I said no need for that. They insisted, so I said, "A
Beer is all I want". So we all had a nice cold beer, it is 30° C
after all.
After the beer, Michele and I went to the pool with our friends Gaétan and Michelle. The water is really nice.
Gaétan probably made a joke to get us laughing.
After an hour in the water, we went for a Happy Hour at Gaétan and Michelle. Ron and Laura joined us shortly after.
It is 9 pm and it is still 26° C outside.
Tuesday March 26, 2019
I have more and more red blotches on my skin, so yesterday I called my
travel insurance to let them know I was going to see a doctor.
They opened a claim and recommended a clinic not far from the RV
Park. This morning I am at the Pinnacle Healthcare Clinic.
I tell them that they have accepted my health care insurance provider
and told me "NO". I will have to pay cash or plastic and claim my
travel insurance later on.
I had a three-quarter of an hour wait time before I say the doctor. Not bad for a walking clinic.
A little hard to see, but this is the rash I have and I got a lot of it.
They doctor came, looked at my rash, gave me a prescription, all is
good. Next I go to the billing station. I gave them my
credit card. It is declined. Next, is my debit card, also
declined! They want $210.00 for the consultation. I told
them I didn't have $210 on me and I have to go to the bank and get more
cash. I stopped at two ATM machine at gas station and both time
got declined. I finally made it to a bank and got money this
time. Back at the clinic, it is another person looking after
me. She looks at the bill and said "something is not right here"
and she left!!! She came back and corrected the amount to
$82.00. Great! The worst part was that I had $100.00 on me
to start with. All is good until I ask the doctor's documentation
about the diagnostic so I can claim my travel insurance. She told
me to come back tomorrow, WHAT! Can't you just print it?
No! It is in the cloud right now and it will be available
tomorrow!!! Really? Yep!
The plan was to go to try a new place for chinese food, but by the time
I got home I was not sure Michele would have eaten or not. It was
after 12.30 when I got back home. She was waiting for me, so off
we go to the chinese place. First we dropped off the prescription
a the local pharmacies and we will pick it up after lunch. We went
to the Eat Asian Buffet. It was good, tasty, but Michele and I
prefer the Lin's.
We got the prescription after lunch and I will start the medication tomorrow morning.
Wednesday March 27, 2019
Today was another cloudy day, just like yesterday and it is a good
thing because if the sun was out, it would have been a very hot day.
Michele went to the Goodwill to shop and I spent most of the morning
doing paperwork for my medical claim. I also scanned all the
document before I send them, just a precaution.
I start the medication today. I did not go to the pool because of
my skin rash, but Michele did go and told me the water was very good.
Tonight, we are having steak for supper. It is the last one from
the bucket of steak we bought last summer. We will buy more for
sure.
Michele took a surprise photo of me.
Since it is still hot outside, I am having my meal outside watching TV. It is 7:30 pm and still at 25° C.
A nice sunset.
Michele made a smart comment and started laughing and laughing...
We had a very good day. My rash seems to be healing.
Thursday March 28, 2019
The sun is shinning and I mailed my claim to the travel
insurance. Next is the Walmart for a few items. Once we got
back home, it was reading time and small chore around the MH. I
even renew the plate stickers on the car and the MH. They will be
home when we get back to Trenton.
Yesterday we got invited to a Happy Hour at a neighbor's place.
We are at Barbara and Cliff's place, nice people.
I forgot, Michele did go to the pool from 2 to 3 with Gaétan and Michelle. I joined them at 2.30 pm, but did not go in the pool.
Friday March 29, 2019
One more hot day, not that we complain!
Here I am shooting the breeze with Ron, our neighbor.
A nice day at home.
Saturday March 30, 2019
One last visit to the Arizona Market before we leave on April 7th.
We also heard they will be closing after this weekend.
All we bought was two ice cream cones.
More and more people are leaving the RV Park to go back home, up
north. This creates more Happy Hours because people want to say
goodbye and also get rid of all the snacks they may have in their RV.
This afternoon we are at Jeanette and Joe's place. L to R, Michelle, Gaétan, Gail, Dennis, Wayne and Judy.
Wayne, Judy, Jeanette, their grand-daughter Kaitlin and Joe.
We ended up staying until 8 pm. We had a great time.
Sunday March 31, 2019
I am still solving the world's problems with Ron and Laura!
We went to the pool, even I went in the pool. My rash seems to be going away for good.
It was a very windy day today.
Today's Happy Hour is at Michelle and Gaétan. There they are, way out there!
