Saturday February 16, 2019

Michele went to the Thrift Shop this morning.  When she got back, we went to the Yuma Swap & Meet.  It is just an ordinary flea market.  Some new stuff and some old stuff.  This place sells damaged food stuff near or just passed the "Best Before Date".

After the flea market, we went to another store that sells damage groceries too.

Next was a quick stop at the local Walmart and then back home by about 2 pm.
The wind still has quite the bite to it.

The other day, I went visiting Claude.  Claude told me he had problems with reception on his cell phone when he is indoor.  He has to step outside to make or take a call.  That gave me the idea that maybe it is the same reasons our internet is very slow with our cell phone!
I tracked down where the nearest cell phone tower was located and took our phone by the window where I can see the tower.  It happens to be our bedroom window.  Now our internet is very fast, the way it is supposed to be.

Sunday February 17, 2019

Claude and I went for breakfast this morning.  We ate at Brownie's Cafe.  It was good.

We spent most of the afternoon reading outside, sheltered from the wind.  When a cloud passed over us, it got cold.

Sunday evening is our big night to watch TV.

Monday February 18, 2019

It is sunny, but the maximum was only +16° C today.  If you were sheltered from the wind, it was nice.

I wanted an omelet for lunch today.  Lucky me, I got two yokes in one egg.

In the afternoon, I tackled a potential problem with our Brake Buddy.
The power cord going into the Brake Buddy is splitting, exposing the wires.  The Brake Buddy has a very long power cord, so I only had to cut the cord and make new connections.

Next on my "To Do" list.  The cover for the wire connection, when we are hooking up the car to the MH has come loose.
Four zip-ties later and all is good.

Next!
On the MH dashboard, where the climate control buttons are located is falling inside.
I take the dashboard apart and found the nuts holding the climate control board and re-tightened them.

That is enough for today.  Time to take a break!!!

Tuesday February 19, 2019

Another sunny day with only +16° C.  It is what it is!
At least the sky is blue.
I still went out for a short bike ride.  I saw this nice lemon tree.

Today is the full moon.  When you say full moon, you thing "Howling at the Moon."
We are meeting our friends Gaetan and Michelle at the site.

There is a large crowd at the site.  Can you see the stage way in the back?

The people you see are inside the cordon off areas, but there are has many people outside the cordon off area.
As we are waiting for the moon to rise, the band plays music and people dance.  They make it an event with food, fire pits and just plain old fun.

The dance floor.

The two musicians are good.
Did you see the wolf?

It is kind of hard to see the dance floor is full of people dancing.

The setting sun is illuminating the mountains.  It is beautiful.

The wolf!

A nice sunset.

Shortly after 7 we started to see some light coming over the mountains.

The moon slowly coming over the mountains.

And the howling started.  To see and hear the howling, click here.

A very nice evening.

We went out geocaching in the afternoon.
A mini tornado in one of the fields.

A few of the caches were located near some irrigation canals.

A field being harvested.  I believe it is cabbage being harvested.

We never saw a cache like this one before.
The cache is in the white tube.  To get the cache out you have to fill the white tube with water, but the tube has a hole in the bottom.  So you cover the hole with a finger and fill the tube until the cache comes over the top.  Simple, but effective.

A field after being harvested.

On our way back home, we stopped at the local grocery store, Food City.

It was a good day.

Thursday February 21, 2019

Last night, I received an email from our friends Gaetan and Michelle.  When we were at Howling at the moon, I mentioned to them we were thinking about going back to Western Sands after our month here.  So yesterday he stopped at the office and found out they had a spot open the same day we will be leaving here.  This morning we headed to Western Sands to book our next month.  If we can, we always try to make a reservation in person.  It is better than on the phone.

After booking our site, we dropped by Gaetan and Michelle.  They are very happy that we will be coming back at Western Sands.

It rained in the afternoon.

Friday February 22, 2019

A quiet day at home.  We did go to the hot tub in late afternoon.  The sun is shinning, but the wind still has a good bite to it.

Saturday February 23, 2019

I knew it was going to be cold last night, but frost?

It is the Patio Sale in the RV Park.  Michele and I are on our bike by 8 am to make sure we miss nothing.
Michele bought a few books and some plates.  Me?  I spent $2 on two items.
The first is a gate valve like I bought a few weeks ago.  I paid $1 for this one, while I paid $20 for the other one.

The other $1 went for this RV Hydro Flush.  It allows you to flush your black and gray water tanks.

I bought them for my brother-in-law, Patrice, if he wants them.
I also bought a smaller propane tank for $5.  More about that tomorrow.
We did go to the hot tub in the afternoon.

Sunday February 24, 2019

This is the propane tank I bought yesterday.

The person I bought it from told me the valve was damaged and he could not attach a propane hose to it.  Today I will check this out.
First, I tried to hook up a propane hose to the inner threaded part of the valve.  No go.  Next, I tried to attach a different propane hose to the outer threaded part of the valve.  It works fine.  Next, I went to get the tank fill at the local propane fill station.  No problems there either, no leak all.  They use the outer threaded part of the valve.  Back home, I tried the BBQ with the new tank, no leaks.  I tried also with our propane fire place, and again, no leaks.  So, for $5, I got myself an almost new 11 pounds propane tank.

Monday February 25, 2019

Michele went to shop in Thrift Stores while I went for a bike ride this morning.
During the afternoon I also spent some time in the club house surfing the internet.  I refilled our fresh-water tank with a little bit of bleach to do my semi-annual sanitation of the water system.  I had a few beers with some neighbors.  A busy day not doing much.

Tuesday February 26, 2019

I had a lazy morning.  The weather is warming up nicely with a max of 22° C for today.

Michele knows I like eating out at a Chinese Buffet.  She takes me out to Lin's again.

After we got back home.  We saw that the sky was all clouds.  Why not go out and geocache today.  The series we are doing is easy and it just to make you numbers go up quickly.

Is this a cabbage patch?

We manage to get 11 caches today.  But we had to stop because an urgent nature call go to me!!!

Tuesday night!  Time for bingo!

Here are the professionals that did not win anything.

Another good day.

Wednesday February 27, 2019

This morning I tackled a visual problem.
Our bathroom faucet is supposed to be brushed nickeled.  But for some reasons some parts are becoming shiny!

So I used the Magic Eraser to remove the "brushed Nickeled and make it all shiny.  It took an hour, but it is done.

The other day while I was using the RV Park internet at the club house, I watched a U-Tube video on how to adjust the rear derailleur on a bicycle.  Today I am doing it.  Surprise!  It worked.

Thursday February 28, 2019

It is a nice 28° C today.  We are back to normal temperatures.
I went biking for about 7 km today and we read all afternoon.

Until next time.

Life is good...
