Shoot! A light on the dashboard comes on! The motorhome has
some hesitation.
We stop at the next rest area and I check the connection on the sensor
they changed. We get back on the road and everything is running
good.
WOW! A 1972 Opel...
This transport truck reminded us of the TV show "Shipping War".
A few times during the day, we were hit by rain.
Our next night is at the Town & Country in West Salem, Ohio.
Another good day on the road.
Sunday May 17, 2015
Our home at Town & Country. The front wheels are not touching
the ground!
It is still a nice RV Park.
The county road to get to the RV park!
A good thing there is no traffic...
Back on I-71 and the rain.
From Ohio to Pennsylvania for only a little less than 75 km.
Another "Shipping War"?
New York State has some "Text
Stop".
Buffalo and the Canadian border coming up!
Going through custom was a breeze. We continue to Sicard RV to
check out some motorhome.
They are closed and we move to the Hamilton Walmart. We did not
realize it is a long weekend and Sicard is closed on Monday! Darn!
Monday May 18, 2015
After looking at the option we have, we decide to carry on to North
Shore RV Park.
Goodbye Walmart!
Monday being a holiday, there is very little traffic on the 401 as we
drive through Toronto.
We are finally home for about a month.
We met Janie and Jan, the owner, and talk for about 10 minutes about
each other's trip back to Canada. He has a nice site for
us. It is in the seasonal side of the park. Slowly, we
set-up our home!
Tuesday May 19, 2015
We have a busy day ahead of us. We have many places to go and
make appointments.
Look at this big turtle!
As usual, the first stop is at the car wash.
Next stop is at the UPS store to pick up our mail. It is followed
by a stop at the pharmacy for some prescription refill and across the
street to H&R Block to get our income taxes done.
With all our things done in Trenton, we move to Belleville.
First stop, the bank for some deposit and a new ATM card for
Michele. Next is the dentist to schedule an appointment for a
cleaning. A stop to schedule an appointment for Michele's hearing
aids and finally schedule an appointment at the doctor's office.
To finish off our day, grocery shopping!
Wednesday May 20, 2015
Our home for the next month.
We had to buy two new tires for the front of the car. We did not
buy the tires in the United States because with the exchange rates, it
is not worth it.
The temperature goes up to +16°C with a cool wind coming off the Lake
Ontario, BRRR!
We are not complaining because we have a nice sunny sky.
Thursday May 21, 2015
We have a relaxing morning.
We spend the afternoon looking for caches in the Brighton area.
We even had a short walk in one of the conservation area, but the
mosquitoes got the best of us.
We had a good day caching with 12 caches found.
Friday May 22, 2015
While I am having breakfasts, the owner of the Park comes by and asks
if I could go pick up some stuff in town for him. When we came
in, I offered to help if he needed little things to be done. It
will have to be in the afternoon as we have a dental appointment this
morning. On our way to Belleville, we pick-up my prescription in
Trenton.
All is good with our teeth. See you next year Dentist!
Before we head home, we stop at a few thrift shoppes for Michele.
Once we are back home, I go back to town to pick up the stuff Jan needs.
Usually, on Friday evening we go play darts at the clubhouse. Not
this evening, the cold and our allergies keeps us home.
They forecast frost for tonight.
Saturday May 23, 2015
We are up early because Michele wants to go "yard saleing".
It is sunny, but some cold at +2°C.
When I look outside, I see white stuff on the BBQ and the car!!!
Michele told me that last night when she came to bed, it was -3°C.
We did about a dozen yard sales this morning. On our way back
home, we found a few caches.
A camouflage rubber ducky?
I almost forgot Michele's sharp eye found this little bike for
Gabriel. We think Gabriel will love it, he really likes "Cars".
We found only 3 caches today.
Sunday May 24, 2015
Last evening I was talking to Michele about doing all the caches in
Prince Edward County (PEC).
She wants to do it too, but we will not do it in one day...
This morning we hit the road at 10 am. Why the PEC? Because
it is "almost" an island.
It is still windy, but warmer today.
This is a new barn and the roof is covered by solar panels.
Ontario sure does use solar energy.
Darn! Our first cache is located at the Sandbanks winery. I
guess I will have to buy a bottle of wine!
I mentioned it before, but geocaching takes us places we probably would
not have been to.
WOW! We had to walk in a field and the mosquitoes were so
bad. We had to drive a long way to get here, we did find this
cache!
On our way back, we drive through the little town of Picton. We
stop and look for some caches in town.
I am always surprise by the way nature deals with obstacles...
Are we not cute?
We got 22 caches, one ice-cream cone and one banana split today!
Monday June 25, 2015
This is a morning spent working on the blog update.
The sky is turning cloudy and in the afternoon, we go to town for some
grocery shopping.
Tuesday May 26, 2015
Michele has her annual appointment at Helix for her hearing
aids. She comes out of Helix with no changes to her hearing.
At the same time, I go out for a short bike ride looking for a few
caches. The first cache description mentions the presences of
poison ivy in the area. I do not like that. I am worried I
will catch it again! I did not look very close to find this
one. Of to the next one and I find it no problems and without
poison ivy...
Once I am back at the motorhome, the weather is turning very nice, I
decide to tackle the main door handle mechanism. It has been
getting looser over time. I repair the handle in no time and
everything is working like new.
Wednesday May 27, 2015
After waking up and brushing my teeth, I go in Brighton having my
breakfast in a local restaurant. After the breakfast, I
carried on to buy a piece of aluminum to fix my basement door.
$35 later I have the piece of aluminum in my hands and drive home, but
I found one cache before I got home...
Here is my problem with the basement door.
Where the gas cylinder is attached to the door, well, the piece of wood
in the door is rotten.
I remove all the rotten wood to get to the good wood.
I cut a piece of wood, put a lot of glue and clamp it in place and let
it dry for a few days.
After that, we had a good lunch and left to go to Belleville.
Our first stop is back at Helix because they have given the wrong size
batteries to Michele.
Next is a stop at our financial adviser to find the best way to use our
money to buy a new motorhome. After looking at all options, we
now know how much we can spend on a new motorhome.
Thursday May 28, 2015
We are on the road by six thirty this morning. Our first stop is
at the McDonald for an (not) healthy breakfast.
We stopped at the 1000 islands RV in Gananoque to look at a
motorhome. After we had a look, we decided we did not like this
layout.
Next, we continue our drive to St-Eustache, near Montreal.
Montreal is not a pleasant city to drive into and when you had rain, it
is very un-pleasant.
We decided to have lunch before we start looking at motorhome at Cité
Caravanes.
That is not just my lunch, it is a shared lunch.
We finally arrived at our destination.
We know they have three RV we really like here. The salesman is
not putting any pressure for us to buy. We looked at 3 or 4
motorhomes and our eyes always get back to this one.
We decide to buy this one. It is a new 2015 Georgetown XL 378.
A tour of the inside.
Living room and dining room.
Kitchen.
No need to tell you about this place!
Our bedroom.
After talking to the salesman, we got a "temporary" value on our old
motorhome. He will give us the "real" value once he sees it.
Nathalie in the financing department is very good and tells us all
about our options regarding prolonged coverage. She makes
everything easy to understand. We will be back to pick up our new
motorhome on June 18th.
With all the dealing done, we head to my brother's place to have supper
and spend the night.
We talked so much that we forgot to take any photos.
Friday May 29, 2015
After a good "pizza" breakfast, we get back on the road to Trenton and
our old motorhome.
Thank you very much Rolland and Suzie for taking us in like that.
We will come back in a few weeks with the new motorhome.
Back at our RV Park, I went and played darts in the evening.
Michele stayed home and watched TV.
Saturday May 30, 2015
It is sunny and warm this morning. We are off garage "saleing"
the whole morning.
In the afternoon, I complete the repair on the basement door.
Our neighbours from last year, Johanne and Claude, invited us for a
pontoon ride in late afternoon.
On our way to Lake Ontario.
It is nice on the water. Johanne and Claude.
Me.
And no photo of Michele!
We had a thunderstorm in the evening and rain the rest of the night.
Sunday May 31, 2015
We woke up to a gray sky, rain, the wind moving things around and the
temperature trying to get pass 9°C, but can not make it.
An indoor day I think!
