A busy morning! We are up early, for us because we have our
annual blood work samples taken. Of course, we did not have any
food or drinks other than water for the last 12 hours. Therefore,
we are
at the LifeLab office in Trenton at 7 am and we got out of there by
8:30 am. We did not have appointments, not too bad after all!
With this chore done, we head to A&W for a well-deserved and
un-healthy breakfast.
Our next stop is Canadian Tire. We purchased replacement 12 volts
lightbulb so we can take our LED light back from the motorhome.
The following stop is at Service Ontario office in Brighton. I
want to know if I need to get any inspection or other test on the new
motorhome before we get it. The answer is no! Good stuff!
We are back home just in time for lunch.
The thermometer got as high as +15°C with a cool wind from the
north. It is cold for us!
I stay inside and work on my blog update. I also take a good walk
in the park and we finish the day with TV.
Tuesday June 2, 2015
I wake up to a nice sunny sky.
This is a coffee morning and laptop. I take a few good long walk
in the park and the wind from the north is still on the cold side.
After lunch, I call the Wakamow Park in Moose Jaw and book a RV site
from August 13 until the end of September.
We finally got our dates to visit families this summer.
Here is the plan!
June 15, we are going to the campground at Pointe-aux-cascades and
visit our friends Charles and Agnes.
June 18, we move to the RV dealer to finalize all the paperwork for the
purchase of the new motorhome. Over the next few days, we will
move our stuff from the old to the new motorhome. When this is
done, the salesman and us will drive to Ontario where we will sign the
paperwork.
We should be back at North Shore RV Park by June 19 or 20 for a week.
June 27, we are back in Québec to visit my sister Christianne and her
boyfriend Julien until July 2.
Our next stop is at my other sister, Estelle, and it will be at the
cottage they have. We will be there until July 6.
July 6 to 20, we are visiting Michele's brother, Patrice. At the
same time, our son Benoit will come for a visit at Patrice.
Our last family stop will be at my brother's place until July 27.
At the
same time, our son Benoit will come for a visit at Rolland.
At this time, we will start our trip to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
We will be visiting our oldest son, Jeremy and our grandson
Gabriel.
We should be there until the end of September.
As we will be traveling west, we will make a few stop at friends places.
After lunch, I wash all the windows of the motorhome.
After the windows, I cook all the bacon we have. I will freeze
the bacon and use it for my breakfast. It is hard not to eat it
all...
After diner, I spend a few hours talking with our neighbour's inside
their
trailer.
Wednesday June 3, 2015
With a nice sunny sky, we spend the afternoon caching.
Right next to where we park, these two Llamas
got really interested in us!
We walk an abandoned railroad, track turn into a trail. We found
8
caches and let me tell you, I was looking for poison ivy...
One cache is located in/on top of the post and another one is in a
swap. The mosquitoes are hungry.
With the 8 caches under our belt, we carry on to find a few more.
We looked for the one next to the Murray Canal.
We had a good day caching and we got 18 of them. Even one where
there was possible poison ivy.
Spent some time talking to our neighbour Del.
Del and Nancy invited us for a campfire, our first in 2015.
We ended up going to bed pas midnight!
Thursday June 4, 2015
We have our medical appointments this morning, just a follow-up on our
blood work.
We are in the doctor's office for about 10 minutes and all is good with
both of us. Good for another year I guess!
We do some grocery shopping and even have an OK lunch at the local
(Trenton) Chinese buffet.
Back home, I play around with the "quadcopter", but there is too much
wind.
A very nice day!
Friday June 5, 2015
Yesterday when we got home, Michele lifted a shopping bag with only two
boxes of cookies and BAM! Her back is locked.
This morning, Michele is in pain. Off to the emergency room at
the Trenton Hospital. Michele goes through triage at 11:45.
The emergency room is busy. Michele is in the consultation room
by 1:45. Pretty simple diagnostic, a super spasm, her back
is as
hard as cement. The doctor prescribes two shots and
medication. She also recommends a visit to the
chiropractor. The nurse gives Michele the two shoots and Michele
says they hurt as much as the back pain!!! A comment about the
hospital here in Trenton. The staff we have had to deal with were
relaxed, helpful and very polite. They look happy to work there.
The door to the consultation room.
After we got back home, Michele is flying like a kite and she goes
between sleep and awake...
I go by myself to the darts tonight.
Saturday June 6, 2015
Michele is sleeping in, with the help of the medication!
Me? I am out caching and I found 12 of them.
Back home for lunch, I find Michele up and about, very slowly.
Michel tells me it is not as bad as yesterday.
I am helping my neighbour to spread some dirt in the afternoon.
I also do a lot of supervision...
We pass the evening watching TV.
Sunday June 7, 2015
While Michele is still taking it easy with her back, I am out doing
some more caching. I got 12 caches and 2 I did not attempt
because of possible poison ivy.
I finally decide to finish the area around the fridge.
The center arrow indicates the wood trimming next to the door to make
it look nicer.
The upper and lower arrows show you where I will be placing a thin
piece of wood with an oak finish.
For those that know me, I need to measure many times before I cut
anything because I can screw it up easily...
Lucky me, I did good this time!
I am being supervised by this young robin.
Here, I am glueing the thin veneer of oak to the piece of wood.
Some glue and I put the finished product in place.
The new finish above the fridge.
Before and after photos!
It looks a lot nicer.
We had a nice sunny day, but the wind still has a bite to it.
Michele's back is getting better.
Monday June 8, 2015
Last night, we had some very heavy rain. Add a few thunderstorms
and this was the night! The bright side of all the rain?
The motorhome is not leaking!
For some strange reasons, I am up by 6:45 this morning! Rain is
falling all morning. I finally can go for a walk by eleven thirty.
Friday evening, I noticed my upper front tooth was a little
loose.
It got worse over the weekend. I called my dentist this morning
for an appointment and I got one for tomorrow afternoon.
We are in Belleville this afternoon for Michele's appointment at the
chiropractor.
The chiropractor did what a chiropractor do! Michele does feel
the effects now, but tomorrow will be better. Next appointment is
Wednesday afternoon.
A few days ago, the campground owner mentioned that they purchased a
property next road over. I remembered we found a cache a few
weeks back. Sure enough the cache is gone! The arrow points
to where the cache was.
I e-mailed the cache owner to let him know the cache is gone.
Today I got an e-mail from the campground owner asking us if we could
move from our current spot in the seasonal area to a spot in the
overnight area. We knew this was going to happen eventually and
it is not a problem. We will move tomorrow morning.
Tuesday June 9, 2015
With my breakfast over, I start to move stuff with the car. We
only have to move about 3 or 4 hundred meters. Just as I finished
moving all our out door stuff, the rain starts to come down hard.
The arrow indicates where our new home will be.
As we are moving, the firefighter trucks are coming to the campground!
One of the park model "almost" caught on fire!
I do not know the details of this incident.
A robin indicating the club house?
Our friends Charles and Agnes have asked us to buy two Corned Beef
Brisket for them. They cannot find any in Quebec.
As we are going to my dentist appointment, we shop for briskets.
WOW! Diesel is cheaper than gas!
At the dentist, they take an x-ray of my front tooth. They can
see an horizontal fracture in the tooth. Darn! Thinking
about it, I realize that it is not too bad since I had 22 crowns done
and only one broke so far! The dentist glued it back temporarily
and I will have to see him again tomorrow for a more permanent
"temporary" fix. The other way fix it is to put a "post" in the
tooth and the crown using the old crown. I will have to check how
much it will cost in the United States compare to here and go from
there.
Wednesday June 10, 2015
My dental appointment is in Frankford this time. Our dentist is
part of a group who owns dental offices in three different
location. The dentist move between offices as required.
My tooth is back in place with a semi-permanent glue. We treat
ourselves with a breakfast in a small restaurant in Trenton. It
was an OK breakfast and we probably will not go there again!
In the afternoon, we are back in Belleville for the second appointment
at the chiropractor for Michele.
The weatherman tells us we are under a thunderstorm warning until
tonight!
This is not the sun rising up, but the clouds coming over the area.
Michele found the chiropractor treatment a little painful.
We got home just before the big rain starts. We had a few big
thunderstorms through-out the evening.
Notice the reflection in the window, we even lost satellite reception
for 15 minutes!
Between two thunderstorms, we got this nice sunset.
Another good day, but I feel like we are on the road all the time!!!
Thursday June 11, 2015
No appointments today!!!
Most of my morning is spent socializing as I walk around the RV Park.
After the rain we got over the last three days, people are out and
about.
With the sun shinning, I am reading outside.
After dinner, the park owner comes with this car on a trailer!
This car will be modified and painted the colour of the RV Park and
raced in October at the local track.
Guess what? Rain is forecasted for tomorrow!
Friday June 12, 2015
Yes, the rain is back and it comes down hard between six and ten am.
We are in Belleville once more for Michele's appointment at the
chiropractor. With the appointment over, we stop at Metro and
purchase two briskets for Charles and Agnes.
Why not stop at the local Chinese buffet for lunch!
On our way back we stop at the Giant Tiger in Trenton and I used that
time to get a cache located in the parking lot.
We get home just before the heavy rain starts again. It will last
all evening!
Here I am hard at reading my book!
Today being Friday, we have darts at the club house. Michele
stays home because of her back and I go prepared for the elements.
Our team won 3 out of 5 games and I finished one myself. A good
evening.
Saturday June 13, 2015
No photos for today!
Made a fire in the afternoon and lot of reading.
We even got lots of sunshine today!
Sunday June 14, 2015
With the sun shining this morning, I do some more socializing as I take
my walk around the park.
Michele does a cleanup of all the books in the motorhome.
I have another fire in the afternoon and do some reading.
I even try a dip in the pool, but at 22°C, I do not stay in long.
The clouds are back by 11 am and the rain is back by 3 pm.
I had time to place our stuff for our travel tomorrow.
We will be joining Charles and Agnes in Point-des-Cascades.
We cannot wait to see them again...
Monday June 15, 2015
Ready for departure!
Michele offers me a lunch at Burger King.
We arrived at Charles and Agnes' campground by one thirty. Once
installed, we head to Charles and Agnes place for diner.
We got a lot of catching up to do and the beer is good. The wine
is
good and so is the food. We had to do a crazy photo!!!
