I went to the walk-in clinic this morning. I have to pay from my
own pocket, but I will be reimbursed later. It costs $101.90 US
for the visit at the walk-in clinic.
Two hours later, I am back at home and this includes the time spent at
the pharmacy waiting for my prescription.
I now have to take 6 pills on day one, 5 pills on day two and so
on... Let wait and see if this works...
We went back one last time to the Shrimp Basket for lunch. This
time we went with friend we met at the RV Park. Joyce and
Jules. They are very nice people. This is their first
winter trip south, for a few months, in a trailer. They have so
many questions about RVing and it is a pleasure to answer them.
The weather forecast calls for rain tonight and tomorrow. Time
to put away more stuff before the rain comes.
A very good day overall.
Wednesday December 2, 2015
It rained all night, we got 51 mm or
2 inches of rain.
The pills I am taking are working very hard. My hives are
starting to dry out!
No photos today!!!
I put away the last few things in the MH except the fresh water hose,
the sewer hose and the power cord.
We got the inside as ready as we could for tomorrow.
Thursday December 3, 2015
I had a terrible night last. The medication I am taking has some
weird side-effects. I got some pretty weird dreams last night.
This mean very little sleep. I am up by 6 am.
We are now ready to move...
Once out of our site, we hook up the car to the MH.
We are leaving the Emerald Coast behind us...
Following the coast, we cross many bridges.
We even drive through Tyndall Air Forces Base.
Sometimes, we drive on road like an interstate and some time in towns
and villages.
One more bridge. A fisherman coming back from fishing.
The first few hours of our drive are next to the gulf.
We saw million dollar houses and beautiful condos.
Once again, we fill the MH and even with the exchange rate, it turns
out
to cost us $0.72 per litres.
WOW!
The last time we were in this area, we stopped here for some fresh
shrimps.
We had to buy some more...
We spend the night at the Walmart in Perry.
I find this so stupid when some RVer has his slides out in a parking
lot of a Walmart!
They are the ones who will make Walmart stop allowing RVs parking for
the
night at their stores!!!
Education does not necessarily make you smart, does it?
This Walmart is very quiet.
Friday December 4, 2015
Once again, a terrible night for me! I get that I have to take
all my medicine, but I cannot wait to be done with them and the
side-effects.
I am up by 5:30 this morning!
It is not only a few RV owners that are idiots, some drive cars too!
The BIG parking lot is empty, but no, he has to park in front of the MH
to make it hard for me to get out of there!!!
I have to back up a little with the car hooked up, not good for the tow
bar...
We left the Walmart behind us by 8 o'clock.
Is he taking his chickens out for a drive?
Before we get to our new home, we fill up the MH one last time in 2015.
The cost per litres? $0.67, not bad at all!
As usual, time to wash the car after being pulled behind the MH.
This morning it was +11°C, but now it is +25°C.
Saturday December 5, 2015
I had a very good night sleep last night, for a change, and I am still
taking my medicine.
The fact that we are no longer camped right next to the highway makes a
world of difference too.
So, I woke up at 9 am and spent the morning doing nothing, reading the
local paper and information guide about the area.
Today being Saturday, it is Yard Saleing Day!
I am looking at the ground because it is like powder.
We stopped at the Bank of America for some cash. I probably wrote
about this before, but most Canadian banks are "twined" with American
banks. This means you can withdraw money without having to pay
service fee above the exchange rate.
We also stopped by a few Thrift Shops. I went looking for some
caches while Michele was in the shops.
I found two caches.
Our neighbours are really in the Christmas spirit.
I wanted to wash the MH today, but got lazy... I wanted to take
some photos of our site, but I forgot!
Tomorrow maybe!
Sunday December 6, 2015
Another sunny day!
Busy reading outside.
Here is our site.
It does not look nice yet because we are not
entirely set-up yet. I will wash the MH tomorrow, or the day
after!!!
This is our street.
When I say one RV Park is like the next RV Park, this is the RV Park we
were in Arizona in 2013.
Does it look similar?
This is not to say one RV Park is better than the other! Just to
say they resemble a lot from one to the other.
Today is my lovely wife Michele's birthday. A carrot cake...
As per our tradition with Benoit, we do a Tequila shooter to celebrate
Michele's birthday. This is for you Benoit.
We are getting better at this. We only had to do it twice to get
good photos.
We are meeting more and more people from the park.
Monday December 7, 2015
WOW! Time is just flying by!
I finally washed the MH.
After a few hours of work, it is all clean.
We have had some very nice sunset the past few days.
Our first bingo at Hillcrest RV Park.
I got lucky and won $40.
Some of the residents are really into the Christmas spirit...
We went to the local flea market. It is about 10 minutes from our
RV Park.
It is all right, but a little small and very little junk that we like
to
look at.
The rest of the day is spent reading, Michele in the sun and me in the
shade.
When we looked up from our books, we saw this zeppelin in the
sky. It is advertising Direct TV and it even has a big screen TV
in the zeppelin.
So far, the weather is very nice here.
Our neighbour asked us to join them for a 4 to 6 cocktail with a few of
their friends.
I found only one cache today. I actually only looked for one!
Wednesday December 9, 2015
I was out riding my bike for 12 km and found 3 caches.
We went visiting our good friends Charles and Agnes at Tampa
East RV Resort. It is about 30 minutes away from our RV Park.
They just bought a 5th Wheel that is permanently installed at the RV
Park.
We are happy for them.
Charles and Agnes are very happy.
We always have a good time when we meet them.
We had a very good visit with Charles and Agnes.
Thursday December 10, 2015
We did not do much today, but I still found one cache.
We mostly did read in the shade and did some little chores around the
MH.
Friday December 11, 2015
I had a good morning doing some geocaching. I rode my bike for 17
km and found 10 caches. We found one more when we were at Home
Depot.
Here I am putting our purchases on the floor and Michele puts them away.
Another +29°C day.
I had to read in the shades, it was too hot in the sun.
Saturday December 12, 2015
The RV Park had a Park wide yard sale this morning.
Time to get rid of some items we no longer use.
We did pretty good, I made almost $20 this morning and most of our
stuff is gone.
We had a surprise this morning, we saw our friends Charles and Agnes in
our RV Park!
They were visiting some friends.
They stopped for a few hours on their way home.
This was one more +29°C day and we are not complaining.
Sunday December 13, 2015
It will be cooler today they say. Down to +27°C!?!?
After lunch, me and Michele went for a bike ride to the RV Park next to
us.
Why did I take a photo of this street?
My brother Rolland, using google hearth, noticed a street with the same
name as one of our
sister, Estelle.
This photo is for you Estelle!
Now you know that Zephyrhills, Florida, has a street with your name...
It was somewhat cooler today as they forecasted. This is what we
did most of the day.
It was a good week.
Monday December 14, 2015
We had a cloudy sky, but no rain.
Time to start the shoe-rack.
We are using "click floor" to make the shelves because it is
lightweight and rigid.
I glued 3 planks together. I will cut them in 3 pieces tomorrow
when the glue has dried.
I also glued 3 smaller pieces together.
We had a few raindrops, but not enough to stop us.
Since we are on a roll, we continued and made a floor for the long
compartment.
It looks pretty good I think!
Today being Monday, it is bingo night!
Do you think I won any money?
Michele was just as unlucky as I was, but she was still happy.
Some players are serious players...
We had a good day today.
Tuesday December 15, 2015
We continued with our project for the shoe-rack.
Here is the floor we did yesterday.
Now we start the shoe-rack.
In an RV, weight is always something you try to keep low.
So when you build something, you try to make it as light as possible.
This is why we use "click-floor" as planks and I also use PVC pipes to
support the planks.
The arrow shows you the shoe-rack almost completed.
This is the completed shoe-rack.
We are pretty happy with the results.
With the left over pieces, I built another floor under my chest of
drawers...
We have used all the click-floor we bought. I think we only had 3
little pieces left.
After we were all done, the rain started to come down hard for about
half an hour.
Our awning is almost horizontal and for the water to run off, I some
time have to pull a corner down and leave the broom on it to keep it
down.
I also had to add a small piece of pipe to the end of the rain gutters
to move the water away from the RV mirrors.
When the water fell on the mirror, it made a lot of noise.
Another good day.
For the last few days, the temperature was and still is in the +30°C
and the humidity is 95%.
