Today is a big and busy day.
We are on our way to Medicine Hat, Alberta to pick up Gabriel.
We will also see our son Jeremy who is coming back from a month on the
road with the Snowbirds.
Now back to this morning. We have to drive four hours to meet
with
Danielle and pick up Gabriel.
The Canadian prairies, it is flat, but some hills make for a nice
change.
There are so many old cars on the road.
We got to Medicine Hat a little early, so we shopped for a new laptop
for Michelle. Hers died a few days ago.
Shorty after, Danielle and Gabriel arrive at the McDonald where we
meet. Why at McDonald? This one has a play place in it and
it is a good place for Gabriel to burn some energy after a 4 hours
drive and before the next four hours drive to Moose Jaw.
Here he is having a good time.
We are back on the road by one thirty pm.
Michele is very busy with Gabriel.
What we see for the next four hours...
I wish I could do that too!
At the motorhome, Gabriel is always asking, "Where is Daddy?"
Jeremy should be here in a few hours.
We keep Gabriel busy and we took a nice walk, read some books...
A little crasiness!
Jeremy finally arrives and this is one happy father and son.
We spend all evening talking about his tour with the Snowbirds and us
about our past winter in Texas
We are so happy to see our son, Jeremy and grandson Gabriel. Word
cannot describe how happy we are...
Monday August 17, 2015
Get ready because you will see many photos of Jeremy and Gabriel.
Breakfast with our two loved one.
Gabriel loves his new books.
We have way too many mosquitoes to be outside at the campground.
We decided to spend the day at Jeremy and Gabriel's place.
Gabriel was very happy to play with his toys.
Gabriel was so concentrated playing with play-doh, he had his tongue
sticking out!
Jeremy had two days off. We will be spending a lot of time with
both of
them.
We left Jeremy and Gabriel at home and we are back in the motorhome for
the night. This way, Jeremy and Gabriel will have a father and
son
time.
Tuesday August 18, 2015
Jeremy and Gabriel coming this morning and they even have a coffee for
Grand-papa.
Gabriel decided to wear a tuque this morning!
We only had to cross the road to get to a park.
Gabriel had a lot of fun at this playground.
We got Gabriel running just to get him tired.
Back at his house, Gabriel is busy drilling holes in the floor.
There is nothing like a hot-dog for diner.
After our meal is over, we went out for a walk, but even here the
mosquitoes are very bad. We even had to get back home sooner.
A nice clean Gabriel.
A very relaxed Jeremy.
We did a lot of thinking and we will be moving out of the campground
and moving in Jeremy's driveway. There are way too many
mosquitoes at the campground and it will be easier for Gabriel to play
in his home.
Wednesday August 19, 2015
Jeremy is back to work this morning. Michele is babysitting
Gabriel at seven am.
I got up at nine am. After a good breakfast, I drove the
motorhome
to the Ford dealership for an oil change. It is done at 5000 km
because it is the breaking period for the engine. I also filled
the propane tank.
During that time, Michele is very busy with Gabriel. Gabriel had
a good snack!
By ten am, the temperature is nice enough for Gabriel to play outside.
The oil change is completed by eleven thirty and I am back at Jeremy's
place for lunch.
After a good nap, Gabriel is back outside and we are catching some bugs.
What a big aircraft carrier.
We had such a busy afternoon that we now have to fill up on energy!
Nachos-in-a-bag.
I must be hurting Gabriel!
The motorhome is now in place in the driveway. Tomorrow Gabriel
and I will be washing it.
Thursday August 20, 2015
Jeremy is gone to work and I am with Gabriel. We were spending
time outside again.
A little boy and a water gun, happiness!
I started to wash the roof of the motorhome a nine thirty.
Gabriel and Michele were watching me.
Gabriel was giving me a hand getting ready to wash the motorhome.
Gabriel got the windshield wet and I had to wash the bugs off.
The grass must need water!
Gabriel was really good at rinsing the motorhome.
A clean motorhome ready for a coat of wax.
Time for some relaxing time after a hard days work.
I have had so much fun washing the motorhome with Gabriel. At
times, I was wetter than the motorhome. Doing this brought so
many memories of me washing the car with Jeremy and Benoit when they
were little like Gabriel.
Friday August 21, 2015
It is a little on the cool side this morning.
Gabriel in action.
I started to wax the motorhome.
Gabriel wanted a photo of me and him with the motorhome.
Gabriel was having a good time.
What a dessert, a giant marshmallow! When Gabriel saw the
marshmallow, he said, "It is snow". Like in the movie Frozen!
Tonight Gabriel is sleeping in the motorhome. Jeremy will have a
sleep in tomorrow morning.
Gabriel watching a movie with some glow sticks.
A great day again. I finished waxing the front "cap" of the
motorhome.
I could not finish the back "cap" of the motorhome because a worker
renovating the PMQ next door stopped and talked to me for over an
hour. Then the rain started!
Us retirees, sure have some problems at times...
Saturday August 22, 2015
Gabriel has spent a good night with Gran-maman on the hide-a-bed in the
living room.
Gran-maman did not!!! Gabriel moves as much in his sleep as when
he is awake.
The rain started around 3 am this morning and did not stop until 3 pm.
What did we do with weather like that?
We went shopping in Regina!
We had lunch at Ricky's in Regina.
Being noon, we understood we would have to wait a little for our food.
An hour later!!!
The waitress was nice and took a photo of us...
After over an hour, our meal finally arrived. My chicken wings
were warm, like they spent 20 minutes under the heat lamp.
Gabriel's hamburger is raw!!!
I have a few words with the manager.
He is nice and apologies and pays for our meals.
We did not want a free meal, just hot food and not a long extra long
wait.
Do I attract incompetence?
I guess sometimes it happens.
We continued our shopping at Cabela's. We were here mostly for
Gabriel so he could look at all the stuffed animals.
A few more stores and we were back at home.
Our diner was some "whatsleft".
Gabriel is sleeping in the motorhome tonight again. It was in the
low tens at night.
I always find it funny to see a small kid in a queen bed. He
looked so small!
It felt colder because of the rain and humidity. It is supposed to warm
up tomorrow.
Sunday August 23, 2015
Another easy day at home.
Jeremy and Gabriel were gone most of the day. They were helping
John to build a shed.
Michele fixing us another good meal.
Now that Gabriel was clean, we watched a movie with him. John's
kids gave Gabriel an airplane. Gabriel sure was not going to let
it go!
We just had a super week with our two loved one.
Monday August 24, 2015
A nice morning.
Gabriel trying out is new bicycle.
I continued to wax the motorhome. Gabriel was asking a lot of
questions.
Life is so simple for a child...
A good dessert!
After a good nap, nothing like playing in the dirt.
This is today's life.
Once Gabriel was in bed, we all got in front of our screen!
One more good day! Life is good!
Tuesday August 25, 2015
Grand-maman was spying on us?
A world to discover, a ladybug!
I am almost done with the waxing of the motorhome.
Gabriel was so hungry today.
Gabriel went to the dentist this afternoon. Gabriel and Jeremy
had lots of stories to tell us about the dentist.
It was a very good experience for Gabriel.
It went up in the low 30's today.
It was time to breakout the sprinkler.
Gabriel is a real "Redneck" with his revolver and a can of beer.
I finally got all the waxing done on the motorhome. With
the temperature in the low 30', we had to cool off best we could...
A little boy and puddles...
Jeremy after work.
Gabriel was a very busy little boy.
This is a very shiny motorhome...
A little TV before bedtime.
We had to look at the photos that were taken today.
It is supposed to stay hot for the rest of the week.
Wednesday August 26, 2015
Once again, get ready for many photos of Gabriel...
I was busy looking at the local news.
Gabriel was having fun.
Hummmm!
While Gabriel was taking his nap. I crawled under the whole motorhome
just to have a look. Nothing was out of place.
The front disk brakes have ram air cooling like racing cars!
Grand-maman and Gabriel had fun with the camera...
Some street art!
Thursday August 27, 2015
Once again, lot of photos of Gabriel...
We know our family and Danielle's family love it when they see lots of
photos of Gabriel.
Why so many empty pop cases?
I took all the empties from Jeremy and returned them. The boxes
will be going to recycling after Gabriel has some fun with them.
A water gunfight in the driveway
This is a nice gunslinger move.
Where are you?
After Gabriel's nap, it was time for some pool time.
The beach boy look?
It was my turn to cool off in the pool.
I had put hot water in the pool when I filled it up. Gabriel
stayed a long time in the pool.
Jeremy and I went to visit John and both of them went FPV flying with
quadcopters.
They look so "geeky".
Jeremy is trying a new antenna.
Another great day. It was funny to hear the weatherman on the
radio when he said, "the forecast is +25°C with smoke".
We were in smoke all day because of the forest fire in Washington State.
Friday August 28, 2015
Today was the third day we had smoke in the air and we had a lot of
smoke today.
The thermometer was showing +27°C.
Nothing like a candy ring for Gabriel and I!
Ahhhhh!
Some dancing moves!
A selfie and a close up of Gabriel.
A gift from Manon and Patrice!
Lots and lots of little cars. Gabriel had to make a long line of
cars.
Once again, after a good nap, pool time!
Daddy finished work.
Running around to get circle of water mark on the pavement.
So much fun!
Grand-papa in the pool again!
Gabriel had to get more food into him to continue playing.
A simple fly swatter can be a lot of fun for a kid.
The weekend is starting up, Gabriel sleeps in the motorhome with
Grand-maman.
A glow stick, shadows on the wall, a good scare, a freezes and a
Grand-maman equal a very happy boy.
I know I say it all the time, but a great day it was!
Saturday August 29, 2015
There was even more smoke in the air today. This was not good for
breathing.
We spent most of the day inside. It was +32°C this afternoon.
Gabriel was full of energy today.
One more night in the motorhome with Grand-maman.
It was +30°C at 7 pm in the motorhome. Not enough electricity to
run the AC.
A few hours later, they went to the bedroom to finish the evening.
The smoke was very thick and it bothers us today.
Sunday August 30, 2015
We woke up to rain.
Jeremy, Gabriel and I decided to go for a coffee at McDonald.
Gabriel was having a lot of fun in the play area.
After the McDonald, Jeremy stopped at Staples to buy a computer chair.
Gabriel was helping his Daddy.
A little craziness on the couch.
Grand-maman was stuck in the box.
Gabriel worked very hard to get Grand-maman out of the box.
Gabriel's turn to get stuck in the box.
Grand-maman has to work hard to get Gabriel out of the box.
The sun finally showed up at the end of the afternoon.
We went to Crescent Park to feed the ducks.
The ducks were not very hungry.
Gabriel with a blue tongue.
We had a very good diner with T-Bones.
Monday August 31, 2015
Jeremy is back to work this morning.
Gabriel is keeping us occupied. I was not feeling to well this
morning!
I did not know if it was my allergies kicking up or just a bug going by
in me!
Michele and Gabriel are in top shape.
They even decided to make a cake. We were not sure, but we think
it was his first time making a cake.
Gabriel mixed all the ingredients in the bowl and steered it all up.
Grand-maman had to help him pour the cake mixture in the cake pan.
Gabriel had to see what was in the hole in the middle of the cake pan!
This was the first time we saw a child not liking cake dough!
He does not have a sweet tooth I guess.
The masterpiece!
Gabriel got a mosquito bite and he needed some calamine to help the
hitch.
We even had the choice of icing.
It was a busy day for Gabriel.
After a good bath, some playing, it was time for bed.
With Gabriel in bed, now the adults can relax.
Towards the end of the day, I started to feel better.
