We had rain all night. This is good for the well of the house.
We did not do much today. I filled the freshwater tank with water from the house this time.

We are invited for dinner at Jannie and Jan's house. Millie and Dean will be there also.

We are having a drink before dinner.

Millie and Dean are good people.

This photo is not focused because Jannie is very mad at me!
She has been trying to text me yesterday and today, but somehow her number got blocked on my phone.
I apologized profusely, Jannie still gave me "the look."

We had a good meal and good times with our friends. Who knows when will be the next time we can do this...

When the sun rises in the morning, it illuminates the trees at the end of the yard. It makes then glow.

We saw some nasty and dark clouds throughout the day.

Today I was helping Jan and Patricia again. This time around, it was for moving and stacking firewood.

We went to Belleville to pick-up my new (to me) computer. Michele went to Value Village and bought herself a winter coat.

Saturday, October 3, 2020

This morning, I spent time moving, installing and copying stuff from my laptop to the desktop. I have to become  more familiar with Windows 10. Not fun. The computer is an HP Compaq Pro 4300. I paid only $165 for it. I will be busy for a while.

Using Win 7 and now using Win 10 is not that easy, but hey, I have to do it...

Some wild turkeys went by the MH this morning.

This is the setup I have to work on both computers.

We went to pick up a coffee table near Belleville. The person was supposed to be there. Nobody home!!! Darn, no message or anything to tell us anything. Why do people do that?
So we came back home by the back roads. The stuff you see!

Michele's having fun!

A photo of our beautiful grand-daughter, Natasha.

I am helping Jan, Patricia and Kylea at the campground.
We are cutting and stacking wood in the woodshed.

This is the second morning I am helping them. The shed is almost full.

Jan is on the wood-splitter with the tractor. I drive the two kubotas between the wood splitter and the shed. Patricia and Kylea are at the shed stacking wood. Real teamwork.

In the afternoon, we move boats in the clubhouse for the winter. It looks like we use a lot of equipment to do it!

It is a real puzzle to get as many boats  as possible, plus the two race cars in the clubhouse.

We had a busy day.

Tuesday, October 6, 2020

I spent most of the day working on my next update for the blog.
Before supper, I saw Jan cleaning his side-by-side.

I had to go and make sure things were done right!

Today is a weird day weather-wise! Hardly any wind early this morning, later, the wind picked up, it rained, the sun came out, then more rain, repeat... Next, it was the severe thunderstorm watch. It did not happen.

Michele did some laundry today.

Because of the cloudy skies we have, it makes for beautiful sunsets.

I took my laptop to the repairman today. It is slowing down a lot. I either have a virus or a program is stuck in a loop somehow.
I should know more in a few days.

Thursday, October 8, 2020

We are on our way to the small town of Cobourg.  Michele wants to check out the Thrift Stores before confinement takes place in Ontario, maybe. I forgot to take photos of the stores Michele went in. Some of the trees along our way this morning.

I saw Jan this afternoon. I will be working tomorrow morning. Jan and a group of volunteers will be taking the docks out of the water for the winter.

Friday, October 9, 2020

Kristin sent us this photo of Natasha. It is amassing how fast she is changing.
From a round baby face to a more defined features face.

One more nice sunset.

Saturday, October 10, 2020

I am helping with the removal of the docks this morning.
Here are some of the steps that are taking place this morning.
The docks are unpinned. A person floats/guide/push them to the boat ramp.
Can you see the two docks way in the back?

Next, Jan picks up the dock with his tractor.

He moves them to the location where they will stay for the winter. My job is to put blocks between the docks as they are piled one on top of the other.

Jan, Jannie and Patricia really look after the volunteers. At coffee break, they have coffee and cookies made from a locale bakery.

We are almost done!

In a little less than three hours, including the break, we are done.

It is not hard work, but everyone's job is essential,  so it can be done quickly and safely.

We spend the afternoon reading and surfing the net.

Brrrr! Another night at 1° C.
Michele got up earlier to watch the tennis men's finals from France.

Michele loves watching tennis. Me? Nope. So I continue updating the blog.

I also take the time to cook my breakfast sausages.

Michele and I went for a walk after lunch. We are breaking-in our new boots. It was a short walk of 1 km.
If you remember last spring, I would have my feet in the water right now.

This rock was barely pocking above water last spring.

By the end of the afternoon, the sun was shining. We joined Jannie and Jan on the patio for a beer.

Monday, October 12, 2020

On this Thanksgiving Monday, it is an ordinary day for us, a must because of the COVID-19.

At this time of year, we mostly stay indoors as the weather turns colder. I would look at our itinerary for our trip south. Not happening this winter. We were supposed to go to Yuma for the winter. So we found a house to live in for the winter. The MH will be close by and winterized. No, we are not hanging up the keys yet, just for this winter. We will see what next spring brings to us. About our winter in Canada, a first since 2010. We are making this winter an adventure. Of course, we probably will have less "things" to write about in the blog. Updates may be less frequent.

Like today, seeing deers close by was the attraction.

Tuesday, October 13, 2020

Today I am busy helping Patricia, Jan and Kylea, finish splitting/stacking firewood.
The woodshed is now full, more than full.

Wednesday, October 14, 2020

We have another busy day.
We are moving from Jannie and Jan's house to the RV Park. This is where the MH will spend the winter.

We are still living in the MH for a few more days. This is the house we will be moving into.

We had an appointment at the bank this afternoon. With this appointment over, we stopped at the computer shop to pick up my laptop.

Here is what is the problem with my laptop, it is slowly dying. Does it have the COVID-19, of course not!
Over the next few weeks, I will move everything I can from the laptop to the desktop computer.

Thursday, October 15, 2020

Usually, by now, I would have done all the oil changes, the MH, the car and the generator at Patrice and Manon's place in Quebec. Not this time!
With the COVID-19 cases still increasing in Quebec, we are not going there. Maybe in spring?
The MH and the generator can wait until spring. The car really needs it. I made an appointment at Workman's to change the oil and change the tires. I left the car at the garage early in the morning. I will pick it up at lunchtime.

I got the car back. Here are the winter tires on the car. If you notice, they are not all the same tread pattern.

But they are close enough. let's not forget, we will not travel very far this winter. They only need to last one winter.
So, used tires like these ones will do.

The rain started to come down right after lunch and did not stop until late in the night.

Until next time.

Life is good...
