Happy New Year 2020!
We woke up to rain on new years day!

And it is still on the cool side.

This kind of weather calls for a nap in the afternoon.

A group of French-Canadian organized a New Years supper at the small clubhouse.
We took turns introducing ourselves. There are many new people in the Park.

One of the tables with Michele at the end.

Another view of the room.

We meet really nice people.
It is time for some New Years nutty songs.

We had a lot of fun tonight.

Thursday, January 2, 2020

It is warming up today, but still cloudy skies.

A photo of our grandson in Saskatchewan ice fishing.

With all the clouds we have, at least we have a nice sunset.

It is petanque tonight.
Andre is explaining some of the information about the Senior Olympics of the Rio Grande Valley. Michele will be participating in petanque.

Game on!

A nice evening !

Friday, January 3, 2020

We are out for our Friday morning walk at the Mercadome flea market.
You can find almost any kind of clothing in this flea market. Pretty cheap too, $1 per item.

Michele is starting to get a sore throat. She sleeps a lot.
I take that time to repaint the petanque balls.

The sun is out, but the wind still has a bite to it. No pool for Michele or I.

Gabriel will not be at his dad's place for very long. So today we skyped with Jeremy, Kristin and Gabriel.

Kristin cannot wait to give birth. Gabriel is just happy to be with them and Jeremy to be with his family.

Saturday, January 4, 2020

the sun is shinning today and we went to the pool.

After the pool, we were sitting outside when our neighbors came for a chat. Really nice people.

Sunday, January 5, 2020

I am helping one of our neighbor with the installation of a beam on his carport.

There was three of us and it was installed pretty fast.

I went biking a few times around the RV Park. We spent a large part of the afternoon at the pool.
Michele is playing petanque tonight, but not me.

Monday, January 6, 2020

Michele treats me to a good meal at Lin's after she came back from shopping the thrift shoppes.

As usual, good food.

It is with a full belly that we stop at Walmart for a few purchases.

We went to the pool in the afternoon and to Bingo in the evening.

We had a lot of fun in the pool, but no winnings at bingo.

Tuesday, January 7, 2020

Brrr ! The sun is out, but it is not warming up much.
A poinsettia in bloom.

The wind is from the north and cold, no pool for us today.

Michele did some laundry and I played on the computer.

We received some news from Manon and Patrice. They left Montreal this morning to come and join us for a few months.

Wednesday, January 8, 2020

Another cloudy day with high winds. The temperature is 22° C.
This is also where Manon and Patrice will be parked.

We still went for our walk in the flea market next to the Park.

When we got back home, we stopped a the Pickel Ball court to watch them play.

It is an interesting game, maybe we will try it sometime.

News from Manon and Patrice. They are in Little Rock, AK.
They still have another 30 hours of driving to get here.

Thursday, January 9, 2020

Patrice and Manon are arriving today.

By 2 pm, they should be here. I am waiting at the entrance to guide them.

They made it!

Let me tell you. We sure talked a lot.
Their site next to us.

After a good supper, we let them get settled. We went to play petanque.

On the weather side, a nice 28° C, but the wind was blowing pretty hard all day. Tomorrow it will be even windier. Winds of 50 km/h with gusts of over 65 km/h.

Friday, January 10, 2020

Patrice had to wash his truck and he did an OK job!!!

We went to get Patrice and Manon registered at the RV Park office this morning. What a mistake!
Today being the 10th, it is electricity bill. Tonnes of people in the office. We talked to the manager for the registration and it was a mistake. We dealt with Dora before. She knew the whole story with Patrice and Manon, not the manager. After a while, we said "how about we come back Monday afternoon when things settle a bit." They said "great." We will make sure we talked to Dora.

After this adventure, we went to Walmart with Manon and Patrice. After lunch, a good beer while waiting for the time to go to the pool. Our neighbor came over to chat, not a good time, but we were nice and did talk for a while. After the beer was done, I said "It is time for the pool for me and Michele." He left, he is a nice person, but he has no friends and stays around too long.

Michele and I went to the pool for over an hour. Manon and Patrice stayed home to continue unpacking.

After the pool, we stopped by Manon and Patrice for some more catching up.

We have no TV tonight. The wind knocked off our satellite a little. I am not going on the roof with the wind still blowing pretty strongly.

Temperature, +28° C, wind very strong, not pleasant.

Saturday, January 11, 2020

I have a few things to do on the roof of the MH. No leaks, just to re-adjust the satellite dish because the high wind knocked it off target.
I also added some foam wedge under the vent covers to keep them from making noise when the wind is blowing.

Manon and Patrice's site.

Patrice got his first flat tire on his bike.

We played cards for a while and the men won.

Manon and Patrice are slowly getting organized.

Sunday, January 12, 2020

Manon with Flick.

Patrice works on a project. Supports for his sewer hose.

The finished project. The supports are holding the rain gutter which holds the sewer hose.

Michele made us a nice dessert.

It is Sunday evening and Michele plays petanque.

She had a lot of fun as for myself, I stayed home.

We are very happy to have Manon and Patrice with us for the next few months.

Monday, January 13, 2020

Starting another week already! Time flies this winter.
Another photo of the entrance of Bit-O-Heaven.

We spent some time in the pool with friends. Yes, Michele and I are in the pool!

Here we are!

Supper at Manon and Patrice with some very good burgers.

A good start for the week.

Tuesday, January 14, 2020

I forgot! Yesterday Patrice and I worked on the petanque court. The idea is to make the ground harder.
We worked on all 5 courts.
Today we are watering the ground, rolling a heavy roller to compact it.

What we did yesterday was making sure the ground was level.

Tapping and rolling was the order of the day.

Michele is supervising!

We had a quiet evening at home. Today was hot and muggy.

Wednesday, January 15, 2020

Out for Wednesday walk in the flea market next door to the RV Park.
Patrice is with us and Manon stayed home with her dog.
Lots of cowboy boots.

Patrice's tv is not working very well, everything is green.
We are testing it at our place to make sure it is the TV and not the cable.
It is the TV.

We went shopping at the local Costco and had lunch there.

Even Flick is with us, but Patrice had to stay in the truck with him. In my opinion having a dog is putting a stop on many of the things you want to do. We had to have our lunch at the truck to be together!

Michele bought a lamb roast a few weeks ago.
Today is the day we eat it. We are using a recipe from Louise and André.
It was very good.

Until next time.

Life is good...
