Sunday. November 1, 2020

An "Alberta Clipper" has gone through the area last night. We had winds up to 70 km/h with rain.

Another relaxing day.

Monday, November 2, 2020

We placed family photos on the wall to make it homey.

Today I got my first chiro appointment. My left-hand leg and lower back is hurting badly. It all went well with the chiro. We will see how I feel tomorrow.

Our next stop is at Steve Sweet RV to buy some sealant for the roof of the MH.

I will use the sealant only when it warms up.

Change of plan for the photos!
From this wall to...

...to these walls.

Our Benoit on one photo. Our other son with Kristin, Gabriel and Natasha.

It is election day in the United States. Will Mr Trump stay or go?
The whole planet is waiting.

Let's say my back and leg are not much better. It is actually more painful this morning. I still went for a short walk.
The swans are staying here in the winter.

The photo on the left is right now, while the one on the right is from spring 2019. The water level was unbelievably high.

We are getting our vaccine shot today. It went pretty fast, we entered, no waiting. We went right away to the nurse, the vaccine, a short waiting time of 5 minutes after the shot and we left. We were there maybe 10-15 minutes.

We are having a small house warming party today. Our friends Jannie, Patricia and Jan are here with us. Do not worry, they are part of our "bubble".

As usual, a nice photo followed by the crazy one.

A toast to our friends.

After the meal, we played Wii Bowling. Patricia.

Jannie.

And Jan.

We had a great time with friends.

Here we are, driving north to Marmora. But first, when we are at Jeremy and Kristin's place in Moose Jaw, we cannot use our MH A/C. Why? Because the MH is plugged in a 15 amps plug. So no AC when it is hot outside. We are buying a small, portable A/C unit so when we are at our sun's place, we can plug the portable A/C in a different plug and stay cool in the MH without tripping a circuit breaker.
You will see all that next summer when we go to Moose Jaw.
As you can see, almost all the leaves are gone.

It is bigger than I expected.

It is very clean, with no scratches. It works very well. It only cost us $40. This is why we bought it. W cannot wait to use it next summer. It is because we will be in Moose Jaw.

Natasha is at her grandparents John and Terry. Natasha is one happy little girl.

We had a good day.

My back and leg still hurts. My next appointment is Monday morning. I can't wait.
No photos of today.

Saturday, November 7, 2020

The temperatures are warming up. A very nice +15° C today.
I inflated the MH tires to their maximum pressure for the winter. Or at max pressure, my little compressor can go up to, about 105 psi.
I also checked my roof on the MH and applied sealant where needed.

I sprayed the tow bar on the MH. I used the product from Krown Rust protection.
This way, it will not rust this winter.

After lunch, I helped Jan moving some topsoil from the small ditch he is digging.

We finally know who is the next President of the United States, Mr. Joe Biden. And for the first time in US history, a female, colored Vice-President, Kamala Harris. Bravo! The whole world let their breath out. The stupidity is over.

My back and leg pain is worst, but ow it is on the right side! Just bearable. Pills and Rub-A535 are uses. I do not move much for the rest of the day. It has nothing to do with helping Jan today.

A quiet day at home. My back and leg still hurts like hell.

Monday, November 9, 2020

I had a terrible night. I had to crawl on all four to make it to the bathroom last night.
We are at the Trenton Hospital by 8 o'clock.

Only one person at triage in the emergency room. Great!

But! When we arrived in the waiting room, we are not the only one. Still, only a few people in front of us.
Then, it all changed. Two ambulances arrive and take priority, normal after all!
It took a long time before they started to see people from the waiting room. I finally got a shot with muscle relaxant in my back as I am waiting for the doctor. The doctor came a little later. He gave me a prescription for muscle relaxant and pain medication. He also prescribed visits to the physiotherapist and for some massages. We came out of the hospital at 1 o'clock. Taking this long is unusual for this hospital.

Next stop, to the No Frills and the pharmacy to get my prescriptions filled.

When we got back home, I took the pills and went for a nap.

When I woke up, I felt a little better. It is going to take time...

Jeremy and Kristin are in a snowstorm in Moose Jaw.
Natasha is mesmerized by the snow.

Her first baby sleigh ride. She is wearing goggles to protect her from the cold wind.
Thank you Kristin and Jeremy for the photos you keep sending us. We love it.

I did not move much today.
I forgot to say, my back problem is caused by the sciatic nerve in my right leg.

Tuesday, November 10, 2020

The pain level has dropped. Not perfect, but better.
It is a beautiful day outside, but with my pain, I stay indoors and move very little.
Michele reading in the sunroom. It is warm in the sunroom with the sun.

One of the seasonal in the RV Park is not taking everything from his garden. He told us we could go and get whatever we wanted in the garden. Michele went and got some carrots.

Our Natasha! She even wears a poppy for Remembrance Day.

It was a relaxed day for us.

Wednesday, November 11, 2020

I felt much better today. The pain decreased during the day. Good!

In the afternoon, we skyped with Benoit for a while.

The weather is not as good today. It is still warm at +14° C and this time of year, nice.

A year ago, on this day, we were in Texas. This is the RV park we were in. Arrow #1 is where we were. Arrow #2 the main entrance to the RV Park. Arrow #3, this is the Mexican flea market.

We received a photo of Gabriel from Jeremy. Gabriel is the goalie.

Today is Remembrance Day. Please don't forget to say "Thank You" to a veteran.

Thursday, November 12, 2020

I am still getting better, but I can't stand for too long.
I still made supper.

Notice the "lump" on the front lawn. It is because of the septic field. It is not quite finished. The landscaping needs to be done.

Friday, November 13, 2020

I have an appointment with the chiropractor this morning. I came out feeling better.

A landscaping company is here to finish the landscaping on the septic field this morning.

The "Bobcat" operator is good.

Even if today this was Friday the 13th, it was uneventful.

Today is also the last day I have medication for my back and leg pain. I feel better.

Saturday, November 14, 2020

We received our new PVR from Shaw a few days ago.

We are installing it in the MH. Why the MH? Because we already have satellite TV in the house from, but it is from Bell.
We will put our Shaw account in seasonal break until we move back in in the spring.

Jannie and Jan invited us for a cocktail and homemade pizza.
The pizza being prepared.

Ready to cook!

A very good homemade pizza with good friends. Life is good.

The nice weather will come to an end tonight. Tomorrow we have rain and strong wind in the forecast.

Sunday, November 15, 2020

We are under a strong wind warning this evening and tonight.
The weather at 11 am.

Five hours later, the rain is still coming down. The wind is much stronger.

Five minutes later, a very strong gust of wind came into the area. We lost electricity!
We go in the sunroom and check the MH. This is what we saw.
A tree fell but did not come close to the MH. Just look at the MH. It is leaning because of the wind.

As for the electricity, we have a back-up generator. I moved it outside the garage, plug it in, start the generator. We have power, limited power, but power nonetheless. We will be warm regardless.

The wind got stronger and by 8 pm...

This is a map from Hydro One with the extent of the power outage.
Each circle has a number that indicates how many outages in that area. The arrow is us!

A closer view of our area. We know for a fact that a few telephone poles are down and need replacing.

The latest update on getting power back is for 6 pm tomorrow.
I guess the generator will be running all night long.

Until next time.

Life is good...
