I went with Manon and Patrice shopping for a new TV.
Michele stayed home with Flick. Flick was very good.

Superman's car?

They did not find the right TV.

Petanque this evening. I am disappointed with the results of the work we did. The courts are still too soft.
We still had a lot of fun.

Friday, January 17, 2020

Today is shopping day for the boys only!
Patrice and I stopped at Jack in the Box for breakfast.

What a breakfast sandwich! Two eggs, cheeses, bacon and sausages on toast.
Very good and filling. I will probably skip lunch!

Our destination, Harbor Freight Tools.

After spending money at Harbor Freight tolls, we went to Best Buy to check out the TVs.

Patrice bought a 32-inch TV for a very good price.

Saturday, January 18, 2020

One of our neighbor, an older gentleman, had to go to the hospital this morning. It is sad because he just lost his last brother two days ago. We hope he will pull through.

It is Basketball Night for us and Manon.
Patrice stayed home with Flick. Why? Because the dog barks when left alone. I know some solution exist, but...

The last time we came, we received some "bubble head". This time we got a blanket.

A tailgate party was supposed to take place in the parking lot, but with the possible rain and thunderstorm coming, it was canceled.
We had pizza from "Il Forno". The pizza was not just for me!!!

First time we see this.
The water comes from the center and the "wings" are for drying your hands. Who makes this? Dyson of course.

We had free samples of frozen dill pickles in some kind of liquid. It was super salty!
I have a frozen margarita and laugh at them with the dill pickles.

Cirque du Soleil commentators.

It is a go with the national anthem!

The girls are ready.

During the short breaks, we have entertainment.
Jr. Snake Charmers.

Dribblers!

We did not win the 50/50.

The Vipers are not very good tonight, but we keep hoping!

Come on! Play!

The final score, 125 for the Texas Legends and 99 for the Vipers.

We still had a very nice evening. Manon really enjoyed her first time at semi-professional Basketball.

A cold front is arriving tonight and we should see some rain and thunderstorm.

Sunday, January 19, 2020

Brrr! This is cold after the nice 28° C we just had.

Today we are back at Harbor Freight Tools because Patrice forgot some tools.
This is my purchases.

Now the bill. The prices are very good. The head lamp was free, the wire stripper only $2.99 and the scissors were only $0.69.

We have some very good news today.
Kristin had her baby this afternoon.
This is Natasha Matte.

The proud parents.

So sweet.

We will have more info when we will skype with them in the next few days.

Monday, January 20, 2020

Our friends Jannie and Jan are in Quartzsite, AZ, for their annual Entegra Rally.
They were close to 50 RV for this year rally. On this photo, you can see the boondocking site in La Posa South.
You park anywhere and you have so services. This is only a small portion of the possibilities for boondocking around Quartzsite.

We skyped with Kristin, Jeremy and Natasha.

Supper is at Manon and Patrice today. We are having a nice beef stew.

Bingo night! Manon is with us this time.

Only Michele won some money, a whole $10.

Tuesday, January 21, 2020

More photos of our grand-daughter Natasha. They are back home which means Kristin and Natasha are doing very good.

Rules for transporting stuff on the roads are very different in Texas than Canada!
No warning, flashing lights! The trailer will be going down the road just like that.

RGV Upholstery are coming to pick up our seats to re-upholster. The original material is flacking.

They only speak Spanish, but they are Americans.

I think they had forgotten us. When I called them to find out at what time they were coming, they were surprised!
They were supposed to be here in the morning, but they arrived at 16:45! Oh well!

With no seats, it sure gives you a lot of space.

For the next few days I will have to work on the table.

Wednesday, January 22, 2020

Our Wednesday walk in the flea market. This time with Manon and Patrice.

After the flea market, Patrice and I went to the local Firestone dealer, so Patrice could buy tires for his truck. They are not installed yet as Patrice has to change some studs on one wheel.

I stopped at the bank to get some money to pay for the RV seat being re-upholstered.

And Patrice when to Walmart to get a new tube for his bike.

Patrice and I work on the petanque courts.
This time we remove some of the sand as it is too thick in places. We will see if the players with like it better this evening.

After all that hard work, time for a beer at Manon and Patrice's place.
What a dog's life!

Thursday, January 23, 2020

Patrice is changing the tube, but is leaving the old one inside to create a thickness so the sand burs do reach the good tube.

The tough life of a baby!

We spent some time in the pool and after, Manon had prepared a nice snack for us. Thank you Manon!

It is petanque night!
Michele is having fun with the camera!

We had 32 players this evening.

They enjoyed the courts a lot more now.

We had a nice evening.

Friday, January 24, 2020

It is at the Alamo restaurant that Patrice and I are having our breakfast.
I was telling Patrice that the service was fast and the food good.
But not today!
The server got our order really fast and we waited for our coffee for a long time. The restaurant is busy, but not out of the ordinary. Two persons who got here at the same time as us got served, but not us. Two other persons who got here well after us got served!!! That is enough, I said to Patrice "let's go, we are leaving." Patrice finds this funny!

We cross the highway and stopped at the restaurant El Dorado. All went well.

After breakfast, we drove around to have a look. We even went as far as the Mexican border just to show it to Patrice.
As we were driving, we saw this big blue pipe along a field.

It is made of thick plastic with holes in it to irrigate the fields.

Natasha with her eyes open.

In the afternoon, the Park is hosting RC races. We stopped by to watch them for a while.

Today the sky was cloudy and the wind a little on the cool side. We will skip the pool today.

Saturday, January 25, 2020

The weather forecast for today is rain! But! Depending on which app I am using it could be in the morning or noon or 2 pm and 5 pm! What really happen? Lots of clouds and 25 drops of water.

We have tickets for the play "Into The Woods". Manon is with us.

It is about to start.

This play is done by a High School. The set is very good, the amphitheater is great. The sound? With our tinnitus, hard to tell.
All three of us had a hard time at times to understand the words they were singing. It probably was because of the accent some of the students had.

Bravo to the Nikki Rowe High School for this very good play. It only cost $14 per ticket.
This is the whole cast and technicians involved in the play.

Manon had coupons from Burger King for 3 Woopers, 3 cheese burgers and 3 fries for only $14. It was a good supper.

Sunday, January 26, 2020

We are off to the Mercadome to walk the indoor flea market. We are with Manon.

For lunch, Michele had a funnel Cake.

Manon and I had a Spiropapas. It is a potato cut in spiral and fried with on a stick. It was good.

Another photo of Natasha, she sure has a hard life!

Michele is playing petanque this evening. Not me.

Monday, January 27, 2020

Patrice received the wheel studs for his truck. As soon as the people hear noise from tools, they come over to check it out. Therry and I are watching Patrice.

The wheel is removed.

Patrice has removed the damaged studs and is now installing the new on.

It is almost done.

Supper is at our place tonight. We are having the chicken recipe from Suzie.

A good day!

Tuesday, January 28, 2020

Today is the start of the Golden Age Olympics of McAllen.

The medals are very nice.

The Petanque games are played at Pleasant Valley RV Resort in Mission.
Bit-O-Heaven (BOH) has four teams in the games.
Michele is with Andre, the captain and Louise.
Michele gets ready to throw the ball.

Jean is in another team from BOH.

Stephanie is the captain of that team.

And Lucille.

I notice this transformer on the pole. It is burnt. I guess they leave it there until it falls?

This Park has a very large kitchen area and they prepared the lunch time meal. Michele chose the turkey Sunday.

Another team is made up of Michel, the captain.

Marthe and Danielle.

All the team of BOH lost their first game. So all the team are back to play the next day, in division B for bronze medal.

Wednesday, January 29, 2020

Michele is back at the games to play. I stayed home.

RGV Upholstery has tried to contact me for the delivery of our seats. I must have missed it. Yesterday we made contact. They will deliver the seats this morning at 9 am.

With Hispanic people, time is an approximation. They finally arrived at 10 am, not bad.

They are installing the seats.

They did a really nice job ob our seats. The quality is much better then the original.

I can now place all our stuff back behind the seats. It looks messy!

Michele's team, Louise, Andre and  Michèle. They had a lot of fun.

Jean gets ready to throw the ball.

Stephanie.

Danielle and Marthe.

Michel.

The end results for today, Michele's team has been eliminated just like Kip and Stephan's. They all played well, but...
Michel, Marthe and Danielle won and they will play next Tuesday for the bronze medal.
From the left, Stephanie, Gérard and Marthe.

Marthe and Lucille.

From the left, Jean, Andre and Louise.

Again, Michel, Rene, Kip and Jean.

Pretty couple!

Sharron, Danielle, Stephanie wife, Claude and Francine.

Thank you Stephanie for the invitation.

After the 5 to 7, we skyped with Benoit. It was good to see him again.

Benoit did mention that we did not have any photo of us doing a tequila shooter for his birthday on January 2nd.
This one is for you Benoit. HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

A good day. As far as the weather today, on the cool side (20° C.) and windy.

Thursday, January 30, 2020

A day without photos!
It happens. Cool day (19° C) cloudy with north wind.
I stayed home and Michele did some grocery shopping.

Today we learned that Natasha ended up in the hospital for two nights. She had stopped breathing at home, but restarted breathing again. They brought her to the hospital for a check up. More info in the next few days.

Usually, we go to petanque on Thursday evening, but not tonight.

Friday, January 31, 2020

It is not the best weather to go to the beach, but we are still going to the Kite Festival in South Padre Island (SPI).
First stop is at McDonald for breakfast.

We are about one hour and twenty minutes away from SPI.
After about 60 km, we got on SR-100.
While we were going through Los Fresnos, we saw this minivan!!!

Almost there, we are going over the Laguna Madre and SPI is what we see in the distance.

The wind is from the north @ 20 km/h, the temperature is only 16° C.

A quick stop at the chamber of commerce to pick up some coupons for a cheap meal for lunch.
Some sand castle.

Flick's nose is busy with all the new odors.

First stop will be the Kite Festival.
A beach store.

Since we are before lunch, the competition have not started.
Many large kites are anchored in the ground.

The octopus is very large and so are some of the others ones.

These kites are practicing flying acrobatics.

With the humidity very high, it got cold.

We left after 20 minutes.
We are parked on the beach at low tide.

After the kites, we went to the end of SR-100. Sand is coming over the road.

After we had turned around, we stopped and went on the beach.
Manon, Patrice and Flick.

We were sure Flick would have gone in the water, but no.

His nose is so busy with new odors.

We are all by ourselves on this part of the beach.

Nice couple.

After a while, we drove down the beach with the truck. The pelicans only flew when we got really close.

Patrice is ready for lunch!

We are having lunch at Padre Island Brewing Co.

They always have five type beers on tap.

We are having a light beer with lunch. We had coupons for Beer Battered Fish & Chips at only $12.99 for two people.

No photo of Michele!

We also went for a walk on Pier 19 to check out if anybody is fishing.

Our new friends.

No fisherman, but a mermaid?

Got to have pelicans.

On our way back, we stopped at a local souvenir store.
This one has a dinosaurs theme.
An alligator with antlers?

What en entrance! I am strong.

We skyped with Kristin, Jeremy and Natasha.
Natasha went in the hospital because she had stopped breathing, but started breathing again. The doctors did testes and found nothing.

It was scary, but over now.

Until next time.

Life is good...
