North Shore RV Park is now open. Not for us as we are overnighters and not seasonal campers. We understand.
Seasonal campers are super happy.

Sunday, May 17, 2020

My walk was a little longer today, a nice and somewhat warm 5.4 km.

The Murray Canal joins Lake Ontario, on the left and the Bay of Quinte, on the right.

As we can see, the water level of Lake Ontario remains stable.

I had to add some extra holes on my belt to allow me to tighten it a little more. I am shrinking at the waist?

Jan, Jannie and Patricia told us the seasonal campers were mostly obeying the distancing rules in the RV Park.

A quiet day at home.
Some photos of Natasha and Jeremy.

Natasha is one happy little girl.

Thanks to Jeremy and Kristin for sending photos every day.

Tuesday, May 19, 2020

Another walk for me, this time toward the Murray Canal. The sun is out and the grass snakes are out sunning themselves. I saw 2 or 3 of them.

Once again, we can see the water level is pretty stable.

A few weeks ago, I dropped my cell phone and cracked the screen.
I contacted a repair store for a cell phone and they told me to bring the phone in to see for himself.
Here we are at the repair store. After they looked at the phone and check the availability of a screen, I was told it would cost $250 for the screen plus labour. Since my phone still works fine, I will keep it the way it is.

Natasha is 4 months old today.
She has changed so much in such a short time.

We cannot wait to see her in person and hold her in ours harms.

The warm weather is with us now.
I started to wash the MH. I do the roof to start. I had not washed it since last November when we were in Texas.
I was down on all four with a brush to clean it. Three hours later I was done with the roof. What a big job. The roof is very clean now.

After lunch, I continued to wash the MH. I only did the left side and the front.

I did not wash the right-hand side because it was in the sun. You can see the left side all done and shiny. I should be waxing some time next week. Michele is washing the rags I was using.

A good day.

Thursday, May 21, 2020

It was cloudy this morning. I took that time to wash the right side of the MH.
The sun came out by noon, but I was done by then.

The car got washed too.

Since I am in soapy water, I wash the rock-guard for the car. It was so dirty. I also washed the wooden planks I use to level the MH.

A good day working.

A wild turkey "Tom"  is making sure everyone knows he is the "dude' in this area. He is protecting his harem of ladies turkeys.

Today was another working day. Michele and I did a clean-up of the basement of the MH. Some stuff will go to garbage, some to recycling and some will end up for sale. We also did an inventory of the basement.

During the afternoon, I went and gave a hand to Jan at the park.

After I came back, we finished the basement clean up.
We are having hamburgers for supper.

Hello Kristin and Natasha! Natasha makes a funny face. Is she teething?

My legs hurt. It must be from going up and down the ladder for the last two days.

Saturday, May 23, 2020

I only have one last thing to do for the basement. It was to place a small shelf on the door where all the power cords are.

An easy day at home. The weather is really warm and muggy.
Natasha!

A nice photo of Natasha being really mad...

After all that crying, time for a good nap.

Jan asked if I could help them move a deck this morning? Sure!
It is about 30 X 12 feet. The idea is to move the whole deck in one piece.
On one end, the tractor, on the other the excavator. Ready to move the deck.

Once the patio is on the road, we back-up the trailer under the deck.

On our way to the new deck location.

The campground roads are not really wide for such a wide load.

The deck on its, almost, new home, site # 1. We will move the deck to its final place in the next few days.

The deck still needs a few modifications before it is finalized. I really enjoyed moving the deck. It was really hot and muggy today.

Michele is making homemade pizza for supper.

Humm! It looks good.

It is good.

We can only see a tiny sliver of moon tonight.

We did a small grocery today. It was mostly to pick up the ingredients for a curd cheese, meatloaf wrapped in bacon, I will be making.
We saw this recipe on a cooking show on TV.

We had a good day.

Tuesday, May 26, 2020

The hot and muggy weather is still with us.
Since it is a little cooler this morning, I cook my breakfast sausages.
Many types of wild live lives in the area. This time I saw a coyote walk across the lawn. He is on his way to the area where the geese are located. The geese were smarter than him.

I am preparing the curd cheese, meatloaf wrapped in bacon. We invited Jan and Jannie for supper, but with a twist, we will have supper at their place. We do not have room in the MH to make it a nice supper. Thanks, Jannie and Jan.

It is a simple meal, but very good. The meatloaf was a success.

We made quite a lot of meatloaf. We still have a large one left.

You can see the curd cheese in the middle and the bacon wrap on the outside of the meatloaf.

I think I will have to do this recipe again in the future.

Wednesday, May 27, 2020

It had been a long time since I flushed the hot water tank on the MH.
It was not really "dirty". It was all done in less than an hour.

We skyped with Kristin and Jeremy today. They mentioned that Natasha loves eating.

A good day.

Jan asked if I could help to move the deck to its final position today. Sure!
The deck is going to where the arrow points.

First step, make sure the cement stones are all level. He is using a laser level. First time I see it in use. Simple, but effective and fast.

Our first attempt to move the deck was by rolling it in place. With what we had with us, we could not make it go over the cement stones. In comes plan "B". Sorry no photos. Using the tractor on one end and the excavator on the other end, with the use of straps and chains, the deck was lifted and slowly moved in place.

Here it is! They still have to add some ramps and build steps to get to the deck. It will be done over the next few weeks.

This site will become the "Deluxe" site.

With this job over, after lunch, I delivered some soil at one of the seasonal sites.

It looks like rain coming, but it is the fog rolling in.

Natasha just discover her feet.

A very good day and I learned many new things.

Friday, May 29, 2020.

We had some rain throughout the day. A day of reading, internet, going to town to check the mail.
The temperature is cooling off today, but it is still a good day.

Saturday, May 30, 2020

Another easy day and we are OK with this. We had some rain in the morning. Also, this morning my laptop is acting up again. I had the screen changed a few weeks ago. I called the computer shop and after talking to him, I took the laptop back to the shop. He plays around with it for about half-hour to make it happen again and it did. He found the ribbon wire to the screen may have not been put in place as far as it should have been. He put the laptop back together and now it works great. Super. How much? Nothing.

I went to visit my friend Dave, another fulltimer, during the afternoon. We mush have spent 2 hours talking about everything and nothing.

I tackled another small project today. Our TV in the living room has never had a nice picture, always grainy. I know it is the coax cable that is loose somewhere, but where? Probably behind a place I have no access. I decided to go with the easy solution. Use an HDMI cable rather than the coax. It is a temporary solution because my HDMI cable is not quite long enough to hide it.
On the left photo, the old coax cable with a crappy, smaller image. On the right, the HDMI cable and a very nice and full-screen picture.

Here is the temporary solution. The HDMI cable goes from the receiver to the TV in plain view.

Over the next few days/weeks, I will buy a longer HDMI cable and make it run behind moulding and the likes to hide it.

It has been over a week since I went for a walk.
I am out and about this morning. A nice 4 km. This is the washer I use a reference point for the water level of Lake Ontario.
Since we are past the spring peak, I will no longer show that reference point.

A quiet day at home.
Another beautiful photo of Natasha. She looks so unhappy, LOL.

Until next time.

Stay safe & Stay healthy.

Life is good...
