Sunday September 16, 2018

Another hot day coming our way.
I start on some backlog maintenance on the MH.
First is cleaning the K&N air filter.  It is not dirty at all, so I just had a layer of new oil to it.

Next is the batteries of the MH.  I check the water level and add water as needed.  They all needed water.

I have too many dumping hoses.  Patrice takes one and I place the other two in Patrice's garage.

Manon made us some fancy drinks.

Next on the maintenance list, clean the air filter on both air conditioning units.  I also clean the two vents filters.

Michele is back from shopping.  She shows us her new sandals which cost a big $3.

I also get the used engine oil in container so we can take them to the recycling center.
While we were in Saint-Tite, in one of the used MH we saw the remote for the radio velcro next to the radio, what a great idea.
It is done!

It was a busy day catching up on small maintenance that I was putting off for no good reason.

Maybe tomorrow we will be going on the water?

Monday September 17, 2018

No maintenance job today. We are going boating.
Our home at Patrice and Manon's place.

We are boating around the islands of Berthier.  We want to look at all the beautiful houses.

Two happy guys!

Michele seems very serious!

We also boat on  the St-Lawrence river near Sorel and the big ships.  Flick loves being in the boat.

The wind is strong on the river and the waves are big.

We saw many ships anchored  and waiting for a place to be docked.

Life is good.

When we got back home, Flick was tired.  He slept for a few hours.

A good day!

Tuesday September 18, 2018

We are doing another project today.
I want to move the wires for our headphones behind the wall and not have them in front where we can see them.

Here it is, done!  Now, we do not see the wires anymore.

We also placed Patrice's generator in his truck and we disposed of the used engine oil we had.

Manon making some nice food again.

Patrice and Michele relaxing in the living room.

We finally made reservation at a campground in Niagara Falls for the month of October.  For some reason it was harder to find a campground open until the end of October this year.

Another good day.

Wednesday September 19, 2018

We are having a busy morning today.
We are putting some light fixtures in the bathroom and replacing the fan in the ceiling.
This is where two of the four light fixture are going.

Patrice is doing the measuring and I do the drilling.  Pfff!  The dust this is making!

Next, Patrice goes in the attic to route the wires for the light fixtures and start on the bathroom fan.
Here he is working on the fan.

Sure looks nice!

Back to the light fixtures.

We had to modify the light fixtures because they did not fit in the small space.

Michele supervising the workers.  Anything with wires, it is Patrice's job to do.

Putting the finishing touch on the lights.

It looks very nice.  We are pretty happy with our work.

Michele takes over now.  She has a lot of cleaning to do because of the dust we made.

Flick loves corn on the cub and he eats it like a humans.

Kristin sent us some of the photos her father took before we left Moose Jaw.

We had a very good day.
I almost forgot. Happy Birthday Patrice.

Thursday September 20, 2018

One more project this afternoon.
Right now we use an extension cord to bring power to our laptops.
I want to install a regular power outlet near our laptops.
The initial plan was to take power from under the counter, but when we moved the couch out of the way, we found a power outlet behind the couch.  Still too far from the laptops.  We are using the power outlet to bring power to our laptop power outlet.
Patrice is doing all the electrical and I do the rest.

Measuring and the plan comes together.

With the location of the power outlet decided, I can use some plastic staples to anchor the wire in place.

I have to make the hole bigger because we are using a house power outlet versus a RV power outlet.  RV's are not built to building code.

Patrice is very knowledgeable with wiring.

More adjusting.

One last staple.

Patrice does one final check and declare the job completed.

This is the result.  I am very happy with it.

In the afternoon, we head to Montreal to pick up Benoit for the week-end.  He will be with us for three days.

While we were waiting, we went to get a subway for supper.
We liked these building.

When we got back home, we sure talked a lot with Benoit, Catherine, Manon and Patrice.

Friday September 21, 2018

A rainy day.

Myself, Michele and Benoit went to Joliette for some shopping.

We had a nice supper and played cards with Rock, Christine, Manon and Patrice.

Saturday September 22, 2018

A relaxing day at home.
Benoit is having fun with Flick.

Sunday September 23, 2018

The temperature has cooled down over the last few days.
We had a nice campfire in the morning.

Flick is a very nice dog

I still had a bag of crawfish left in the freezer.
I cook them so they could try them.

Patrice did not even try.  Manon and Benoit did try, but Benoit did not like them.  Manon did.
I know that if they were fresh, Manon would love them more.

After lunch, we took Benoit back to his apartment in Montreal.
The good photo.

The crazy photo.

And more...

We really enjoyed having Benoit with us.
We will see him again next week-end when we are in St-Jerome.

Monday September 24, 2018

An easy day in front of us, or so we think.

Today we are up early to say goodbye to Manon, she has to go to work.
Goodbye Manon and Patrice, thank you for everything.  Goodbye Flick.

By 9:30 we are ready to go, but the stabilizing jacks would not retract!  Darn!
What have we touched in the last two weeks?  Or should I say, what have I touch in the last two weeks?
I checked the fuses under the dashboard, all is good.

We have a look under the hood and found two 40 amp. fuses blown.

I drove to Berthierville to buy more of the fuses.  Surprise! I only found two in the whole town!

They are located just above the air filter.

I suddenly remembered that when I put back the fuses box in place, when I added the 12 volts outlet, could it be a wire moved and I did not notice and drove a screw into it?  I check it out and sure enough, a screw did go through a wire.  What happened is the screw went through the wire and into the wood panel in the back, but the screw being long, also touched the metal behind the wood and created the short.
I re-positioned the wire and all is good now.  The jacks retracted no problem.

Remember, we were suppose to leave at around 9:30?  It is 13:30 when we leave.

Patrice waiting to wave us goodbye.

Driving through Berthierville.

We are taking highway 40 east, 640 east and 15 north.
Turkeys by the highway?

We made it without any problems.  Welcome to Lac La fontaine in St-Jérôme, QC.

As soon as we were installed, I sent a text msg to my sisters and they came right away.  They even brought supper with them.

Later in the evening, my brother Rolland and his wife Suzie dropped by.

It is very nice to see my brother and sisters.

Tuesday September 25, 2018

Estelle invited us to join her and Christianne for a conference with the writer Colette Major-McGraw.  Sorry, her books are only in French at this time.  We accepted right away.  We have read her books.

The conference is supposed to last 3 hours.  What is she going to talk about for 3 hours?
Well, the 3 hours went so fast.  Colette was very interesting to listen to, she told us the process of writing a book, getting it published, etc.

Estelle has worked with Colette at the Sureté du Québec for many years.  Thank you Estelle to have invited us for this conference.
From L to R, Michele, Chritianne, Colette, Estelle and me.

We had supper at Estelle's place.
Thanks Estelle and Robert.  Me and Christianne.

Time flies when you are with family.

Wednesday September 26, 2018

It is raining, cold and humid.

Tonight is the "official" supper at Estelle's place.  We are all there and more.

As usual, after the meal, we all stayed at the table with a glass of wine to chat some more.

Another great day.

Thursday September 27, 2018

On September 18, I re-routed the wires for our headphones behind the fireplace.  We used it for the first time today and found that mine are not working.  It turns out it is the power supply that is not working, easy fix.  All is good now.

We are not moving today.  Robert, our friend, is coming camping for one night with us.  Lynn, his wife is not with him, she is in Africa.
My sisters came for the afternoon.

Robert brought some firewood for the campfire.  Thanks Robert.

It is always fun to reconnect with Robert, we wished Lynn could have been here too.
We are having pizza for supper.

We had a great evening with Robert.  See you next year Robert.

Fatigue is catching up to us.  Michele is still coughing, her cold is taking so long to disappear.

Friday September 28, 2018

This morning we picked up Benoit in Laval at the métro.  We are going to Rolland and Suzie's place for supper.
Rolland has found a cache, but he could not open it.  We all went with him to try and open it.
The grass is pretty tall and it is full of thorns.

Rolland had found it in the winter time.  Now, the surrounding is not the same!  Benoit doing crazy things.

We found it.  We read the instructions and played around for a bit and got it open.

When we got back home, we got caught up on each other's life.  Suzie prepared a nice salmon with veggies for supper.  As usual, we ate too much.

Karole was with us.  It is always a pleasure to see her.

Another great day with family.

Saturday September 29, 2018

Estelle and Christianne are with us for lunch.  Estelle has Ariel with her and Christianne has Coralie and Gabriel with her.
Benoit telling us a story.

Ariel knows how to use a zipper and she is showing how to do it to Christianne.

Estelle with Ariel.

Uncle André and aunt Gisèle dropped by for lunch.
Around the table, Estelle, Ariel, Christianne, Gisèle (standing up), me, Gabriel and Coralie.

Ariel really likes Benoit.  They even changed the baby's diaper three times!

Here I am coming back slowly from dropping the garbage after they all left.

Why not have another supper at Estelle's place?
This time it is with her kids.  Maryline, Charles and Alice could not make it tonight.  We are not used to have a house full of kids.  There is always something going on all over the place.
Simon, Andréa and their daughter Ariel.  Also, Marylou with Coralie and Samuel, Guillaume should be coming soon.

Marylou is calling Guillaume wondering when he will be coming.

After a good meal, we all moved to the living room.

Coralie really likes Benoit.  Me,  I spend some time with Samuel.

Once again, we ate too much.  For the last three weeks we ate big meals and did very little exercise.  We are getting tired too, but life is good.

Sunday September 30, 2018

We are trying another way to get Benoit to the métro.
Benoit will take the train from St-Jérôme to Laval where he will switch to the métro to get home.
This will be a lot easier for us, no driving in the heavy traffic.

After we dropped off Benoit, we went to Rolland and Suzie's place before we headed to Karole and Mauro's cottage in St-Faustin.  We stopped by Dominique's condo for a visit.  Dominique is on her honeymoon trip right now.  Very nice condo.

After the condo visit, we drove north.  The trees are changing colour.

We have to stop for a cache with a travel bug in it.

The cottage is on lake "Lac de la Blanche".  It is so nice and relaxing.

Thank you for the nice lunch Karole and Mauro.  A group photo before we leave.

And the crazy ones...

Mauro's uncle from Belgium sculpted this sign for the cottage.

Bye bye, see you next time.

WOW, what a week.  We are back home by 6 o'clock and we are tired.  We went to bed at 9:30.
The plan was to stop at our friends, Charles and Agnès campground, for a few days, but we are way too tired.  We had to cancel our visit with them, sorry Charles and Agnès.  Tomorrow we will be heading to Trenton for two nights to cover some appointments.  Next, we are going to stop in Toronto to visit Michele's sister, Odette.  The next day we will be going to our home for the month of October in Niagara Falls.

Until next time.

Life is good...
