Sunny morning today! I am out for a walk in the campground this
morning. It is even hot outside!
After my walk, I work on the next blog update. Michele looks
outside and notice the fog rolling in. The sun did come back
later on.
Michele and I went for a walk in the afternoon. We also wanted to
check out the couch in the trailer at the front entrance.
WOW! Jan is moving the trailer when we arrived!
My eyes are still doing good. I am happy with the results.
Thursday May 17, 2018
I have an appointment for my eyes this morning, but this time it is to
get a form telling the licenses office I no longer need glasses for
driving. This is not good. I have to redo the special eye
exam 3 times. My eyes are getting tired. I realize the lady
giving me the exam is just learning... Joseph comes in later and
the exam went well after that.
After lunch, we went to Belleville for Michele so she could pick up her
new hearing aids at Helix.
Michele really likes her new hearing aids.
Once we are back home, I have a cold beer outside while reading all the
literature on Michele's new hearing aids.
This is Thursday evening, that means it is the first "Thursday Pub
Night".
We had a busy day.
Friday May 18, 2018
Another busy day ahead of us.
Back at Eye N Optics for my one week eye.
My eyes are healing very well and all is good.
I now have the form to bring to the license office to update my driver
licenses.
We wait in line for 10 minutes and it is our turn. We are told we
need to go to the Belleville office because here, they can't do the
removal of glasses on driver licenses. I guess it will be done on
Tuesday morning now.
We are back home before lunch. After lunch, I leave with the MH
and Michele with the car. I am on my way to Krown Rust control in
Trenton. But first, a stop for gasoline for the MH.
My next stop is at Gerow for propane. We are running of propane
fumes right now.
I finally made it at Krown just before my appointment at 1:30h.
The rust control treatment is done outside.
Michele takes that time to do some more shopping.
Today is Friday of the long weekend here in Canada. The traffic
on the roads to Prince Edward County is crazy right now.
Our RV Park is filling up quickly.
Saturday May 19, 2018
The weather forecast for today? Rain until this afternoon and
they are right!
Michele watching tennis in bed. The thing to do on a rainy day.
This evening is also the night they are having the annual welcome Wine
& Cheese at the club house. It is for the seasonal campers
only, but the owners invited us. Before the wine and cheese
starts, we have to listen to the entertainment comity telling us what
will be happening this summer at the park.
Once again, it was a success. There was a dance after the wine
& cheese, but we did not attend the dance.
We were with Claude and Johanne at our table and they had friends with
them, Daniel and XXX. Daniel and XXX invited us for a last drink
at their trailer after the Win & Cheese. We had a good time.
Sunday May 20, 2018
The sun comes out in the afternoon, but the air is still cool.
We spend the day at home.
Monday May 21, 2018
An easy day at home, again.
Most of the overnight campers are getting ready to leave. Me? I
look at them leaving! I always tried to
take the day after when camping when we were working. What I mean is, if it was a
normal weekend, I would take the Monday off, just to watch people leave
on Sunday. Not nice, but true.
As you know, Friday, I had the MH undercoated at Krown for rust
protection. For a few weeks after that, the MH drips some of the
product used for the treatment. Do not worry, it is safe for the
environment.
While they apply the treatment, there is always some over spray on the
MH. Mix that "oil" with the large amount of flying bug we
currently have at the RV Park and you got a MH with bugs stuck to it.
I walked around the RV Park and it is pretty quiet right now.
One of the seasonal camper has some pretty tulips.
The weather is nice and warm, but the wind coming off the lake is cool.
Tuesday May 22, 2018
Rainy morning, I am preparing some beef cubes for supper. We use our crock-pot all the time.
Jan, the owner, is done washing his MH shortly after lunch.
Why not wash our too! Specially now that the undercoating is done.
Looking pretty!
No more bug stuck on the paint because of the over spray. The
people at Krown recommended I use dish washing soap to wash the
MH. It removes the oily over spray easily and as a bonus, it
leaves very little water stains.
We hit +15°C and no winds. It is a pleasure to wash the MH without glasses.
My eyes are still doing good.
Wednesday May 23, 2018
We have our annual appointment at the dentist this morning. Just a cleaning.
We will have to check and compare the prices between here and Mexico
next winter. We feel it is a little expensive even with the
insurance coverage we have.
Our next stop is at the licenses office in Belleville. I need to
get the glasses restriction removed from my driver license.
It is a busy place this morning. Surprise, everything is done quickly and we are out of there in 30 minutes.
We only have two more appointments and we can leave for Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, on June 9th.
Thursday May 24, 2018
The weather forecast for the next few days is sunny and hot. A
perfect weather to remove the ceiling covering in our bedroom to
inspect it and dry it out. Remember, we had a water leak in the
bedroom.
The bedroom just before we removed the ceiling.
The covering is made out of vinyl with a backing of a quarter of an inch foam.
I have to remove it to see where the water went, if damage is present and allow it to dry out.
I have to cut it out to remove it.
The central section.
You can see where the wood looks damp. The damp area is
darker. After looking closely at the ceiling, we came to the
conclusion the wood is not wet just a little damp and stained.
Most, if not all of the water that came in went into the foam,
good! The wood did not absorb the water.
We put the Air Conditioning on and set it at +12°C. The AC will
remove the moisture and dry out the ceiling. This is just after
an hour and half.
A few more hours...
Two more hours.
Time to remove the last section.
We are very happy there is no damages to the integrity of the
ceiling. We will only have to replace the vinyl to make it look
good again. We are going to let the AC run every day for the next
few days to make sure all the moisture is gone. Once we are in
Moose Jaw, we will sand the ceiling, add a coat of sealant and then
maybe put some carpet on the ceiling. We had carpet on the
ceiling in our last MH and it was OK.
Friday May 25, 2018
It is drying pretty fast.
We decided to check out the ceiling inside two compartments, the TV
compartment and the closet, just to make sure it is not damp or
wet. The TV is removed and we found a large panel doing nothing
in there.
Both place are a little damp.
The TV compartment and the closet. Very little moisture, but a good thing we did check.
And it keeps on drying.
Now, where do you put all the clothes from the closet? In the living room.
And the bedroom TV, up front.
We are very happy that we have no damage.
We keep on running the AC to make sure we do get all the moisture out of there.
I found this photo of me with my mother and young son, Benoit.
A good day.
Saturday May 26, 2018
It is hot and humid. With that comes the possibility of thunderstorms later on.
Being a little paranoid about leaks now, I go back on the roof and double-check for possible places I may have missed.
I did a few touch ups, mostly for my peace of mind.
Sunday May 27, 2018
We keep the AC running all day again, just to make sure...
Today I am putting back together the TV compartment and the closet. The TV will not be installed yet.
Underneath the TV compartment, it is y closet.
The screws holding the bar are only screwed in the paneling.
I changed the screws for longer ones and added a piece of wood for the screw to screw into.
Now the bar will not fall down.
We met some campers in the park, two couples in a MH. It is the
first time the use this brand new MH. They have many questions
about the MH and the lifestyle.
Hard at work.
Meet John and Eric.
The happy campers. Frances, Eric, Robin and John.
They had a good time and they really enjoyed the new MH.
Eric and Frances were a little disappointed by the lack of quality in
the MH. What I mean is, for the amount of money you pay,
equipment and accessories were not all in working order. Welcome
to the RV World Eric.
It was a pleasure to meet them. We had some good conversations, laughter.
We hope our path will cross in the future. Happy Trails!
Monday May 28, 2018
Humm! What is happening with the pontoon boat?
I can see the original seats are burnt by the sun. The pontoon is
only used to ferry people back and forth to the beach. The beach
is about 15 minutes away from the campground. What will they
replace them with?
We are having burgers tonight.
We are having beautiful weather, it is warm, life is good.
Tuesday May 29, 2018
What is really going on this time? Even Jan's dad is in on it.
A whole lot of thinking going on!
I guess we will see the results in a few days.
The pool is officially open and the water temperature is 28°C.
It is 29°C right now and I am not complaining.
Here I am, waiting for the potatoes and carrots to cook on the BBQ.
A good day.
Wednesday May 30, 2108
Michele has an appointment at Helix for some fine tuning of her hearing
aids. She finds that when she put them on in the morning, it is
very loud, same thing with the TV adapter. They gladly made the
adjustments and now it is much better for Michele.
On our way back, we stopped at Home Depot and Rona to checkout what
options are available to finish the ceiling of our bedroom. We
came out with a few ideas. More to follow.
At home, I spend some time in the pool.
A mommy with her babies by the bay.
I am on my way to the docks to check out the little fish.
We are having asparagus with diner tonight.
We are anxious to leave for Borden and see Jeremy, also the air
show. Jannie and Jan are coming with us to the air show.
They are bringing their MH. We are leaving Friday morning.
Thursday May 31, 2018
We got back from grocery shopping just before the rain started.
Jan an Jannie brought their MH to get it ready for Borden.
Once the rain stopped, I checked the tire pressure on all tires, car and MH.
A few needed to be pumped.
The final results for the benches on the pontoon. It will work good since it is only to ferry people and coolers.
This is what we see when we sit under the tree on our site.
A few days back, I showed you this tree with green balls, now they are blooming and white.
Really cute.
We are almost done preparing for our travel tomorrow morning.
