Christianne, Estelle and Alice came for a visit before Benoit left for
Montreal.
Alice is the clown of the family!
At the metro, we said our goodbye to Benoit. We will see you next
year in June.
Michele being crazy!
Me taking photos...
Lynn and Robert invited us for supper. We are having a
raclette. Roger and Maud are with us too.
All six of us said plenty of silliness.
After the raclette, we went for the camp fire.
Rolland and Suzie came by.
Once again, we had a great time, lots of laughters. A good time
was had by all.
The campground is pretty well empty and it was a good thing. We
were pretty noisy, I think!
Tomorrow morning we are leaving for Trenton.
Monday October 2, 2015
We are saying goodbye to our friends Lynn and Robert and their friends
Maud and Roger.
To get back to Trenton, we go around Montreal by driving to Hawkesbury,
that way we miss the construction in Montreal.
We almost always take the Thousand Islands Parkway. It parallel
the 401 a little north on the parkway.
It is a very nice road with some construction along the way. It
only adds a 20 km to the trip.
There is very little traffic and the scenery are so nice.
Back on the 401, we stop at the Flying J in Napanee for gas and propane.
Once we are settled in, we do not move much. We are tired!

Michele had a mammogram this morning and it went well.
Next stop was for some food. The following stop was at Steve Sweet's RV to get
some news about our awning parts.
The parts left Calgary yesterday.
Once the repairs are done, we will head down to the Niagara regions
until November 1st.
I still called Victoria in Moose Jaw to confirm the parts did leave
Calgary.
She told me it did. How long will it take???
Jannie and Jan invited us for a drink so we could catch up on our
summers. We heard all about the flood and the aftermath and we
talked about our summer with the little Gabriel.
It is always fun to get back together.
Wednesday October 4, 2017
We are having a quiet day today.
Michele did some shopping and I washed the front of the MH.
Estelle showed a game to Michele on her tablet and now Michele is
hooked on it.
By late afternoon, we had rain and a few thunders in the distance.
It is so nice to do nothing for while.
Thursday October 5, 2017
The sun is shining, but the winds are blowing.
Michele cut my hair and for the rest of the day, we did nothing.
Our home.
This evening is the last Pub Night at the park.
This was the occasion to see some of the campers we know and some of
the new ones.
A very good evening.
Still no news about the awning parts.
Friday October 6, 2017
Here I am doing some social with other campers.
Saturday October 7, 2017
Jannie and Jan joined us to see the play at Brighton Barn Theater.
As I probably mentioned before, the theater is in an old barn restored.
It is very rustic looking and the actual theater is on the second level.
I do not know if we can take photos during the play, but I did not out
of respect for the actors.
We really loved the play tonight.
Sunday October 8, 2017
We are having a wonderful fall this year. It is +20°C and I did
some reading outside.
We are invited to Millie and Dean for Thanksgiving diner.
From left to right, Linda, Judy, Tom, Jannie, Jan, Guy and Marc.
They are great people as you can see!
Guy, Millie and Dean.
The kid's table...
Some men even did the dishes!
Millie and Dean, the meal was most excellent.
A big thank you to Millie and Dean for inviting us every time we are
around for Thanksgiving.
Monday October 9, 2015
This morning we are getting the leftover from the storm Nate.
The rain started in the middle of the night and continued until the
afternoon.
A lot of rain fell during that period and the pumps could not keep up.
As to why there is so much water on our site?
Behind us, there is a large playground/field and all the water drains
onto those two sites.
When I woke up this morning, I could see the base of the support
leg from the neighbor's 5th wheel.
Here it is, one hour later.
One more hour and we could not see the base anymore.
In 3 to 4 hours, the water went up more that two inches.
When the rain stopped, the sun came out almost right away. This
is the site of the 5th wheel that had all the water.
The pumps are finally getting ahead of the water. It is even a
little too warm for me in the sun.
We noticed this big black cloud over Lake Ontario. It never came
close to us.
The weather was weird today.
Tuesday October 10, 2017
We forgot to take any photos today.
We treated ourselves to a Chinese buffet for lunch. The food was
not even warm!
Back at home, we did some reading in the sun, watch some TV.
Wednesday October 11, 2017
The weather forecast for today? Rain and more rain, but the rain
did not start until 3:30h.
It is going to be a quiet day today. I work on our web page and
Michele plays on her tablet.
Back to August 2nd, we started the process to replace our awning.
Guess what? The parts finally arrived yesterday. Seventy
days
later!
We have an appointment to get the awning changed Friday at 10:30 am.
I also started the process to get the operation correct my vision for
my eyes. My first appointment is on Friday at 3:45 pm.
We started looking for a campsite in the Niagara area for the last two
weeks of October. Two years ago, we could get a site for $160
per week, but this year, we found the same sites for $340 per
week! Did everybody win the lottery in Ontario?
Thursday October 12, 2017
This morning, I called Sherkston Shores to see if the price they quoted
us was for real ($420/week). Surprise! This morning, the
price is only $295/week. This makes more sense. We are now
booked at Sherkston Shores from the 17 to the 31st of October
Yesterday Jan and Jannie asked us if we could move to another site
today. A
group of campers wanted 3 sites side by side. We said sure, no
problems.
This is our new home.
Weather wise, it has warmed up and the wind has died down. We got
a nice +19°C today. Not bad for October 12th.
Friday October 13, 2017
On our way to Steve Sweet RV to get our awning replaced.
They were happy to see that we are a little early.
We pull the MH in the back and we let them get to work.
We have some grocery shopping to do.
We finally got our awning replaced.
They had no major problems other than a small bracket/spacer that had
to be
replaced with another one because the arms for the new awning were not
exactly the same. Why am I not surprised that the arms they
ordered were not exactly the same!!! This is not Steve Sweet RV's
fault, but the RV place in Moose Jaw. So after they solve this
issue, the awning works better than before.
Here is what I am talking about. The modification they did is
that piece of metal not painted. I will paint it myself later on.
Like I said, the awning now works better than the original one...
One less thing to worry about now that we have our awning fixed.
We have decided to leave North Shore Monday morning and stop in Toronto
and visit Michele's sister on our way to Sherkston Shores.
We will be spending the night at a Walmart in Toronto near Odette's
place.
After supper, me and Michele are watching TV when suddenly Michele
says, "We forgot your appointment for your eyes!".
Darn! It is 8 pm and we both forgot the appointment! I am
not very proud of myself right now.
Saturday October 14, 2017
First thing I did today, I called the office of the optometrist to
apologize about the missed appointment.
Back to yesterday, when we were coming back from Steve Sweet RV,
Michele saw a yard sale and stopped. She told me that they had
four chairs like the one we just bought for only $10. We decide
not to
go back and really check them out.
This morning, I decide to go and have a look at those four chairs, if
they still have them. They are a little tired, but not too bad at
all for $10. So, I bought them.
Chair number 1 is the new chair and chair number 2 is the used chair
we bought.
While I am doing some preparation for our trip Monday morning, I came
across this guy!
I left it alone and it left me alone.
After a while, I found myself having done all the preparation I could
outside the MH.
The bikes are already on the car and protected from the rain we are
supposed to have on Sunday.
And the rain starts during the evening.
Sunday October 15, 2017
I take one last walk in the RV Park. I am just curious as to how
many people are still here. The RV Park closes Monday.
Not too many campers left.
The wind sure picked up after lunch. We are under a strong wind
advisory.
We decide to go near Lake Ontario and check out the waves. They
are not that big.
It turns out the winds are not as strong as they expected, good!
As I said, we are leaving tomorrow morning to go to Toronto and visit
Michele's sister.
Today we meet David. This gentleman is starting fulltiming with
his RV. He came over before supper and we talked about the do's
and don't's of fulltiming. We chatted for a few hours.
David is a really nice guy. Hopefully our path will cross in the
future.
Note:our
hit counter on
our web page is no longer working and I replaced it with another one,
but I
cannot remember what was the number of hits we were at. If you
remember,
send me and e-mail at denis(at)michele-denis(dot)com and let me
know. I used 50000 as a number to continue, but I would like the
real one.
