We had some light rain during the night and early this morning.
I do not think it will be enough to change the drought around here.
Surprise! Jeremy and Gabriel are back from Regina at lunchtime.
We are all invited at Kristin sister's place in Moose Jaw for a BBQ
this afternoon.
Gabriel really likes the hairless guinea pig.
L to R. Erin, Michele, Ethan, Jeremy, Cherryl and Zack.
Kristin with her Dad, John.
The feast.
We had a very good meal with very nice people.
Jay's (Erin's husband) father playing with Gabriel and Zack.
We had a good time even with a super hot 35°C.
Monday July 17, 2015
We woke up a smoky sky this morning. The smoke comes from the
wildfire in B.C.
Although B.C. is a long way from here, the wind blows from B.C. and the
smoke comes with the wind.
It is a cooler day.
Gabriel's balance on his bike is not very good. He is too busy
looking at other things when biking.
We are putting him back on his balance bike for a week and practicing
him every day.
We only have to re-adjust the seat for him.
Michele and Gabriel are going for a bike ride.
A little craziness with shadows.
They saw a bird's nest with baby birds in it.
Gabriel is doing good with his balance bike.
During that time, I went to buy the gas cylinder for the trunk of the
car.
Once I was back home, we had a nice lunch consisting of Grilled Cheese.
The black cylinder are the parts I bought this morning. Ours are
bad and no longer hold the trunk. At the dealership, they cost
$45 each. I found some at the local scrap yard for $25 for the
pair.
Our handsome Gabriel.
No pool today, just the sprinkler.
Gabriel is as cold as an ice cube.
He is making me cold while trying to warm up!
He is still cold, but according to him, an ice-cream sandwich will help
him warm up!!!
A couple of Mario Cart races before bed.
Today's smoke was irritating for the airways today.
Tuesday July 18, 2017
Another cool day for us today.
We went to pick up a filing cabinet this morning. We had found it
on Kijiji.
Back in the house, I do some reading from the French/English dictionary
(with pictures).
Gabriel is very good a pronunciation of the French words.
Gabriel is telling me stories and I fell asleep!
Gabriel was hungry like a wolf. He ate two pogo.
After lunch, I leave with the MH to empty the black and gray
water. The reservoirs are full! We could not wait until
Friday when we go camping to empty them. I also take that time to
fill up on gasoline. At $0.899 per liters, not bad at all!
We filled the pool for Gabriel, but he only laid down in it and told me
stories about wild animals.
There is a lot less smoke in the air today.
The sun is not shining as strong as usual because of the smoke.
Gabriel is wearing a coat to warm up faster.
When Jeremy got back from work, we moved the filing cabinet to the
basement.
Gabriel and his Dad also went for a bike ride.
Wednesday July 19, 2017
We spent the morning indoor.
Gabriel loves books, mostly the ones that talk about animals.
Part of Gabriel menagerie.
He loves this book, his mom bought it.
I am not usually reading books to Gabriel. It is just not my
thing. Michele loves reading to Gabriel. Gabriel is always
very attentive to what we are reading.
So many things in the plate!
Pool time for the afternoon.
Jeremy had a long day at work.
Thursday July 20, 2017
Gabriel is showing us how to catch a bug with a net.
His favorite toy, a rubber crocodile! I cannot remember when he
got it, but it has been a while.
Just having fun.
We had to do groceries for our week of camping. You should never
do groceries shopping with an empty stomach. Why not have lunch
at McDonald? Bonus, Gabriel gets to play in the play place too!
We ate it all!
Grand-maman and Gabriel having fun...
Gabriel spent a lot of time in the play place.
Once we are back home, pool time.
I guess it is my time to go in the pool with Gabriel. It is not a
choir, just plain fun.
We naming all the animals that lives in the jungle.
Daddy joins us after his working day!
Playing a little on the tarp that was under the pool!!!
Life is good!
This little boy is tired.
Once Gabriel is in bed, we get ready to go to the campground
tomorrow morning.
Friday July 21, 2017
Gabriel woke up to and upset stomach. He almost threw up.
He is very pale and can only eat a few crackers.
By the middle of the morning he feels better.
I have an appointment at the RV dealership for a diagnostic on broken
things in the MH that the extended warranty may or may not cover.
This is the first time we use the extended warranty. We can't
wait to see what happens.
Sometimes I wonder why it is so hard to follow appointment, I mean for
the dealership.
My appointment is at 10 am. I am at the dealership at 9:45
am. The lady at the service desk ask me if I can come back at 1
pm!
NO! My appointment is at 10, not a 1.
They finally "managed" to get me in at 10 am, imagine that?
Once the diagnostic is done, they will contact the extended warranty to
see what is covered and what is not. We should have an answer
today or Monday.
Now that it is done, I head to the campground.
Michele and Gabriel join me shortly after that.
We go hunting for geocaches that are close to us after lunch.
The first cache is located at the information center near this
mural. Our campground is on the other side of the road.
Gabriel is very good with the GPS. He is pointing the way we have
to go.
After we found the cache, we spent some time in the information center.
We are on our way to the second cache. Gabriel is still guiding
us.
Gabriel found it no problems, but it is a little too high for him to
get.
Back at the MH, Gabriel goes back to work. Errr! I mean to
play.
And eating an ice-cream sandwich.
It is hot today.
One busy little boy.
A grand-papa having a nap?
Just having fun.
The campground has a small playground. An older type of play
ground.
It has been a long time since we have seen a merry-go-round like this
one.
Gabriel loves chicken nuggets.
I had to cut a few branches that were rubbing on the MH.
A movie and bedtime.
We are staying here until Monday. Monday we are moving to the
River Park Campground in Wakamow for 5 nights.
Saturday July 22, 2017
A little bit of reading this morning.
With breakfast over, we head back to the playground.
Gabriel loves the merry-go-round.
What could happen, did happen!
He fell twice and he stayed so long on the merry-go-round that his
stomach was upset for an hour.
We had to clean this "wound".
What a face...
We spend most of the day outside.
I also take time to do some cooking. I cooked the sausages and
bacon for the next few breakfast.
A good day!
Sunday July 23, 2017
We have a visitor this morning.
A sneeze coming up.
The squirrel comes and pick up some peanuts from my foot.
What a look!
We are back at the merry-go-round and more falls. Me? I
laugh.
This time Gabriel did not stay too long on the merry-go-round, no
bellyache this time.
He really loves snakes and crocodiles.
He is concentration hard, look at his tongue.
Jeremy and Kristin stopped by on their way home.
They bought nice Batman sunglasses for Gabriel.
Gabriel is patiently waiting for the squirrel to come and get the
peanut from his foot.
Next is a bike ride.
One more try with the peanuts.
Jeremy is playing with Michele's camera.
Mischievous boy...
It is too hot outside.
Time to cool-off indoor.
A left-over dinner.
Grand papa trying Gabriel's shirt.
Monday July 24, 2015
Moving day, we do not have too far to go, only 5 km.
Gabriel is giving me a hand putting some stuff away.
Dancing steps!
I dropped something on my toe and that toe was already damaged. I
hurt like a son of a gun.
It took a little longer to get to our next campground, we had to wait
for a train.
On cute little man.
While we were waiting for Jeremy and Kristin, Michele went fishing for
minnows.
On our way back, Grand-maman saw a BIG caterpillar.
It was as fat as my thumb.
Nothing like a Mr. Freeze to cool off after a bike ride.
Michele fixing the small fordable little bench. She is redoing
the sewing treads.
Our site.
Gabriel showing us his "moves".
Gabriel talks all the time. Here, he is telling me a story.
Playing with Dad.
And doing some crazy faces...
Time to dig a hole.
It was a busy day.
Thursday July 27, 2017
Jeremy teaching some stuff about his old phone, now our new phone.
It is a hot day at +33°C.
We even took out the small pool for Gabriel.
Look at the hairdo!
When I say small...
After a few minutes, it is time for foot bath only.
Gabriel is faking sleeping because he stole Dad's chair.
A good whistle dog.
Another evening around the fire.
Friday July 28, 2017
Now that Gabriel knows how to bike on his own, he wants to bike all the
time.
Dad getting his son ready for the next bike ride.
Got to have gloves to look cool!
Ready!
Go.
Jeremy, Kristin and Gabriel are going back home a day early. It
is too hot at +35°C with little shade at our site.
The nights are not the best in that heat.
We are staying at the campground and spend most of the afternoon and
evening indoor with the AC on.
Saturday July 29, 2017
Time to leave and go home. All is good to go!
NO!
For some strange reason, I forgot to retract the awning and started to
drive. Ostie!
I am not proud of myself...
Well, it is only the awning that is damaged. It could have been
worse.
Tie the awning closed and drive home I guess...
I am going to contact my RV insurance Monday morning and go from there.
Jeremy, Kristin and Gabriel went to the Western Development Museum for
a Lego fest.
They are not home yet when we arrive.
Here are some example of what they have seen.
Gabriel loved his day at the Lego show.
Some of the Lego had discounts, Gabriel picked this one and it is time
to build it.
It is a "Star War, Imperial Trooper Battle Pack".
Another hot day at +36°C.
We had a thunder storm in the evening with lots of T&L.
Some rain, but not enough.
Moose Jaw got most of it.
Jeremy is cleaning up his basement and for us, it is pool time!
I laid down on the slip-n-slide in the cold water. Now I am holding
Gabriel in my arms and I am COLD!
Jeremy takes a break from cleaning and joins Gabriel in the pool too.
When you are cold from the pool, all you need is an ice-cream cone to
warm you up!!!
With peanuts too.
Gabriel loves it.
He is so funny to watch!
It is 5 pm and the thermometer is at +38°C. It is too hot, we
head back indoor now that the house is air conditioned.
Monday July 31, 2015
We have to wash the car. It is covered with sap from the trees in
the campground. It was so hot, the trees were sweating sap on
everything.
Gabriel is helping me wash the car.
I wash, he rinses everything except the car! I have to remind him
to rinse the car every now and then.
The airplane was pretty hard to see at dusk.
Jeremy decided to paint it a flashy colour so we can see it better.
Today, I contacted my RV insurance. They will pay for the awning,
but my rates will go up for the next 3 years. I know I said it
before, but insurance companies are not there for us. They are
mostly there to make money. After having said that, Some of
our mutual funds do have investment in insurance companies. I
guess we will recoup the money one way or the other!
