I leave our car at the Workman's garage for some needed repairs.
One of them is the transmission not shifting properly and another
repair is to replace the flasher return "thingy" in the steering column
and a much needed tune-up.
This is going to be a relaxed day at home!
Before I keep going, we bought our car brand new in 2009. Until
now, we never had done anything to this car other the normal stuff like
tires and breaks.
By the end of the day, we got a call from Workman for an up-date on
what needs to be done to our car.
Darn! Other than the repair mention above, the belt has to be
changes, an oil leak on one of the axle seal and a few other little
things.
Everything should be done by late tomorrow afternoon.
More to follow!
Tuesday May 17, 2016
One more day at the campground with no car.
The owner has asked us if we could move site to a seasonal one until we
leave.
No problems and we move in no time.
Our street.
Our new site.
The view from our bedroom.
The view from out front.
We got some news from Workman and it is not good!
Our car will not be ready until late tomorrow afternoon.
Oh! Well!
Cooking supper.
Regardless, it was still a good day!
Wednesday May 18, 2016
It is a sunny day and it is warm on top of that!
I use my time to make new container to be used as replacement
caches. Some are pill bottles and some are made from the top part
of plastic bottles.
Another day at home.
We did not get any calls from Workman and still no car...
Thursday May 19, 2016
I finally called Workman at 9:00 am. I am told our car should be
ready before noon.
Yes! We got our car back before noon!
We are very happy with the work done, but not with the communication.
Monday we saw a RV table on Kijiji for $20.
We are now Thursday and we will finally go and take a look at this
table...
Here it is, and we bought it...
While looking at the table, I noticed a "honey wagon" in the garage.
We made an offer of $50 and to our surprise, he accepted it.
We are now the proud owner of a "honey wagon".
What is a honey wagon? Simply, it is a tank with wheels used to
carry gray and/or black water to the dump station in a RV Park.
It will be carried under the MH when not in use.
Photos about this will be coming later.
Friday May 20, 2016
Another beautiful day, we decided to go geocaching this afternoon.
One of the cache is located near a memorial where 3 young person died
in a car accident.
There are a lot of solar panels used in PEC. Another cache is
located in this birdhouse.
One more cache is on this seasonal road.
A farmer has created his own tractor museum and a cache is located
here. We did not find it!!!
On our way back home, we saw this Search & Rescue helicopter doing
some kind of exercise in a field.
We are now walking on the Millennium Trail and we found 5 more caches.
Some caches were pretty far down the ditch.
Michele and Consecon Lake in the background.
We had a good day with 13 caches found.
Saturday May 21, 2016
We took a drive to Brighton for a few purchased.
There is a wine and cheese at the clubhouse tonight. This is to
celebrate the opening of a new camping season.
With the wine and cheese, we also have some food, beer and wine for
free.
The wine and cheese is open only to the seasonal campers, not for the
overnight campers.
We have been invited by the owners even if we are not seasonal
campers. They consider us as part-time seasonal...
Some of the food for tonight.
Our servers, the owner's daughter on the left and the employee on the
right.
We were more that 100 people here tonight.
As usual, we were one of the last one to leave...
Sunday May 22, 2016
We woke up to a sunny sky and it warmed up quickly!
We read and watched the fire for most of the afternoon.
In the middle of the afternoon, a dark cloud came over us and dumped
some rain on us.
The sky makes a lot of noise and 30 minutes later the sun is back!!!
We are once again in the clubhouse for a potluck dinner this
time. It is open to all campers.
Michele looking for more books!
There is not as many people as yesterday.
A view of the dinning area.
We are sitting with Jan and Jannie, the owners. Jan's parents are
here for a few weeks for Holland.
We had a good meal and good conversation.
It has been a weird weather day.
Monday May 23, 2016
Monday! The last day of a long weekend.
The weekend warriors are gone, so are most of the seasonal campers too.
Us?
We do laundry!!!
We also take the time to visit Claude and Joanne and the new trailer
they bought last year.
A nice relaxing day.
Tuesday May 24, 2016
I am sitting on the dentist chair's this morning. My annual teeth
cleaning.
My implants are a little loose and after talking with the dentist, he
makes the suggestion to wait until we are in Arizona this winter to get
it fixed in Mexico for a lot less money than he would charge.
What a nice dentist, he has common sense.
Our next stop is at Home Depot to look for a way to attached the "honey
wagon" to the underside of the MH.
Here is the honey wagon!
I simply use some metal strapping to hold the honey wagon in
place. It is located all the way to the rear between the frame of
the MH.
Once I am done, you can hardly see the honey wagon under the MH.
A look from the back of the MH.
I can tell you I was really dirty after installing the honey wagon.
If you remember, we got the rust proofing done a few weeks ago and the
underside of the MH is full of oil dripping.
We have some salmon for supper.
It was another hot day.
Wednesday May 25, 2016
We are continuing our quest to get all the caches in PEC.
This time we are on the Millennium Trail with our bikes.
We are wearing long pants to protect us from possible poison ivy
contact. It is hot at +26°C.
Michele looking for a cache.
We have biked 10 km and found 21 caches today.
Thursday May 26, 2016
We are back on the Millennium Trail for the rest of the caches on this
trail.
One of the cache.
After finding 13 caches, we treat ourselves to a nice ice-cream cone.
On our way back, we stop at the local grocery store and what do we see?
A pickup truck with a skull!!!
Here I am cooking supper.
It is hot outside, but still have a nice campfire for a few hours.
We had a good day today.
Our friends from Cold Lake came by today and we missed them.
Friday May 27, 2016
What a surprise this morning, our friend Sean came by for a
visit. His wife, Claudette, is still at home helping her for her
sister's wedding tomorrow. We are also invited to Delima and
Jay's wedding tomorrow.
It is always fun to see Sean and we sure did talk a lot.
I still have some wood to burn before we leave... A campfire, a
good book, life is good!
It was a hot and humid day.
Saturday May 28, 2016
We spent most of the day at home relaxing. We also had to get
ready for Delima and Jay's wedding.
The ceremony and meal took place at the restaurant "Golden Palace" in
Trenton.
It was a very nice and simple wedding. They even had a pianist
playing music all the time we were there.
Delima, Jay with Jay's mother and uncle.
Delima's parents, Andre and Pearl, next to them are Delima and Jay.
After a very good meal, we all moved to Delima and Jay's house for the
evening.
Again, we had music all evening long.
Delima's father, Andre, sang some songs for us.
What a nice couple!
We really think this was one of the top 3 weddings we have ever
attended. We are very happy we were invited.
Sunday May 29, 2016
It is hot and humid again today.
I spend most of the day packing stuff to be ready for tomorrow's
departure to Quebec.
We still take time to go a visit Claude and Joanne, stop and chat with
a few of the campers left in the park.
Tomorrow we are leaving to go to Quebec and visit our families.
