Manon is traveling with me in the MH. She wants to see and feel
what it is like to travel in a MH.
She also has a job to do. She is replacing Michele on the
camera! She has done a great job.
What is this umbrella? It is a nesting platform for some kind of
bird.
We are less than an hour from Labelle and we are stuck in traffic for
more than 45 minutes.
Sometimes we move 100 feet and stop again.
When it finally moves again, we could not see the cause of the stall.
The things we see on the road!
A quick stop at Flying J for some gas and propane, it should take no
more then 30 minutes...
It was hell! It took forever. Patrice had to go and wait
for us on the truck side of Flying J.
Back on I-75 North and the road is good. We are getting closer to
Mayo!
Patrice waiting next to us for the light to change!!!
We are getting closer!
Less than 2 km and a nice bike path, this is nice!
It was a good traveling day even with the traffic jam. Manon
enjoyed the trip in the MH.

No photos today!
Michele is the expert with the camera, not me!
We continue setting up for the next month.
We took a bike ride in the park and had a look around the RV Park.
The RV Park is nice and at $360 + electricity for a month, it is great.
Thursday March 3, 2016
Patrice and I went to Mayo to have a look around and fill the gas tank
of the car. It is a small village.
After lunch, we drive to Live Oak to check out our next RV Park and do
a little shopping.
Once we are back home, I finally take some photos of our sites.
One of the street.
Manon and Patrice's place.
My home!
A view from the back street!
The temperature is around +25°C during the day.
We had a very short and noisy thunderstorm in the evening. We had
some more thunderstorms during the night.
Friday March 4, 2016
Brrr! It is on the cool side this morning, +8°C.
I am getting the ribs ready for tonights meal. Manon and Patrice
are coming here for supper.
With the ribs in the slow-cooker, we go back to Mayo with Manon this
time.
The grocery store!
Part of the main street.
An old building and it will be restored eventually.
In small, old villages, you usually see old gas stations. This
one is a Bait & Tackle store now.
This one is a Thrift Store now.
Once we are back home, we decided to go and find the caches along the
bike path.
The two pros!
This one is a nice cache!
TADA!
I received some news about Michele from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
She is very busy with Gabriel and Jeremy!
As we can see, she is very busy!!!
We found 17 caches and rode our bike for 13 km.
Saturday March 5, 2016
The nights are still on the cool side at +6°C, but the days are warm at
+24.
We are having breakfast at the restaurant in the Park.
We are walking there.
The restaurant and cottages are in the shaded area of the RV
Park. It is close to the Suwannee River.
We are in Perry to visit and more shopping, Perry is at about 40
minutes from our RV Park.
We found 5 caches today.
Sunday March 6, 2016
We have a lazy morning, but we are back on our bikes and on the bike
path going west this time.
We were wondering what was harvested from this field.
We finally found out, cotton.
We rode our bike for 16 km today.
Monday March 7, 2016
We have a small problem here at this RV Park.
At night, the armadilos
keep digging hole looking for food.
It is dangerous to twist an ankle when you walk around.
A tour of the RV Park. One of the street in the Park.
The giant gazebo!
Every Friday and Saturday a musician plays some music and sings for the
enjoyment of the RVers.
The laundry room, washrooms and changing room for the pool.
Some different views of the pool area.
The water in the pool is not as warm as the pool in LaBelle, but it is
good when it is hot outside.
Tuesday March 8, 2016
Another 30°C + today!
We are out on the bikes to find the last three caches of the "Suwannee
River Rendez-vous" series. They are at the RV Park.
The last one gives us a hard time, our GPS are going crazy making us go
around in circles.
I took a photo of flowers!
We finally found the last cache. It was 10 meters from ground
zero. Ground zero is the point where the cache is supposed to be
located!
The water level of the Suwannee River is still going down and this
gives the spring a
chance to clarify the water in the spring.
The two panels indicates where the water level of the Suwannee River
was in 2009 and 2014!
Even if it is very warm, we are out with the truck looking for caches...
One of the caches brings us to one of the oldest cemetery in
Florida. The Ruben and Rebecca Charles cemetery.
It is a very interesting story.
We think it is very important to maintain these old cemeteries because
of the historical value.
A few kilometers from the cemetery is another cache.
It is located at the Charles Spring.
Our GPS are going crazy again, but our talent helps us find it in no
time.
I am invited for supper at Manon and Patrice's place.
We are having chicken and veggies and it is very good, so good that I
had to
have another plate full.
A good day!
Wednesday March 9, 2016
When we came in here, we drove by Branford and noticed it had a Publix
grocery store.
Off to Branford for some caching and shopping.
Our memories played trick on us. No Publix here, but we did find
a few caches.
Being so hot, we are wearing our short pants, but we do have closed
shoes on.
All of the caches are in the bush and boy did we get scratched legs.
Once back home, we spent a few hours in the pool.
Thursday March 10, 2016
Another day in the 30s. We are on our way to Mayo and we take the
back roads to get there.
Every where there is a herd of cow, horse or sheep, you have a donkey
to protect the herd.
Another late afternoon at the pool.
Friday March 11, 2016
No photos today!
We went out for a bike ride of 8 km in the heat.
We spent an hour listening to a musician/singer at the gazebo.
We went to the park bingo after supper. It is a very simple and
fun bingo.
Saturday March 12, 2016
Happy Birthday Manon!
This morning we are in Lake City to visit the flea market.
It is a small flea market, but OK.
To celebrate Manon's birthday, we have lunch at Guangdong, a Chinese
buffet type of restaurant.
The food was OK, no more than that!
After lunch, we decided to check my email to see if our orders had
arrived at Walmart from Walmart.com.
Everything has come in! The only downside is that the Walmart
where we
will pick up our orders in Gainesville, one hour away from here!
What Patrice has ordered from Walmart.com. A 10 inch
tablet/laptop and
synthetic oil for his truck. The difference in prices between the
Canadian and American prices is unbelievable, even with the exchange
rate we have right now.
Here is what I ordered, Some synthetic oil and a new tablet because I
dropped my old one and broke the front glass!!!
Why did we buy at Walmart.com?
First, the choice is larger that the store and you get free shipping to
the Walmart store you want for free.
Another plus, you can get some refurbished items for cheaper.
You can do the same at Walmart.ca in Canada, but the prices are more
expensive than the US.
Sunday March 13, 2016
We had rain most of the night and this morning. The camera was in
the car, so no photos of the rain!
After the rain, the sun is out!
Manon and Patrice are over for supper, we are having corned beef
brisket sandwiches.
Once our bellies were full, we watched some TV.
Monday March 14, 2016
This morning, we are having a brunch at Patrice and Manon.
The chefs at work!
It was a very very good brunch!
My BBQ really needs a cleaning.
After the brunch, we went to Mayo at the local car wash with the BBQ
and
one more chair that needs a good cleaning.
The before and after photo. I may not look like much difference,
but let me tell you, it sure did make a difference on the BBQ and the
chair.
Back at the RV Park, we went to the river to catch a few rays and a few
beers.
It is spring break and there are many families on holidays here at this
time.
Here is one family having a good time with the rope on the tree over
the river.
It was a good day!
Tuesday March 15, 2016
Today is caching day!
Shortly after 9 am, we are on the road to Steinhatchee and the gulf
coast.
We stopped a few times to look for caches.
One of the cache is located by the boat launch on the river
Steinhatchee
in Steinhatchee!
This little baby Fiddler crab was crossing the road!
He made it!
Coming back from a cache near the coast, Patrice was startle by this
snake. We are not sure what kind of snake it is, but hey, as far
as we are concerned, they are all bad...
This is the road between Steinhatchee and Keaton Beach. Not much,
but it is a big lumber area...
Keaton Beach! We were here in November 2010.
The same post as in 2010!
On the left is now and on the right is in November
2010.
Another view!
On our way out of Keaton Beach.
We keep on caching and it takes us to a small park with a beach and a
cache!
We had a good harvest of caches with 27 found and only one not found.
