Wednesday March 16, 2016

A relaxing day at home.
We did go for a bike ride, 12 km for me, 15 km for Patrice and 20 km for Manon.

Thursday March 17,2016

Patrice and I  are at the McDonald for breakfast.  We are also getting the updates done on our phones and tablets.

Just after we got home, the rain started and it lasted for the rest of the day.

Friday March 18, 2016

Just for a change, it is raining again this morning!

After lunch, we went for a walk by the river.
We found this weird looking cut off branch!
Is it a dinosaur?

Here is a close up, easy to imagine a dinosaur!

We are back on the bikes and went all the way to the bridge.  It is 11 km away from our site.

This bridge was built in 1947.  It has a historical significance because it is the first suspension bridge in Florida.
The name of the bridge is to honor a local judge, Hal W. Adams.

The words under the name are about a song about the river.  "Way down upon the Suwannee River", was written in 1851 and it became the state of Florida official song in 1935.

The bike path we used.

Next to the bridge is a public boat launch.  It has a post showing the level of the river when it flooded the area.
At the top of the post is a band that says "Bridge" (it is how high the bridge is now), flood of 1948 (red), flood of 1973 (yellow), flood of 1998 (orange), flood of 2009 (blue) and the flood of 1986 (green).
In 1948, the Suwannee River was 40 feet above the normal level...

When we got back home, me and Patrice went to the pool to cool off and had a few beers by the pool.

Friday, it is bingo night at the RV Park!
Here is the owner preparing the bingo...

We are having supper at the restaurant here at the RV Park.

Patrice and Manon are having the burger and fries and I am having the chicken wings.

While we are waiting for our food, we watch kids having fun in the spring.

With our meal over, we are ready for bingo!
This is a modern bingo here!!!

In the bathroom they have these posters about tools.
I love them!
Skill Saw; "a portable tool used to make studs too short".

Drill Press;
"a tall upright machine useful for suddenly snatching flat metal stock out of your hands so that it smack you in the chest and flings you beer across the room, denting the freshly-painted project which you have carefully set in the corner where nothing could get to it...".

Table Saw;
"A large stationary power tool commonly used to launch wood projectiles for testing wall integrity".

I find them so true.

I could not believe it, they still have "stubbies" beer bottles!

As usual, we only contributed to the pot of money at the bingo!

Saturday March 19, 2016

For a change, it rains!

The rain ended around noon.  In the store, you have this picture of the RV Park flooded.  If you can tell where the picture is taken from, you get a free ice cream cone...

Patrice, Manon and I found the exact place where the photo was taken.  The arrow indicates where the photo was taken.  We will ask for our prices in the next few days.  Notice the water level when it was flooded.

With Spring Break still going on, we still have a lot of families camping here.

The sun is back in the afternoon and it even got warm (+26°C).
I went to the pool at around 3 pm for a short 20 minutes, just to cool off.
After that, we all sat in the shade and had a few refreshments.

Sunday March 20, 2016

A nice relaxing Sunday.
We went to the pavilion to listen to the entertainer.  He sang mostly blues.

Caching, biking and good food, what a week...

Monday March 21, 2016

The weather is perfect for some geocaching north of Perry.
We found a total of 33 caches and 10 we did not!

On our way back, we saw those robots in front of a welding shop.

We drove by this place a few times, but we could not make out what was there.
This time we stopped.  It turned out to be calves being raised.

We had a great day!

Tuesday March 22, 2106

It was pretty cold last night!
We got frost on the car this morning...

We are back in Live Oak to check out our next RV Park.
We got a coupon from a booth at the Fort Meyers RV Show for 2 nights free.  We even got to book our sites today.
This is the 50 amps area.

This is their 30 amps area, but they do not have sewers.

The name of the RV Park is "Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park".  It is on the same river as our RV Park in Mayo.

Our sites are booked from April 1st to the 3rd.

On our way back, we stopped at he local Lowes to buy parts for a modification in Patrice's 5th wheel.

We even took the time to look for a cache in the area.

Wednesday March 23, 2016

The weather as turned nice again yesterday and it is warming up.
We spent the day at home biking, talking and plain relaxing.

Every day at end of the afternoon, we see a large flock of buzzards flying in circle west of us.  We wonder why?  I looked at Google earth to see if there is anything special to the west of us.  I found nothing.

Thursday March 24, 2016

WOW!  Another day at home!
Patrice and Manon are talking about going home sooner, probably in the next few days

Friday March 25, 2016

Patrice is waiting for a car part to arrive from Amazon.com.  It has arrived before lunch.  They decided to get ready and live today for Quebec.
Getting ready for travel.

Here they go!

One last wave...

...and they are gone!
Take care and drive safe.  We will see you again this summer.

I am sad to see them go, but I understand their reasons.  As to not miss them so much, I go to the pavilion to listen to music.

I give myself a treat and have supper at the restaurant here in the park.  I eat Fish & Chips.
I am not going to the bingo tonight.  Alone it is boring.

Only four more nights before Michele is back from Saskatchewan.

Saturday March 26, 2016

I biked a little around the RV Park.
This is something I never saw before, a dog wash station!
What a good idea.

As many of you may know, I am not a car guy.
When I see a pick-up truck like this one I wonder...  Why do this?  What is the benefit?
I guess it makes him (and probably her) feel good!!!

We have no wind whatsoever today and the river is very calm.

On the left, the photo is taken today and on the right, the photo was taken on March 5th.  The river has dropped quite a bit since then.

The rain is back around supper time and it goes non-stop for a long time.

Sunday March 27, 2016

Happy Easter to all!
Here is my chocolate bunny for Easter.  It was good...

Today was a boring day, no sun and the rain started at 5 pm and did not stop until 4 in the morning.

Michele will be home Tuesday.  I cannot wait to see her again...

Monday March 28, 2016

I spent the morning cleaning the MH.
In the afternoon, I did laundry and spent some time at the pool.  It is a nice +29°C.

Tuesday March 29, 2016

Michele is coming home today!
Ouppsss!  Change of plan!  Jeremy texted me to tell that Michele missed her flight.
She caught a very bad cold and somehow miss read her departure time.
She will be back here Wednesday now.
I use the day to start packing up.  I got the carpets dried up and put away.

Wednesday March 30, 2016

Michele is on her way to Jacksonville, Florida.
In her bad luck (missing her flight) she ended up with better flight connections.
She will be here 6 hours earlier.

I left early to go to Jacksonville.  I am doing geocaching in Jacksonville.  I found 10 caches today.
Michele's flight is coming in soon, time to go to the Jacksonville airport.

Jacksonville airport is very small.  In the waiting area, they placed about 15 rocking chairs.
It is very convivial.  They even have a musician playing some music for the people waiting.

I have no photos, but I can tell you we were two happy people.
Michele has a very bad cold, she is all congested and she is short of breath.

Once home, she went to bed to rest.

Thursday March 31, 2016

Michele did not have a very good night sleep.
To make matter worst, it is a very hot and humid day.

Michele spent most of the afternoon in bed with the AC on.

Me, I continue packing up slowly because we are leaving tomorrow.
I found time to go to the pool to cool off at the end of the afternoon.

Until next time.

Life is good...
