Wednesday June 1, 2016

Estelle mentioned that her son's daughter, Ariel, (proud parents Simon and Andréa), at her place this afternoon.
What a surprised when we say Marilou and her daughter Coralie there also.

A very happy Grandmother!

This is the first time we see Ariel.

Estelle and Robert join us at the MH later on the afternoon
We have to take the serious and funny photo!

Lots of talk and lots of laugh.

Thursday June 2, 2016

My brother and I are on a bike trail this morning and we are looking for caches.
One of the cache is located in this "monster".

We found 11 caches, but we are very wet because of the rain that hit us on the trail.

Tonight, we have my sister Christianne with us and for a change, we talked and laughed a lot!

My sister and me.

Once again, we had a great time with a member of my family.

Friday June 3, 2016

Friday afternoon and the weekend warrior are invading the campground!

The kids really love the splash park.

It was a quiet day at home and we needed it.

Saturday, June 4, 2016

Today, we entertain my family.
We will be having tacos for supper.

The first to show up are our son Benoit and his boyfriend.  This is the first time we meet Mario and we really like him.

The next to arrive are Lynn and Robert.  They are long time friends, but we only get to visit each other every few years.
Lynn brought a bubbly wine to celebrate our first time camping together.

The rest of the family arrived shortly after.
The meal!  Tacos, easy to make and serve and most people love it.

My sister Estelle.

My brother Rolland.

Benoit telling a story?

The whole gang.

We laughed so much, it was a great day for us, filled with love and happiness!

Sunday June 5, 2016

Last day at Lac Lafontaine campground and it is raining all day!
Lynn and Robert visit us for most of the afternoon.  They invite us for supper at their place.

They have a beautiful Airstream travel trailer.
Lynn cooking,  Robert is supervising?

Lynn and Robert are vegans for the last few years.
I can tell you, the meal was very good.

What do we do when we are with friends and family?
The good and not so good photo.

Thank you Lynn and Robert for the invitation and super meal, it was great to see you again and we had a great time with you the whole weekend.

Thank you to Rolland, his wife Suzie, my sister Estelle and her husband Robert, my sister Christianne and my uncle André and aunt Gisèle for coming this afternoon and evening.

Our favorite youngest son, Benoit and his boyfriend Mario, thank you for coming today.  We love you both.
This is what family is all about!

Tomorrow morning, we have an appointment for some warranty work for the MH at the dealership.  This should be the last time we ever go there hopefully.  We sure hope our experience will be better than the last time!!!

Monday June 6, 2016

We left the Lac Lafontaine Campground at 7:10 this morning.
We are in front of closed gate at 8:10 am, our bad as we did not check the business hours of Cité Caravane.

This is our "new" home for the next five days.
A class "C" with two slides.

A view of the inside.  The slide for the kitchen/living room is not extended.

What we see out the front windshield.

Our MH being repaired.  Funny how we HAD to sign a document telling us to NEVER extend the slides without the leveling jacks extended!
Just look at the MH, not level and the jacks are not extended!!!
I guess if I ever have any problems with our leveling jacks, I can use these photos to get them to fix it under warranty...

They did not start working until 2 pm!
They have until Friday to fix everything.

Tuesday June 7, 2016

No one touched our MH until after lunch!
So far, one day lost!

After lunch, I did the floor inspection with the technician.
All the green tape you see is for ceramic tiles to be replaced..
Forest River, the manufacturer of our MH, does not seems to have any quality control...
32 ceramics will have to be replaced.

Our floor at the end of the day.

We have serious doubts they will be done by Friday!

Wednesday June 8, 2018

The MH we are living was supposedly clean before we got in.
Here is a look at Michele's sleepers, one is clean just like before we moved in and the other is after half a day in the MH!

I am doing some caches this morning.  They are located on a bike/walking trail near Cité Caravane.

On our way to visit my brother, we stopped at the "Carrefour du Nord" mall for good hot-dogs and a poutine.

We are visiting my brother Rolland and his wife, Suzie. We use the time to do laundry.  Suzie is an excellent cook and one again, we had a good meal.

Thank you Suzie and Rolland for having us over.

Back at the dealer, we check out the progress on our MH.  It is moving along.

Thursday June 9, 2016

It got cold last night, down to +10° C, but we were nice and warm in the MH.
What a surprise this morning!  They started to work on our MH first thing in the morning.  We are shocked!

Since we are not doing much during the day, other than checking the repairs on our MH, we decided to go visit Benoit in is new place in Montreal.
We left Cité Caravane after lunch.  We had a great time with Benoit and we forgot to take any photo!!!
We are back in St-Eustache before dinner.  The traffic was not too bad.

Another surprise awaits us when we got back at Cité Caravane, the MH is finally inside the garage to let the glue and grout dry properly!
They have two side cameras to change and fix the electric steps to be done.  Will they be done before 4 pm?
We think they will start at 3 pm to do the two cameras and steps...
We will see!!!

Friday June 10, 2016

I have asked the service manager not to wash the MH before we take possessions.  We have serious doubts they will be done in time.

We are surprised, the MH is ready by 5 pm!
We do a little inspection of the MH.
Of course!  They have to come back and clean the floor they have already cleaned!!!
Some grout is missing, in plain view!!!
Why are we NOT surprised?

I will write our impression/opinions at the end of the day.
We are finally leaving this place for good, hopefully.

Traveling from St-Eustache to Berthierville went pretty good considering the traffic.

With the MH set-up at Manon and Patrice's place, we start talking about anything and everything.
It is good to be here.

Back to our warranty work at Cité Caravane, where we bought the MH last year.
This year, the repairs we actually done compare to last year, so it was 200% better.
Here is what we saw and our opinions.
The technicians are moving between jobs and not completing any of them in time.  Why can't they give a job to a technician and let him finish before he starts another one?  It looks like the workers are in panic to do everything and getting nothing done.  As far as we know, one day was lost in the 5 days they had the MH.  The service manager was surprised when I mentioned it and could not disagree!  They don't have a clue as to what is going on.  We could have had the MH a day earlier and maybe another RV repaired and out the door too!

In the last 6 years we have been traveling and meeting other RVers, we heard horror stories about service after you buy an RV.  So far it seems to be our case.  Maybe the RV industries need to look at quality control or when the Japaneses or Koreans start making RVs, the US manufacturer will go under.  Remember the car industries in the 60s and 70s?

Now the good news.  Unless we "absolutely" have to go back to Cité Caravane, we will do our best NOT to go there again.
On June 18, we will be under our extended warranty.  Some say it is just as bad while other are happy they bought it.  At least we will choose our repair facility.  We will see.

Saturday June 11, 2016

Time to do some maintenance work.
First, wash the bike covers.

Oil changes...
First the generator.  I am spoiling the generator with Royal Purple synthetic oil.

To add oil to the generator and the MH engine, we have to transfer the oil from the 5 liters jug to a smaller container.

With the oil changes done on the generator and the MH, it is the car's turn.

While we are at it, why not Patrice's generator too?

Once again, not easy to fill.

Not too bad, only one drop of oil on the forehead!
OK!  Not true, it has been a while since I was that dirty.

After working so hard, time for a beer!

It is not one of the best photo, but we sure had fun...

We got more done then we expected today...

Sunday June 12, 2016

A nice fall day!  We are out looking for caches in Trois-Rivière.

One of the cache is located near where some old burial ground under the sidewalk.

A nice bench in a park.

This cache was a little hard to find, but in the end, we got it!

A good day with 17 caches found.

Monday June 13, 2016

One more day caching in Trois-Rivières.
A monument in a cemetery.

We had a harvest of 10 caches today, not too bad!.

Supper is almost done!

Tuesday June 14, 2016

The "moving" gods are against me!  Patrice has to move a fridge and a stove to Catherine's apartment in Montréal.  A good thing we bought the "Moving Straps" from Canadian Tire.

The move was not so bad after all.

On our way back from Montreal, we stopped in Repentigny for lunch and finding some caches.
Lunch was at the Fu Lam restaurant.

One cache was camouflage like a pine cone!

This is also the first time I took a "travel bug" from a cache.  What is a travel bug?
Simply put, a Travel Bug is a trackable tag that you attach to an item.  This allows you to track your item on Geocaching.com.  The item becomes a hitchhiker that is carried from cache to cache (or person to person) in the real world and you can follow its progress online.  We are going to drop it off in Saskatchewan.

Michele caught me doing my business in the bush!!!

One other cache was under the skirt of this ???

WOW!  We found 21 caches today.

Wednesday June 15, 2016

It is sunny and hardly any wind, we are going on the pontoon on the St-Pierre Lake.

Manon and Michele taking in the sun while we are on our way to Lake St-Pierre.

Life is Good!

The pros!

Manon and Michele also caught fish.  Michele even caught the biggest one.

We are fishing next to the St-Laurence shipping channel on Lake St-Pierre.
On our way back, it is on the cooler side.

We had a great day on the water.
Thank you Manon and Patrice.

Until next time.

Life is good...
