Tuesday February 16, 2016

After I finished washing the car, we had a nice talk with some RVer from Quebec.

It is a relaxing day at the RV Park.

There is no hockey tonight, Manon and Patrice are playing bingo with us.

No luck for us, but Patrice wins with someone else on one bingo.

Wednesday February 17, 2016

We are back in Lehigh for more geocaching.
For this cache, we walked 1.6 km return and did not even find it!

We did look for some caches with the truck, but we did the rest on bike.

We biked a little less than 10 km and found 12 caches.

Thursday February 18, 2016

What?
Another day doing nothing!

This is happiness!

Friday February 19, 2016

It is Manon and Patrice's turn to go visit friends and family on the East Coast of Florida.
Drive safe!

We are all alone!

Patrice and Manon are doing the same thing we did, they will be doing some geocaching on their way east and on the way back.

Saturday February 20, 2016

This morning we are on the road to visit our friends Manon and Jean in Port Charlotte.
We have not seen them in 3 years.
We make a long detour to find more caches.
This road looks like the Canadian Prairies...

We do not have our "geo-eyes" with us.
We did not find 5 out of 14 caches.

You have got to love palm trees along a road!

We arrive at our friend's RV Park in Port Charlotte, Harbor Lakes, at around 2 pm.

We have to take the traditional good and crazy photo with our friends Manon and Jean.

We left Manon and Jean after a very good spaghetti at around 9:30ish.
We had a lot to talk about and catch up to all the news about each other.
We are very happy to have come for a visit with them.

Sunday February 21, 2016

A relaxing morning for me, with my breakfast over, I went and did laundry.
I was surprised, there was nobody else doing laundry.
With the laundry done, I work on the next update for the blog.

After a short trip at the grocery store, we drop by the pool for a while.

One of the boat that goes by while we are in the pool.  I was wondering why the tower?

Here is what I found on the net about the tower.  The tower is basically a spotting tower for boat out on the coast.  They look for school of fish (certain species of fish) and go fishing in the right spot.

Monday February 22, 2016

Michele is back from the hairdresser.  Looking good!

By about 2:30h, Patrice and  Manon are back from visiting their friends and family.
Patrice came to say "Hi" while Manon is at home unpacking.

Just before we went to the pool, Michele offered to cut Patrice's hair and mine.

Michele and I spend about 1:30h at the pool while Patrice and Manon stayed home to recuperate from their trip east.

Tuesday February 23, 2016

On our way to Costco, but first, a quick stop at the Bass Pro Shops.

Patrice dreaming of a pontoon boat.

We love the door handles!

The inside of the Bass Pro Shops is always spectacular!

We even saw an aquarium with the local fish population.

Patrice is not afraid of alligators!

After some purchase at the Costco, we made it back home for a good supper.
We were quick with our supper because we want to go play bingo.
Patrice won the door price ($5), I won a bingo ($25), Michele also won a bingo with two other players ($3).
Manon only had the pleasure to be with us!

A good day.

Wednesday February 25, 2016

We are having poutine for lunch today.
French fries, cheese and St-Hubert sauce.  Hummmm!

The rain came down all afternoon.
Manon and Patrice's neighbour is back from wherever, but he must have hit the big live oak on the way in!
He broke is big awning and the slide awning.  WOW!

Here is a photo of the live oak he hit.

We skyped with Benoit, our favorite youngest son!!!

Michele finished her luggage for her trip to Moose Jaw.

Thursday February 25, 2016

The alarm clock woke us up at 4:45 am.
Michele's flight is leaving at 7:30 am, but as everyone know, you have to be there one hour before the flight...
Michele's flight is leaving from Fort Myers Airport.
The photo on the left is from the morning and the one on the right is from the web.
It is a small airport.

Once I dropped off Michele, I did a little shopping and made it back to Labelle and a burger at McDonald.
While at McDonald, I saw this semi full of oranges going to be turned into orange juice.

Manon, Patrice and I return to Lehigh for some more geocaching.
We saw this big turtle running for her nest.

This is the first time we see a cache like this one.

There is this one cache we could not find about a week ago.
We are back to look for it again!  We did not find it!!!
While looking for another cache, we came across another couple caching.  We talk to them about the "hard" cache and they gave us some hints about the cache (Open Space 3).  We headed back to the cache and sure enough we found it... by chance!

We found 16 caches and rode our bikes for 12 km.

During the evening, I received a text msg from Jeremy telling me that Michele made it to Moose Jaw in one piece .

Friday February 26, 2016

Oups!  No photo today!
We are back in Lehigh to look for more caches.
We rode for 10 km and found 11 caches.
When we got back home, we went to the pool for a while before supper ...

Saturday February 27, 2016

This Saturday and Sunday is the "Swamp Cabbage Festival".  It is the 50th year of the festival.
What is a swamp cabbage?  It is a palm tree, the sabal.
This morning is the BIG parade downtown and it is a long parade!
There was a lot of people at the parade.
Looking south and north.

Any good parade has to have cops on motorcycles!

There are those weird looking truck in the parade.  They ride in the everglades.

Even the Department of Forestry has one!

A drone was filming the parade.

The Budweiser Clydesdale team.

Some small tractors for the pulling contest.

Superheroes, can you see Capitan America, Superwoman, Spiderman and Batman?

The real superheroes.

The Americans are in love with those rubber band tires.

A typical house in the everglades.

Labelle is a farming town and you have to have belts - buckles and hats.

We really liked the parade.
At the festival, there was a lot of stalls with food and other things for sale.  We had lunch at the festival.
Once we are back home, we slowly continue getting ready for when we leave Labelle on Tuesday.

Sunday February 28, 2016

I continue getting ready for Tuesday.  Usually, I do the stuff outside and Michele does the stuff inside.
It probably sounds sexist, but it works for us!
I do know what to do inside the motorhome before traveling, but the inside is not my strongest point.

I am invited for supper next door.
Thank you Robert and Linda for a good time and good food.
I hope our path will cross again in the future.

Almost ready for Tuesday when we leave Labelle.

Monday February 29, 2016

The sun is shinning.  We are in the pool for a while.
Patrice is explaining something to Manon.

The three of us, we miss Michele.

A last look at the Calousahatchee River!
Can you see the blue heron?

The pool we are leaving behind.  It was a good thing the pool was indoor because the last two months were not the warmest at time.

The river!

Tomorrow we hit the road.

Until next time.

Life is good...
