Jérémy is always finding stuff for us to do. I think, he is
trying
to get as much done as possible before we leave. I can't complain
because I like it!
Today's project is to tear down the shed. The bees are starting
to build a nest.
The Pros at work!
The only recycling done is the 2X4s.
A little tug and the whole roof falls down for easy tear down of the
roof.
When Jérémy re-did his roof a few years back, he had some leftover
silicone. So he drew a stick man for the neighbor's kid to look
at.
Cutting down to pieces.
The floor was very well-built, it made us work hard, but we did it!
Trimming the large pieces to fit in the trailer for the dump run next
Tuesday.
A very busy afternoon.
We spent the evening at the theater for the play, "The Great
Tuna". We liked this play.
Thursday May 17, 2012
We had some pretty strong winds last night. Lots of "stuff" fell
off the trees.
Have a look!
A good thing it is not sticky.
Tonight we are back at the theater for a musical play, "The Last
5 Years". Not the kind of play we like.
All the plays for the festival were followed by an adjudicator who did
a quick 10 minutes talk after each plays. We stayed for all 3 of
them and really enjoyed them. We learned a lot from her comments.

A beautiful day, so off to Nanaimo we go. Nanaimo is about 1 hour
and half from Comox.
Going down Ryan Road, you can see the Comox glacier on the right side
of the photo.
In Fanny Bay we saw some seals, we had to visit...
Nanaimo, here we come!
After some shopping, we are back on the road to Comox.
A small fishing boat at rest.
We ended the day with a camp fire.
Sunday May 20, 2012
Today is "Baby Shower" for Gabriel.
First we stopped at Jérémy's place and he showed us his
"quadcopter". It does fly!
The Baby Shower is taking place at grandmother Julie's place.
One full Gabriel.
Some of the Baby Shower's gift.
Gabriel is totally oblivious to all this...
After his belly is full, Danielle's cousin, Stephanie, enjoys Gabriel.
We were having a great time and we forgot to take some photos of the
visiting family!
Lucky me, Danielle sent me a photo of her grandmother Broen.
Really nice people.

Woke up to rain. Boring day for today?
The sun showed up in the afternoon. I took a nice long walk to
Air Forces Beach.
Some of the berry bushes are coming along and I hope we will have a
chance to taste some of them before we leave...
Tuesday May 22, 2012
Today we are off to Coombs to visit the old market "
Goats
on the Roof".
On our way to pick up Julie and Marie, we came across those two
deers. They are small, but they are actually full grown.
After we picked up Danielle's two grandmothers, we are on our way to
Coombs and the goats...
Can you see the goats on the roof?
The goats on the roof is a little market with small cozy boutiques.
Of course the market has stuff from all over the world, from China to
Japan and Africa and more.
On the left photo, Michèle and Marie and on the right photo, Julie and
Marie, both grandmothers of Danielle
We had just a light drizzle, nothing to worry about!
Some more photos of the market.
A really neat place to visit.
Jérémy and Gabriel came for a visit in the evening.
Another beautiful week.
Wednesday May 23, 2012
We are invited at grandmother Julie for dinner. Burgers and corn
on the cub.
One of the campers just installed this monster. Cute!
Michèle with grandmother Marie.
Grandmother Julie looking at her "cleaned up" laptop. She is very
happy with her laptop now that me and Danielle did some house keeping
for her.
Jérémy brought his quadcopter.
Here, he is flying his "contraption". He is very careful because
he is in his first few hours with this quadcopter.
Gabriel really likes to sleep in this position.
From L to R, grandmother Marie, mother Colleen, Danielle, Gabriel
(hiding) and grandmother Julie.
Denis, Jérémy, Danielle, Gabriel and Michèle.
One very happy and proud grandfather!
A really nice dinner in very good companies.
Thursday and Friday, May 24 and 25, 2012
Two very relaxed days.
We spent Friday mostly reading, walking and enjoying the warm weather.
Late afternoon we stated a campfire and enjoyed it until 10 pm.
Friday is another warm day (+23), wow!
Off we go to see the ferry on our bicycles. We forgot to take a
photo of the ferry! We even went to Jérémy's place, but Jérémy
and Danielle were leaving for some shopping. Very nice bicycle
ride.
A beautiful yellow flower. But very un-desirable plant, it is
taking over the native plants. It's pollen is very hard on human.
Jérémy and Gabriel were here for a while in the afternoon.
On May 12th, I had modified a garburator for the purpose of emptying my
black water tank.
We finally took some photos of the garburator in use.
On the first photo, I am pointing at where the black water (toilet)
comes in and on the second photo, I am pointing at the exit where the
"modified" black water comes out.
On the garburator is plugged in you can see the results going into the
"Honey Wagon".
On the right, towing the honey wagon to the dump station.
I am going to re-visit the setup of the garburator and see if I can
make it better.
A nice and warm day, I am under the awning surfing the web with my
laptop plugged in my 24" TV. Nice!
Ah life is sooo good!
Saturday May 26, 2012
Grandmother Julie likes going to yard sales and so do we. We
spent the morning "yard saleing".
I spent some time in the afternoon modifying my garburator. I
shortened the incoming hose for a faster and more direct intake on the
garburator. I also relocate the position of the exit pipe to make
it more streamlined.
Next time I use it, I will take more photos.
Michèle reading a book!
After dinner, Jérémy, Danielle and Gabriel came for a visit and stayed
for a few hours. What a pleasure it is to have them with us.
Another warm day in good companies.
Sunday June 27 to Tuesday 29, 2012
Three days of nice warm weather, time to go back to +16 with clouds and
wind...
Sunday morning Jérémy takes us to the local flea market. 12
tables total, very small and we made no purchases.
Back at the campground, I went for a walk and noticed the little
berries are starting to ripen.
Monday the contractors are at Jérémy and Danielle's place to change the
cupboards. I spent the afternoon keeping company to Jérémy while
Danielle and Gabriel are at grandmother Julie.
Tuesday morning, my neighbor Jim is cutting his grass and offers me his
lawnmower if I needed it! I take it.
Cutting grass was not in my plans, but hey! In some area the
grass is very long. I do not miss looking after a yard...
Jérémy calls me and tells me he would like company while he is changing
the brakes on grandmother Julie's car. I will take this time to
change mine too.
Two highly qualified technicians wondering what to do?
Shann stopped for a visit.
Ouff! Concentration!
I did some work too, not just supervising...
Later on, I built a campfire to help burn the grass I cut today.
Wednesday, Thursday May 30 and 31, 2012
CFHA, who is the agency looking after the military housing on base, is
doing an upgrade in Jérémy and Danielle's kitchen. They are
replacing the
very old
kitchen cabinets with
almost
new/slightly used kitchen cabinets (results of the latest budget
cuts?). Even those are a BIG improvement from the very old
one they had.
Why I am telling you this? Because of that, Danielle and Gabriel
are spending the days at grandmother Julie's place while Jérémy stay
at home so the contractors are not left alone in the house. We
come and spend a few hours with Jérémy every day so he does not get too
bored...
Today, Michèle is staying at Jérémy's place with the contractors.
Jérémy and me are going to bottled the wine I bought a month ago.
Michèle saying goodbye...
I purchased my wine kits at "
Grape Expectation". This place is one that
permits brewing on premises for a reasonable fee.
They look after almost everything, from the start up to the
bottling. They even give you a hand during bottling.
Here I am disinfecting the wine bottles. Jérémy shrinking the
plastic jacket over the cork.
Michelle, one of the employee at Grape Expectation, is helping us by
operating the wine filtering system and the automatic corker.
The three of us bottled over 55 bottles of wine in about one hour.
Once bottling is done, you don't have to clean the equipment, they do
it for you!
For the extra cost of brewing on premises, it is really worth the extra
money.
My cost per bottle,
including purchasing new bottles, only $4.89 per wine bottle. If
you already have your bottles, only $3.89 per bottle. Those cost
are approximate.
Incredible!
In a few weeks, I will let you know how the wine turns out.
Until next time.
Life is good...
