After almost a month waiting for our motorhome windshield, it has
arrived in
Trenton.
If you ever want a windshield replaced, don't go where we went... (no
name) because they sure took their time and you almost have to be at
the store to get things moving or it just seems to ... not move at
all. But the work was well done. but even that took a very long
time.
We are on our way to the glass place in Trenton.
In the Quinte area, you have lots of little conservation area with
trails.
Friday morning, I did a little 4 km trail in this conservation
area. Nice!
You just never know what you are going to find at the next bend of the
tail.
Like this neat little puppet dog on a branch!
A view of the pool from our motorhome.
With a nice +30 C, time to go in the pool.
Our friends from North Carolina gave us this nice hammock and this is
the first time we use it.
So far we love it!
Nothing like a good campfire. We had one almost every evening.
One afternoon, we took a little walk in the town of Stirling.
You can see half of the main street, yes it is a small town!
But it does have a theater with plays all year long.
When we will be back in the fall, hopefully, we will come a see a play
here.
I just love this sign in front of a Pizza place!
Our first wild turkeys...
A nice week we had...
Wednesday to Saturday, June 8 to the 11,
2011
A hot and humid day!
Shortly after supper, I started a fire. Looking out west, I
noticed the very dark could.
We just had time to close the awning when the wind hit with lots of
rain.
A few trees fell that night. The following day, I took a walk to check
out what had happened.
One of the big trees fell on a 5th wheel but did not do too much
damage. But...
The Camaro that was parked at the site... A lot of deep scratches and
many dents...
We were pretty lucky because nothing happened to us other then our bike
cover took off on us. We saw it and picked it up right away.
Friday
Leaving Ontario to Québec. Saint-Jérôme more precisely.
First, we have to stop at the garage to get the scan on the engine of
the motorhome to find out why one of the warning lights on the dashboard
is coming on
intermittently. Well! As we have seen before... They could not get
the scan tool to work... I was not even surprised!
We left Belleville at around 9 am.
Highway 401 is nice, but not as nice as it used to be.
We are at our first unscheduled "stop" before Kingston. Half an
hour at 5km/h.
Welcome to Québec!
This information center is by far the best we have seen since our
travel started. Other provinces and States should come here to
learn how it should be done, in both official languages.
Second unofficial "stop". 20 minutes at a very slow speed.
Montreal was easy to go through even with lots of traffic.
Finally at the Lac Lafontaine campground.
I think the outhouse is pretty neat...
With a small lake. This is mostly a seasonal campground.
Our site, number 351 for a few weeks.
We will have to move 2 more times so we can stay until July 8th.
I just love the idea to have a fire pit by a big rock!
Saturday
Benoit called us to confirm he was off on Sunday for my mom's birthday
party.
We picked him up on Saturday evening after work. He will be spending
the night
with us.
We had a great time together!
Sunday to Wednesday, June 12
to the
15, 2011
Benoit is with us...and since we were in Florida for Christmas, we
could
not send him his Christmas gift, to expensive to mail.
Here is Benoit with his Christmas 2010 gift!
We love him but hey! A box of Skittles and a $1,000,000.00
American dollars is good enough for him! LOL!
Sunday is my Mom's birthday. We are all invited to Christianne's place
for supper to celebrate Mom's birthday.
She turns 85 today, she is getting her gift from my brother
Rolland. Mom is very happy to see all her kids present for her
birthday.
Mom with her new "boyfriend", Mister Achille, a very nice man!
The whole family...
Christianne prepared a very nice meal for the occasion.
You got to have a birthday cake or it wouldn't be a birthday!
We are all very happy to be together for Mom's birthday. Estelle, one
of my sisters.
A great time was had by all.
Tuesday
We bought 2 new outdoor carpets for the motorhome.
No! I did not lose weight, this is just my "beach look".
I really like the rock as a backdrop for the fireplace.
Wednesday
Christianne had a very good idea for today. We took mom and Mr. Achille
to the mall.
We had lunch and did some light shopping!
Wednesday is the Stanley Cup game between the Vancouver Canucks and the
Boston Bruins. Michele can't miss this, but we can not get TV
where we are because of too many trees. We invited ourselves to
my sister's place. Michele and Robert got to watch the game
while my sister and I did the talking in the kitchen...
Everyone is happy!
