Thursday, September 1 to Tuesday, September 6,2011

Last morning at Manon and Patrice's place. We are on our way to Estelle's place in the Notre-Dame-Du-Bon-Conseil.

Manon prepared a big breakfast for us.

Patrice got back from work just in time to wave us goodbye.

Thank you so much for your hospitality. We will miss you.

Before we head to Notre-Dame-Du-Bon-Conseil, we have to "dump" our used water.

From Berthierville to Notre-Dame-Du-Bon-Conseil, we take Highway 40 to Trois-Rivière and cross the St-Lawrence to Notre-Dame-Du-Bon-Conseil. We could have taken the ferry between St-Ignace and Sorel and saved 1 hour, but the ferry is pretty steep to get on with our "low" motorhome. The road is great with very little construction.

Once the motorhome is set up at Estelle's place, I install our internet for the first time since we got the new modem.
Everything works fine on the first try.

Estelle talked a lot about the "cottage" they have here. Let me tell you, it is a great place, quiet, green and no traffic. Here are some photos of the place and Robert's family.

A special day today. We are heading to Granby to visit a friend from my teenage years, Odette.
We met Odette's partner in life, Marc. We spent the afternoon talking about the past and some of the future. Time flies and we have to get back home. Another great moment with lots of memories floating in my head.
We will visit again when we come back this way.

Monday and Tuesday, September 5 and 6, 2011

Monday and Tuesday are rainy days.

Monday, Estelle and Robert are going back home in St-Jérome.
We are alone in this great place until Wednesday.
With the rain, we are spending our time reading, TV and the internet.

Leaving the "cottage".
Lucky for us that the rain stopped yesterday. We would have left some pretty deep tracks with the motorhome.

We really enjoyed this place.

Our next destination is the campground Lac Lafontaine in St-Jérome. But first, a choice has to be made. With all the construction and delay in Montreal, we chose to do a detour by Trois-Rivière instead of driving through Montreal.
This detour added an hour of driving, but saved us the stress and the possibility of being stuck in traffic in Montreal.

Back in St-Jerome. Site 249 for a week.

Once installed, we head back toward Laval to pick up Benoit at the Metro station. Benoit is spending the night with us.
Estelle, Christianne, Rolland and Suzie came by for a visit. Boy did we laughed.

After the company is gone, we play around with the camera...

WOW! What an evening!

I am converting a power supply for Benoit's TV.
It did not work, but when Michele tried, it worked. She is good!

Time to take Benoit back to his place, he has to work tomorrow.

Yesterday, I spent the day helping Rolland cut firewood. After that, we had supper at André and Giselle's place. And I forgot to take some photos!!!

Today, we take it easy, a good book, good wine and a campfire!

And we finish this day with a nice cheese fondue

A little shopping with my two sisters at the flea market.

Following shopping, we visit Rolland's home...

Brothers and sisters being serious and not so serious ...

Myself, my brother and two sisters decided to have a nice meal together. We also used this time to discuss some arrangements for mom.

Once the serious stuff is over, time for the meal. We sure did have a great time together talking about all kinds of stuff. Sorry for the not so clear photos of us, but the waiter took the photo. We did the drinking and he is the one taking bad photos...

Another easy day. We had supper at Rolland and Suzie's place. Actually, we are at the condo they live in until their house is fixed from the almost fire.

A really good meal, but me and Rolland were still tired from last evening, so it was early to bed.

Last day in the area, for a while. I use this time to visit my dad in the cemetery

A useful (or useless) piece of info...
The fence around the cemetery was build by my uncle Albert. That summer (1975ish), I worked for him for a few weeks and I did the painting of the fence before it was installed.

Our last visit with mom. We went shopping and had lunch.

We spent a few very good hours with mom.

Back at the motorhome, I started on some preparation for travelling tomorrow. I was stopped 3 times because of thunderstorms.

Wednesday and Thursday, September 14 and 15, 2011

On our way to Ontario.
One last look at the little Lake at the camping Lac Lafontaine.

We left at about 8 30 am, no problems with the roads other than some small construction area.

In the 1000 Island area, the Thousand Island Parkway parallels the 401 for about 30 km.
A very nice road to take with many views of the St-Lawrence. It only adds about 5 minutes to the whole trip.

We decided to stay at Walmart for one night so we can go "shopping" for our campground for the next month or so.

Well! We found one. A little far from Belleville, but nice. The North Shore RV Park.
