1 to 15 August 2024   16 to 31 August 2024

Friday, August 16, 2024.

This is the salmon in the brine I made this morning. It is made of half brown sugar and kosher salt.
It will marinate for 3 hours.

After three hours, I rinse and pat them dry, and I let them air dry for two hours.

By the time Jeremy gets back from work, it is time to start smoking. We baste the salmon with maple syrup every hour.

Michele and I have talked about what to do with the MH. We will take it back and use it, but we still have a for sale sign on it. We will put the trailer up for sale once we have the MH back in our possession.

Family fun on the trampoline.

Natasha is back in the trailer tonight.

Saturday, August 17, 2014.

Natasha woke up at 6.45 this morning. Super!
She is always happy when she wakes up.

We went to play at the school playground this morning. With a snack, of course.

Natasha and grand-maman are good buddies.

After a very busy morning, a nap is a welcome time for all.

Today being Saturday, it is sleepover time.

Sunday to Thursday, August 18 to 22, 2024

The weather has been rainy. Not much has happened.
Here are some photos from Natasha's daycare.

Friday, August 23, 2024.

We are taking our MH back from the dealership. It will stay here until we move the trailer to the storage on Monday. We use this time to start moving our stuff from the trailer to the MH.

Surprise, later in the day, we started to notice some damages from the dealership inside the MH. They were not careful when they closed the slides, and one door was open, damaged the trimming on two slides.

Even if I go and tell them what happen, all they will say is "you sign the paper saying no damage and the damage was probably done when YOU open the slides".

Saturday, August 24, 2024.

Today is the Comox Valley Exhibition at the Ex-ground. Jeremy, Natasha and I are going.
This is mainly for Natasha.

The face painting booth is very attracting for Natasha.

The lady doing the painting is very good with kids. Natasha chose a mermaid for her painting.

We watched The Lumberjack Show.

They are good and the show was also humorous.

Ouch !

The petting zoo was a hit with Natasha.

This is the last night Natasha is having in the trailer.

She is having fun with grand-maman.

Sunday, August 25, 2024.

Jeremy and I are back on the water by 6 am.
One hour later, I caught a coho salmon and Jeremy a rock fish.

A little later, Jeremy caught a lingcod.
The small fillets are from the rock fish and the bigger ones are from the lingcod. The salmon will be filleted and frozen.

Jeremy and Natasha are at Point Holmes to dump the fish guts in the ocean.
We are watching them from the Point Holmes website camera.

Our supper is a feast of rock fish and lingcod. I can tell you, it was good.

Natasha all dressed up.

Moving from the trailer back to the MH is done.

Natasha found some hats Michele had stored in the trailer.

Once again, and maybe for the last time, Ed is here to move the trailer back to the storage place. In less than 40 minutes, it was all done, and we were back home. Thanks Ed.

After we got back, we placed the MH back in the driveway. Now we have to place our stuff back in the right place in the MH like before.

Natasha did not go to daycare today, she is sick.

Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Natasha asked to sleep in the MH. Sure! This is a new adventure for her. She did not remember last summer when she slept in the MH.

She helps me build the cot she will be sleeping on.

She is good at helping, and she pays attention to what she has to do.

This is our moment when we read a story together before bedtime.

Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

Poor Natasha, she is still sick and staying home.

But! We still take her outside. She only coughs when she gets excited.
Since we are good grandparents, we make her run in a field to make her tired.

She is so easy to put to bed.

Jeremy went fishing with his friend Mike. Fishing has been good. This is the same Ling-cod, just different angles.

Some orcas even came closer to them.

Jeremy kept the two they caught.

Thursday, August 29, 2029.

I cooked some ribs tonight. I even smoked them.

They must have been good, very few were left.

Friday, August 30, 2024.

Kristin finished her course in Borden. She is on her way back home.
Natasha gave her the stuffy so she would not be lonely in Borden.

Natasha is waiting for her mom to come home.

Saturday, August 31, 2024.

When she jumps on the trampoline, her hair ends up like this. It is so funny looking.

She is one busy little girl.

It was a good week.

End of our web page

After sharing our travels and our lives with you over the past fourteen years, we have decided to move our blog to Facebook. Since our seasonal stay in Yuma and our summer stay in Comox, there are fewer topics to share with you. There will be fewer updates, but they will be more focused on activities and places we will visit and less on our family. Updates will be less frequent but more focused.

If you wish to continue following us on Facebook, please send us an email at the following address: blogfb@michele-denis.com, and we will add you as "friends" on our Facebook page, "Michele and Denis." (I am still building it.) The blog will be private, meaning that only invited individuals will be able to access the content. Furthermore, you will have the option to add comments if you wish.

We will be delighted to see you on our Michele and Denis page on Facebook.

Until next time.

Life is good...

Michele et Denis.
