The base is having a military housing wide yard sale today and tomorrow.
We arrive at Jeremy's place at 8 o'clock.
We have to wait a few minutes for Natasha's nail polish to dry before we head out.
The weather forecast called for rain this morning. The sun is out.
People only started to get ready for the yard sale by 9 ish, so we missed a few. We still bought a few items.
Natasha has her sleepover with us tonight. We will pick her up after the nap.
Natasha loves the campground. She was looking for bugs.
It did not take long for the rain to start.
Grand-maman bought a mask for when we go to the beach. She will try it in the bath tonight.
Those two...
Yes, we are having chicken nuggets again tonight.
Sunday, June 2, 2024.
Natasha had her breakfast, then she had part of mine and some of grand-maman!
It looks like rain for the day. The weather will be crappy until Thursday at least.
The rain and wind comes from the ocean and it is very windy.
But on the other side of the trailer. On the other side, hardly any wind.
Jeremy picked up Natasha somewhere around 10. It was an indoor day for us.
Monday, June 3, 2024
I helped the park owner to remove the grass and weeds from our site.
It looks much better now.
Michele is looking after Natasha at the house. Jeremy is working
evenings. Once Jeremy gets back from work, she will come back to the
trailer.
As for me, I stayed at the trailer. I watched some TV and read my book, Shogun.
We are under a wind advisory (70 à 90 km/h).
It is very noisy inside because of the wind in the trees and the waves on the beach.
The walls of a trailer are very thin.
Tuesday, June 4, 2024.
Benoit and I had coffee/video chat this morning. As usual, we talked for about an hour. I love those moments.
I had to rinse the side of the trailer. It was covered with salt
stains. The wind was coming from the ocean, and when the waves hit the
shore and break, the wind carries the mist a long way inland.
Just before lunch, I went to Jeremy's place to wait for my laptop delivery.
I was repaired under warranty.
It was delivered just before lunch.
It is working perfectly.
Jeremy is working evening again. We look after Natasha at the house.
It is his last day of work for a week.
Natasha is so easy to look after. She loves make-up and biking.
She is sending her love to mom in Borden, Ontario. Kristin is on a course for about 7 weeks.
Kristin returning her love to Natasha.
I am with Michele at the house. Once Natasha is in bed, I update my laptop.
Jeremy was done work later today.
Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
We slept in this morning. Jeremy is not working for the next week.
We will not see Natasha today.
My morning walk takes me to Point Holmes.
A school class is taking place at a "tide pool".
What a great classroom.
I did not know which of the two photos was the best, so I placed both of them.
Jeremy and Kristin had a big cold a few weeks ago.
Michele
decided to continue the cold (a joke). On our last visit at the doctor,
he said it was not pneumonia and in 10 days it should be over. It has
been over 10 days now. It is time to go hard at it. She is taking
antibiotics now We got those from Mexico last winter.
Thursday, June 6, 2024.
Yes, our lives are mostly about walks, looking after Natasha and soon fishing. We are not complaining.
This air is clear this morning. We can see the mountains clearly.
Jeremy has Bingo at the club this evening. He is going with friends and coworkers.
We are looking after Natasha at the trailer.
It is time to make some bubbles. She is trying to burst them with the "pincher".
It is her turn to make bubbles.
As long as she is busy, life is good.
She makes us laugh.
Friday, June 7, 2024.
Hummm, she was awake at 5 h 15 this morning. It was way too early.
She falls back to sleep with us in our bed.
Here she is ready for daycare.
Saturday, June 8, 2024.
Yesterday we bought two used automatic/manual inflatable PDF from
FB Marketplace. The bad part, is that they are about one hour away from
here. New they are worth $250 each. We paid $120 for both.
Photo ici. X J'ai pas la photo encore!
The seller also had a prawn trap with accessories for only $10. Just the trap is worth $100. We took it.
Photo ici. X
Jeremy named the boat "Ti-Bateau", which means "small boat".
It is passed 4 pm when we put arrive at Holmes Point and put the boat in the water.
Once on the Holmes Point website, click on the video and you will see the boat launch live.
Natasha is fishing with us. This trip is mostly to tray the boat and motor. We now have a new propeller.
Natasha is pretty good for a 4 years old. She is casting her line like a pro.
Surprise! She catches a fish before we even got our line in the water. He fish got away just before it got to the boat.
The boat launch is behind me.
I no time, Jeremy caught a fish too. Natasha does not like it at all.
The two motor operators.
With this boat, we can go a lot further out. We still have to be careful about the weather. The ocean can be capricious.
The forecast calls for light winds. The view of the mainland.
And the view of Vancouver Island.
I caught a fish and Natasha is helping me reel it in.
I caught a sole. It is not big enough to keep.
Cool!
Michele came to Holmes Point to meet us at the boat launch. It is only 1,5 km away or less from the campground.
We are the little black dot on the horizon in the center of the photo.
We are done fishing.
We came back empty-handed, but with a smile.
Natasha enjoyed her time in the boat.
Back at the campground, Michele and I had a nice campfire.
It was a good day.
Sunday, June 9, 2024.
It was just a regular day at the trailer.
But, for supper, we went to Jeremy's place to cook the salmon we bought a few days ago at a discounted price at Walmart.
Monday, June 10, 2024
Jeremy and I went fishing at Point Holmes it was around 8:15h. The
weather forecast calls for increasing wind late in the morning.
We are using the down riggers for the first time. You have to use those if you are fishing for salmons.
The wind picked up earlier than expected. We are back at the boat launch by 9:30h.
Jeremy caught a small ling-cod. It was too small to keep.
Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
The wind even picked up more through the night. I even had to close the awning in the middle of the night.
Michele was not lucky today. She was out shopping at the local thrift
stores when a power outage happens in the city. Many thrift stores and
groceries stores were closed.
This is what happens when you leave your daughter without
supervision while painting, even for a minute or two. She ended up with
blue hands.
I mentioned earlier that we bought a prawn trap. Here it is.
Jeremy and I went for a walk at the Comox Marina to check out if we could fish from the docks.
Yes, we could.
Can you see the seal sleeping in the water?
Here he is.
We are having supper at Jeremy's place. We are having salmon.
But first, some action on the trampoline with Natasha.
Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
Jeremy is mountain biking in Cumberland.
I went with him, but it is hiking for me. A short hike to the China Bowls.
Jeremy is riding on bike trails. I am walking on a gravel road.
I see a lot of flowers by the road.
Perseverance Creek.
We are at the entrance of the China Bowls, looking towards the bridge.
The China Bowls were created by erosion.
The name China Bowls comes from the creek was once named China Creek.
A few photos of the bowls.
After the China Bowls.
I hiked 5 km today.
Michele has physio today. She is not feeling much better. The
physiotherapist gave her more exercise. He wants to see her in two
weeks.
Natasha is with us tonight.
We are having fun with bubbles.
It sure seems like we only eat Tacos when Natasha is with us!
You have to keep the routine, brush your teeth before bed.
Grand-maman bought some wall-stickers for her bedroom.
Thursday, June 13, 2024.
We have a busy day ahead of us today.
First, we are going for a hike at the Hole In The Wall.
Grand-maman keeps Natasha busy as we drove to the hike location.
It is a nice trail.
A banana slug on our path. Yes, they are that big.
Here is the Hole In The Wall.
At one time, a large water pipe
was going through this wall. Once it was removed, erosion took its
course and made this big hole.
Rogers Creek.
It is impressive to look at the rock formation.
Natasha enjoys the water and the sun.
Walking uphill to get to the car.
We are parked at the Coombs County Candy store. It is time for a treat.
Our next stop, the village of Coombs.
A quick stop at the local Dutch store.
The classic wooden shoe...
We made a stop at the Square and the statues for Natasha.
She is trying to look like the Buddha.
This is one hard saddle.
A good lunch at the local burger joint.
Natasha has ice cream with her lunch.
Now it is time for the Goats On The Roof.
Natasha is worn out.
We still have another activity to go too.
A little colouring before we go look at the butterflies.
They have a pond with some turtles. The water is not very clear and we cannot see anything.
It sure was a busy day.
Friday, June 14, 2024.
It was a lazy day.
Saturday, June 15, 2024.
Michele finally went to all the thrift stores. Me, I worked on the next update for the web page.
Being Saturday, Natasha is having a sleepover with us.
But first, she went to a birthday party at the splash park. Jeremy said it was very cold.
The weather forecast called for rain, wind, no wind and more wind in the morning.
Michele picked up Natasha after her nap.
We played at our playground.
We had a good supper.
A good desert.
She ate so much for supper, when he snack arrived, she hardly ate any.
