Jeremy is working this morning. Natasha is not going to daycare because today is a holiday in Canada.
She is spending the day with us.
We are on our way to the red park (playground).
Natasha is wearing her red dress for Canada Day.
I guess even the doll likes the swing.
Natasha has been talking about a tea party for a few days now.
Today is the day we have a tea party. She loves it.
She is dressing two dolls just like mommy and daddy when they got married.
She is one happy little girl.
We had another feast of salmon for supper.
Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
Jeremy is supposed to work days all week. He is in charge of a landing gear inspection and repairs on the Aurora.
She loves coloring.
This is our supper, Italian sausages. I found on the internet that if
you use shish kebab sticks in the sausages, they will remain straight
and not curl as they cook. It works!
As I was cooking the sausages, a baby grouse came by!
I showed the baby grouse to Natasha, and we let it be for the night.
Maybe the mom will come back to take care of the baby.
Natasha's favorite meal.
Jeremy did not finish work too late after supper.
Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
Summer is here, finally. The temperature is warming up nicely.
Natasha loves the trampoline, especially with the sprinkler underneath it.
Jeremy's neighbors moved out last week.
Their backyard has a cherry tree. The cherries are ripe, and they taste good.
Thursday, July 4, 2024.
Natasha woke up later than usual. Jeremy could not take her to
daycare. No problems, I will take her to daycare when we are ready.
We picked up her dress, but she could not see the bow on the back. I had to take a picture so I could show her the bow.
This is a photo the daycare sends. They always send pictures of what they are doing during the day.
Jeremy is in the cherry tree, picking more cherries.
When I said summer was here, this is what I meant.
Friday, July 5, 2024.
It was kind of a weird morning, with only one thing planned. Just
Michele's appointment at the hospital for her mammogram. By the way,
this hospital is new, and even the parking is free!!!
Everyone we came across looked happy to be working there.
At the same time, Jeremy was supposed to be fishing at Kitty Coleman, but the waves were too big.
He
sends me a message telling me he is going to Point Holmes to fish. After
Michele's appointment, we rush back home so I can join him at Point
Holmes. Surprise! When we get home, he is still at home. Off I go
fishing with him. Point Holmes has a lot fewer waves. The fish are not
biting as much as at Kitty Coleman. I caught a small sculpin and a
very small sole.
Jeremy caught this nice size sculpin. It is a very tasty fish, but so ugly. We did not keep it.
After being on the water for a while, we headed back to the boat
launch. It is a very low tide today, and we cannot get the boat out.
What should we do? We get back on the water and head towards Goose Spit
just to look around. We will come back in an hour, and the tide will
have gone up by a foot or more.
We traveled by the Comox Bar.
The town of Comox is in the distance.
We continued to the Shipwreck of Royston. They are used a breakwater.
As you can see, we are at low tide.
Back at the boat launch, we could get the boat out of the water.
After supper, Jeremy, Natasha, and grand-maman went to Point Holmes so Natasha could play on the beach.
The following photos are from the live cam at Point Holmes. You can see the boat launch under water.
In the first photo, Jeremy and Grand-maman are sitting on a log, and Natasha is throwing rocks in the water.
In the second photo, Jeremy and Natasha are on the ramp of the boat launch.
And now, the photos grand-maman took at Point Holmes.
She is one tired little girl.
Special time with dad.
Natasha is sleeping in the trailer again tonight.
She is so easy to deal with.
It was a good day.
Saturday, July 6, 2024.
Jeremy is working 8 to 5 today.
Before it gets too hot, we head to Kye Bay before lunch.
Natasha wanted to play in the playground next to the beach before we went to the beach.
She can use the swing by herself now.
The wind is coming from the water, and it is cool. The sun is helping a lot to keep warm.
At the beach, you have to build castles.
You also have to look for small crabs. It is not a problem to catch them. There are so many of them.
Natasha is quite hungry after the beach.
Natasha will be taking her nap with grand-maman in the trailer.
She has to have her stuffies with her...
Later on, we went for a bike ride, and Natasha fell. We were on a
gravel road, and she lost control. She has a damaged knee. It is the end
of the world.
We cannot do anything to make it better. Well, she will have to wait for her dad.
It is cherry picking time for the family.
Even the ones that are not as ripe are very good.
Grand-maman and Natasha are having a pillow fight!
Natasha is sleeping in the trailer again.
It is a Dance Party for Natasha.
We read the story before bedtime.
Jeremy and I were outside at the fire when we noticed a raccoon
walking in the neighbor's yard. He is heading to the cherry tree. We
tried to shoo him away, but he could not care, he was enjoying the
cherries.
Sunday, July 7, 2024.
It is time to put on makeup.
It is so funny to watch her sing along with the TV.
Her knee is doing very well, she is even jumping on the trampoline.
Natasha must really love the trailer, she is sleeping in the trailer again tonight.
She is showing a little attitude today.
Monday, July 8, 2024
Jeremy and I went fishing this morning. We caught many salmon, but we could not keep them as they were wild coho.
Just as we were leaving the area, I caught a hatchery coho. It was a keeper. We were fishing at Kitty Coleman.
By the way, the salmon was very good.
Natasha really loves sleeping in the trailer.
Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
When Jeremy got back from work, he told us the firefighters were going to the school after supper and spraying water.
The school is only two blocks away from the house.
The fire truck and the firefighters are getting ready.
Let the spraying start. It is very hot outside.
Natasha had to take a break, she was cold.
This time, the spraying is from way above.
Natasha loved it.
The firefighters have to use the equipment to keep current. They
used this time to train more firefighters on the equipment as well.
Since we are under a heat warning, everyone benefits.
Natasha is tired.
Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
Natasha's daycare sends us photos of her throughout the day. They spend time in the water to fight the heat.
Michele went thrift store shopping.
One of the murals in Comox.
Natasha makes some funny faces sometimes.
Jeremy and Mike went fishing. They caught many salmon but could only keep two of them.
Thursday, July 11, 2024.
Oh, the way they watch TV sometimes.
Michele had her appointment with the physiotherapist, who
explained that physiotherapy did not help Michele's neck problems. He recommends one or two massages and reevaluates after.
Jeremy started to work at 8 this morning. By mid-morning, he informed us he would be working until late in the evening.
Natasha is making funny faces with grand-maman and her ponytail.
Natasha is sleeping in the trailer. While she was brushing her teeth, she slipped and put her tooth brush almost in her eye.
It is the end of the world, but did we laugh.
A few minutes later, Natasha notices something wrong with her arm. It
looks like a nick on her skin. It turns out to be some tooth paste all
dried up. More laughter.
A photo of Kristin with her course "syndicate" from her course in Borden.
She only has one more exam to do, and this one is 5 hours long. After that, she will be done with this course.
BRAVO Kristin.
Friday, July 12, 2024.
Jeremy is not working today. Natasha is at daycare.
Michele and I are going for a drive to Campbell River. It is just a day out.
We visit the local Walmart, a few thrift stores, and used stores.
We had lunch at Dick's Fish & Chips. It is an institution in Campbell River.
Our meal is two big pieces of halibut fish, French fries, coleslaw, and tartar sauce.
It was a lot of food for us.
On our way back from Campbell River, we made a stop at the Miracle Beach provincial park.
It is a campground without services, but very close to the beach.
It is a very nice place.
Jeremy had a very good idea. Let's have supper at the splash park and have fun.
Natasha had some friends at the park.
They joined us, and we all had a good time.
Saturday, July 13, 2024.
Jeremy is at Mont Washington with Mike. They are riding down the mountain on mountain bikes.
As for us, we went for a short walk at the fairy lane in Comox.
Natasha was looking for the house she built last summer. Last
winter, they had high winds on the Island. It seems her house was
damaged beyond repair. It was still fun to walk down Fairy Lane.
Grand-maman and Natasha had a good nap this afternoon. Now, they are making peanut butter cookies.
They are very good.
Natasha is sleeping in the trailer again.
Sunday, July 14, 2024.
She is doing some colouring with dad. Simple things make her happy.
Jeremy had promised Natasha they would go fishing today. I join them.
No photo of the fishing trip, and no fish either.
After cleaning the boat and equipment, Natasha found the carcass of a rabbit in the front yard.
She helped dispose of it.
We head to an ice cream place after her nap.
Before and after supper, Natasha had a good time in the pool.
It was a good week.
Monday and Tuesday, July 15 and 16, 2024
Natasha must be in a growing phase. She has been eating like crazy for over a week.
Just ordinary days filled with laughter.
One of the nice photos daycare sends us every now and then.
A sleepover with grand-maman, in her bed for the movie.
