Overcast sky, feels like rain, boy this is not nice.
Can't wait to go south.

Today is "cleaning the shades" day. Could not believe how many we have in the motorhome, just under 12 of them.
Here is a clean one...

Back in the middle of September when we got here, we could not see the sand bar. Lake Ontario has dropped at least 4 inches since then. After talking to some of the local people, I found out that the lake had dropped over 24 inches since spring.

Here I am writing my class "D" exam.

Waiting for the results, and I passed with no problems.

Now I only have to do my practical test on the 31 October.

Wind, rain and cold, out for a car ride.
Some of the sceneries we saw along the way.

Lots of leaves are gone because of the high winds we got in the last few days.

A nice car ride, it was a good change of pace.

Another boring and rainy day. Why not go and spend some time at the mall in Belleville?

I had never seen such a contraption before. Pretty neat set-up and it works.

We also went to visit Odette for a few hours.

Monday October 24, 2011

One of the engine warning light in the motorhome is on. No loss of power from the engine and no other problems. Still not normal, so off to the truck place to have a look at it.

No need to pack up everything since we are coming back later on.

Here we are backing out of the garage. They could not read the codes on the engine because the laptop could not communicate with the engine computer. The problem is probably a cut or worn wire between the computer and something else.
So everything works fine even with the light on, so why worry! We will carry on as if we were normal.
Back to the campground.

A good ending for the day, a nice sunset.

I would say a pretty easy week considering the weather. If everything goes good, we will be leaving on November 1st for Nashville, Tennessee.

Easy days at the campground.

Wednesday to Thursday, the temperature dropped down to -5 C. I had shut the water off and drained the water hose but somehow some water got in an my "Y" connector split open.

No biggy!

Cool with sunny weather.
Time to visit the National Air Force Museum of Canada.

A very nice museum to visit. I will have to go back because there is too much to see and read.

Saturday and Sunday October 29 and 30, 2011

Two pretty relax days, we visited Odette and Onyx for the last time before we leave for the south.

The Canada Geese are just feeding like crazy before heading south.
We can't wait to head south...

Sunday being the day before Halloween, TV has a whole bunch of scary movies until tomorrow.
Michèle is watching lots of scary movies, until the early morning!

Since she loves scary movies, I used this time to do some more maintenance.
Like defrosting the freezer.

And cleaning the air conditioners air filters. The mounting bolts also need some tightening up.

Another well done job.

A good book, good wine and a wife who is very happy watching scary movies, what else do I need?

Today we are leaving the campground for... Belleville.
As you can see, last night was pretty cold...

Today I have to do my practical test to get my class "D" license. This will make me legal to drive the motorhome.
Here I am waiting for the evaluator.

My evaluator is a very nice lady. Here she is giving me last instruction on what is going to happen during the test drive.

Of course she has to make sure I do a good walk around before the drive.

Off we are for the "on the road" part of the evaluation.

No major problems with the "in city" part of the evaluation. Now I have to back up in a "wide" space. Compare to some of the campground we had in Cold Lake, this is pretty easy.

Everything is done! I have to say that the evaluator was pretty fair. I pass with some minor mistakes. I now can drive the motorhome legally.

Next step is the licensing office. Just a 30 minutes wait and we are done. I now have my class D licenses.

After all the paperwork is done, it is too late to leave Belleville so we spend the night at the Belleville Walmart.

This Walmart is very noisy, the 401 is only 100 meters away. I would recommend the on in Trenton, more quiet.
